For instance :
Psalm 137 is all about a song of cry from captives and verse 8-9 is their prayers of revenge against their captors
Leviticus was written at a time of great violence and gore, there were wars and killings all over the land at the time
And that Luke... How does that depict Jesus impregnated his mother?
And let's be real the age of marriage according to the Roman law at that time was 13-16 due to mortality and morbidity rate and now due to improvement in medicine, that has changed people live longer immunes life so now, nobody in their RIGHT mind will argue that such should still be the case and child marriage should still be a thing. No it's not it's just that humanity has been modernized to the point that people born 1950 and above have lost touch with reality before 1950 during the great wonderful era of prosperity after the United States One World war two and rebuilding a lot of the rebuilding was halfway through in many of the key infrastructure cities in the 1950s it was moving. Demands that his followers be like little children in order to get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So leading a man into temptation is just as evil as leading a Child into temptation. Because they are equivocated by Jesus referring to his disciples as "Little ones".

As a female I developed fairly early, having my first period at age 10. I was sexually pursued by a neighbour when I was 9 through to 11 (and thankfully protected before anything too serious transpired). Let me be clear; I was a CHILD, and not a WOMAN.
Puberty is not just physical, its mental. Development is gradual. And though I am 28 now and happily married, I still bare the scars of those times.
Pedophilia was, is, and always will be wrong. Mohammed was no exception.

But a 9-11 year old boy with a 10 year old girl is not considered a pedophile. So that sounds like a childhood trauma to me.

To clarify, the neighbour was in his sixties, I was aged 9-11 when it happened. The ordeal lasted 3 years.

@Soldier When i was under the age of 10 and in fundamentalist church, the adults were, in general, sexually repressed, so no one ever talked about sex, which kept the kids both repressed and ignorant. Yet all around me society was still obsessed with sex in all sorts of ways. I actually developed the notion that "true" religious fervor, being "on fire for the Lord", would "solve" the problem of unconsummated sexual desire! 😇. Then i read that passage in. I Corinthians 7:8 about how it's "better to marry than to burn". 🙄 That gave me the impression that most Christians got married only for sex, not because they loved each other! Isn't religion "moral"! 🙄😆 Until well into the 20th century, if a single woman and man wanted to have sex, what they often did was to first marry to satisfy the usual "moral" community standard set by Paul that it's "better to marry than to burn", then got a quickie divorce claiming "fornication", which, according to "Jesus" in Matthew 5:31, is the only grounds for divorce. Then of course they'd repeat that process as many times as they wanted sex with other partners. After a while things changed, as younger people actually started questioning the status quo and just got so sick and tired of the older generation's religious hypocrisy.... Now the Internet provides something unheard of in the olden days, many forums to actually converse and exchange opinions about these matters. That also means religions can keep on spreading their same old propaganda, although with updates to make it look better to the latest generation....

Sub-Saharan Africa is not all Christian. I wish it were. Just a Google search will show you which regions and even in southern and eastern Africa, you find large regions which are Muslim.
Do child marriages occur in Christian communities? Yes? Are they encouraged? No! Do child marriages happen in Muslim communities? Yes! Are they encouraged? Yes! So, when a point is raised about STD, it is not in Christian communities because the region is filled with both, as well as with traditional African religions.
Edit - 1:27:30 - Child marriages in Nigeria come predominantly from the Northern region which is Muslim dominated and Sharia ruled.

Just because child/minor marriages happened during the biblical and Islamic era doesn’t mean it was morally right. Along with the fact that Daniel is defending it scares me!
The thing is that, the quran explicitly says that mohammed is the greatest moral example that all humans should emulate and because this greatest example slept with a 9 year old girl, they HAVE to defend him or else they're going against their teachings. You'll also see debates with muslims on topics like slavery, sex trafficking, jihad, etc because these are all things that mohammed did therefore his followers MUST defend him. eg, Nadir says slavery is good because the slaves are sent to school and are educated therefore it should be brought back. Mohammed hijab says captive women WANT to be raped by their "strong muslim masters". Ali dawah says that people who leave the Islamic religion should be killed and he's proud of that law. Men and Women should get married when they have sexual desire. The church has held to this. You should not tell people in their sexual hormonal peak to simply "not have sex" but should promote marriage. The age held by the church has ranged from 14-18, being consensual of course.

People need to remember in the OT married women were not really responsible for farming per se and working in the fields along with the men. THey were expected to RUN THE BUSINESS of farming. They had to be intelligent and wise to trade the goods their husbands farm produced. Proverbs 31 traits are more likely to be found in a woman over 18 than a girl under 18.
So while child marriage did happen the norm was still to marry later in life. Furthermore Muhammad also practiced polygamy. As did OT figures yes though generally anytime they did brought a lot of trouble to their families and you can see based on the consequences and God's standards that it was sinful. I would like to see Daniel defend polygamy especially Muhammads personal polygamy where he was allowed more wives than anyone else. The others could have 4 but he had 12 and how did he know it was okay to have 12 well God just decided to send him a vision that it was okay for him but no one else......it couldn't be that he made it up to fulfill his own desires or anything.....

I know I’m getting into this late, but I noticed something very telling and concerning. Mike always refers to women and girls as human beings that deserve love, respect, and protection. Daniel always refers to them as property that needs to be “secured” asap to give the man children. In Islam women and children are just tools to help the man achieve his personal goals, but in Christianity they’re some of the most highly regarded people in a society. That alone says everything you need to know about who’s right in this debate.

That is out of the bounds of normal puberty, its a rare medical condition.
As for why girls are going through normal puberty earlier we do actually have a good idea of why this is happening. The first is that children are fatter. Even the children of normal weight are about 8lbs heavier than their counterparts of 50 years or so ago. More fat means more oestrogen which is thought to be resulting in the earlier puberty.
We also know that in homes where a father is absent puberty occurs approximately a year earlier in girls. Given the large rise in single parent households (usually headed by mothers,) we could reasonably expect that to bring down a countries average age.

There are additives in foods today that we didn't have before that contribute. These additives are also suspected to feminize males as well. And in his letters to the churches, especially corinthians, he is always very specific and addresses various issues he had to correct the churches on. If there was an issue or problem raised by the church about child marriage, Paul would’ve been specific and written something along the lines of “Regarding child marriage….” This is the style he writes in. So clearly the verse you quoted isn’t about children, and like I already said if you read the whole letter you can clearly see he’s talking to adults, the letter literally starts with a few principles Paul lays down for marriage and constantly mentions MAN and WOMAN, fully grown adults, not freaking children. Never understood how getting a period indicates full maturity. No one thinks a teenage boy is capable of marriage just because he starts having voice cracks, so why are girls mistreated this way? Daniel's major point seems to be that "a girl has sexual desires and his solution is to marry". However, the problem is that when we ask him what happens when he felt hungry or has the desire to eat during Ramadan, is the solution to go and eat (seeing that their fasting period just ended)? No, the solution is not marriage, it's self control, a child (in fact anyone) that gets married because of sexual desires is as dangerous as saying we should satisfy every desire we have, even if it is evil.
It is a wrong comparison. Ramadan is a voluntary way to feel the hunger. A better comparison would be to compare the sexual desire that a minor could feel with the desire to eat. If one feels hunger, he eats to satisfy his desire. Same thing otherwise, if one feels the desire to have sex, he just marries, and if he can't, then he abstains.

The argument about women at the age over 35 having birth problems should be banned if child birth is banned. The difference is that a woman at the age 35 is a mature women who can give consent to getting pregnant. A 12 year old child cannot give consent to have sex.

The fact that studies oppose child marriage that are written by "medical experts" who support chemical castration for 4-year-olds is not at all convincing. @Soldier quoting random bible verses doesnt really mean anything to me, and i dont think we are morally better now just because it's the 21st century, that has nothing to do with why i reckon the current moral situation today is better than in the past. Just broadly since its a lot to get into, but today is better because of trending towards more freedoms, access of information, increase in certain qualities of life such as health, medicine, longevity, etc.
