- Jakob Ingebrigtsen doesn’t just break Daniel Komen’s 28-year-old world record in the 3000m, he SHATTERS it, running 7:17.55 to become the first athlete in history under 7:20 in the event. That’s 58.34 400m pace for 7.5 laps straight.

He closed slightly slower than he opened the 1500 final. He is a f animal. Beast
Intelligent, articulate and extremely honest.
No need to even mention his talent.
He just broke the record that was considered to be unbreakable. Incredible!!!!!
@@davidsimon1324 and with over three seconds 🤯🤯🤯
Sooo happy for him after miscalculation in Paris. He has shown complete recovery with this WR.
When he runs he doesn't even look like he is trying all that hard yet he is actually running at World Record pace, incredible.
Our generational athlete
He is growing as a person. Always been a great athlete, now become a better personality too. The GOAT!
Is that a joke?
kerr still a clown
Thanks for always putting on a show for us Jakob!
"No..." Beast
Great explanation what was the toughest part since he rarely runs the 3.000m!
An actual good question 🤣
Yes, also the fact that 3:38 1500m pace is so easy for him it's mind blowing
Informative and nice interview. Well done!
Well done Jacob "IF Your Fast, No One Will Pass" 🙂👍Good Health to You
12:25 5k lets go
Closer to 12:30 than 12:25, more likely...
12:22
12:29.50
11:15
The online question was so much better than the journalist's opener.
The Best Super Jacob
Fantastik Run....🎉
only a matter of time before the 1500, mile, and 5k records fall too
Amazing pace, even more impressive than his 2mile WR. The equivalent 2 mile would be something like 7:50. He had 218 meters to make 2 miles, and he had 37 seconds to do it. If he slowed down to a 67s pace he would still beat his 2 mile world record.
@@jasonlaw1079 I hadn’t even thought about that, that’s insane! What an incredible run. Hopefully he can take the 2 mile (from himself) and 5k world record!
Awesome! Way to cleanup the "disappointment" from Paris!!
Surely the 1500m WR is possible this season.
The light should have laid down a blistering kick the final 100 meters and clipped Jakob at the line.
If someone who isn’t a track fan read that, they would be confused.
The light went out too fast in the first 400 and lost its kick.
2 time Olympic champion. 2 time World Champion & 3 world records at only 23 years old. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
get that 1500 record!
Nice to hear that I am not the only one who feel the part between 1200 and 2200 meters as the part where you really need to work to keep the pace.
Really proud of your outstanding track accomplishment....Truly amazing WR Jacob! The legend Hicham el Guerrouj has finally been surpassed, his 1500m 3.26.00 WR will soon fall.
I guess they all want that Diamond Ring😂. Jakob Wr, Femke MR, Karsten 46.95
Absolutely insane. Everyone is talking about and thinking he's going sub 12:30 in the 5K.
Bravooo!
Jacob did'nt have any post Olympic 1500m bust like Hocker...he went on to win gold over 5000m, 1500m in Lausann, and broke world record over 3000m. He is still no.1, although he got tactics wrong in 1500 in Paris.
Genius
In retrospect, the loss in the 1500m was important for his growth as an athlete. His last two races were masterful, his maturity coming to fruition. Josh who...?
Kerr
@@Artemis-v8iHocker
@@bruce8554 Yeah, Josh's biggest achievement after he retires will be that he raced with Jakob.
The most supreme of supreme athletes
Great questions. :)
Best of all, he is a nice wonderful person.
Congrats
If only more athletes had this attitude rather than trying to protect themselves and their reputations
GOD has gifted this young man inso many ways....we are watching history being made! He could have the 15,5 and 10 records when he's done!
me when years of gruelling training, hard work, and dedication is reduced to "being gifted by a mythical being that we pretend exists"
@@myrechhow is that brutal and grueling training possible, may I ask? God provides us with the tools to conquer our greatest battles. What God has provided Jakob Ingebrigtsen with is the talent and dedication that has led him to become so prosperous.
@@benanastasoff8980Or maybe it‘s just him who tried really hard
@@linusamman3197 why are those two mutually exclusive? They certainly don’t have to be. Believe in God, don’t believe in God, your choice. I, however, refuse to believe that such miraculous results occur without the divine grace of our lord
@benznstasol
Even if you think that some naked woman in a cloud could make Jacob run faster which I don’t sure there could be a trans God on a cloud willing Jacob : he still needs to practice the running day in day out much more then the lesbian woman on a cloud giving this or that to poor humans,
Jakob vs speed of light 1:0
The 1500 haunts him
Bro is a runner chad
How is he doing that? What is his secret?
He runs everyday
Next target: Run 5K under 12:30
Who else is anticipating 2028 Olympics?
Sub12,40 ?
5000m obvio verdad
He can go sub 12:30
more like sub 12:30. He just needs to race in a faster 5k
This guy will smash the world record on 5000 m when he want.
Nice spoiler
No.
Yes.
Maybe
Athletics is a poor sport non supported with a lot of controls. It will be difficult to beat records in the future especially by African even with the new shoes. Unless there is a radical change in this sport which will make it more popular.
In Norway, where I come from, there is an extremely good athletics environment, where there are many up and coming athletics stars. Not so sure if it is like that in many other countries outside of Europe that you mention. But I think it could become a fairly European (and of course North American) dominated sport. In any case, I think there are many Norwegians who want to assert themselves well in the future..
@@SpaceflightSimulator It's all boil to bucks (as say the American, I'm not good at their tongue). Just look at the guy that comes after Jakob and do you think the statistics over the years lie? CONDITIONS.
Also I'm a believer of climat change theory. The climat in Earth is becoming more and more hot, favorizing the Nordic European countries.
He’s a supreme time trialist below 5000m. And a great racer at 5000m. Also he’s an arrogant and disingenuous jerk. But damn if he’s not fun to watch when he’s got pacers and lights and all favorable conditions.
please cf my response to his "amazingness" (spoiler it's doping)
Getting old,,he's just incredible, one of the best the world has ever seen
I have found that typically the biggest jerks, dopes, arrogant people are the ones calling him arrogant and a jerk
@@jonasf4065 wow, so original. He has shown over and over again that he is arrogant and he has said so many rude and dismissive things about his competitors, so ya, he’s kind of a jerk. He’s also incredibly talented. It happens. But go ahead and defend his honor and lash out, though he doesn’t need it, he’s a big boy and doesn’t need you all up in his jock with your nose.
The superspikes and wave lights are creating drastic changes in the tracks. They have +8sec in the 5000m, +5sec in the 3000m and 3sec+ in the 1500m of bonus. If you dont believe it just look at the results of the 800m, 5 guys run under 1:42sec and 3 of them did it 2 times this season alone. The changes begin to appear since 2020 with Cheptegei WR in he 5000m and 10000m.
