Man I feel bad for Jakob that was so gutsy. I think he had the right idea, just didn't execute it perfectly and went out too fast. He'll be back though
No, his idea was Foolish, and I know he regrets it now. If that was the plan the coach ought to be fired.
@@StanleyNewman-bk9bh no , it wasn't foolish , he loss by less than a second . I think he could have come by 800 in about 1:53 flat instead of 1:51.88 ( ahead of WR pace) and he would have medaled at the least
@@podawe8051 exactly , 1 think he needed to go by 800 in 1:53 , not 1:51.88 ( ahead of WR pace ) just too fast .
@@ZATHURAKEY Here we go - Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda😂😂🤦🏾♂️
@@podawe8051 feel bad , he has 2 Olympic Gold medals and 2 - world Championship Silvers plus 3 - World championship Silvers .
I really love Yared and Cole is a nice guy too ❤
@pandaman1968 I agree, it's like Cole created and window of opportunity there for Jared. Nice to see that sportsmanship between countrymen.
Amazing press conference
Love that these three took the podium. Jakob is so cocky, he didn't think anyone would be able to hang with that pace. He has no kick so he had to go out hard - totally underestimated his competitors. Go USA (and Josh too)!
USA 🇺🇸 Indiana boy best in the world so proud
Cole Hocker is a revelation. I'm ecstatic to see him win!
Congrats to all three of these guys! This is awesome and kudos to them!
This race was so good!!! Congratulations!!!! 🙌🏾🎉
Happy for you, guys. Congratulations 🎉❤
All 3 of these men are class acts
Really surprised how few reporters are at this presser.
Cos ingebritsen is the only draw card for the sport. These three don't have his charisma
That's why Kerr is so envious of him
@@troycambowhat a numptie you are!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Huge result for USA distance running. This should really kick track participation to a new level.
That last answer by Josh Kerr was brilliant.
Salty af
Spoken so well by all 3. They are great ambassadors to the sport 👏
The public doesn't care about that. The reason it's almost empty is none of these guys have charisma.
Btw being salty is not a personality kerr
@@troycambo 🤣 you big mad 🤣
@@troycamboironic cause you seem pretty salty
@@troycamboYou big salty 😂
Great content. Thank you for sharing this!
Kerr's comments about Jakob were very fair. Honest respect is what you want to see from your competition. Maybe we'll see some healthier atmosphere around the rivalry between those two in the future after this surprising race.
Fair? He wasn't as surprised jacob didn't medal.
Kerr has always been salty and its soooo obvious jacob still lives in his head rent free despite not even being there.
@@troycamboJosh definitely got his digs in 😂... but he was accurate regarding the pace, and competition closing the gap since Tokyo.
@@troycamboyou live in a dream world! Kerr had Inge in his back pocket!! Can't see Inge being on a global podium 1500m again, he will have to make 5k his primary event. That is the reality, so wake tfu!!
what a race these guys put together. will be remembered for a very very long time
Gold from Indianapolis!!
Bronze went to Notre Dame!!
Way to go, Hoosiers!!
FYI: Hocker was born and raised in Indianapolis (went to college in Oregon)
@@michaell8722 uh.....I think that's what I said
@@soonerwhirle well no, it’s not… you said way to go hoosiers, but neither of these runners are a hoosier. so the clarification that hocker went to oregon makes sense…
Let's go!
@@lukedang8759 Hoosier means a person from Indiana. The term was around long before the University of Indiana made it their mascot.
King Cole! Best runner on the planet! Feel so good about his win. Love Kerr too. Jakob with that ridiculous pace. Wow, just wow
😮
What a race.. *Love it*
Lesson is *Don't pay much attention to the media hype*
*FOCUS on you & RUN YOUR RACE* 🏃♀️ 😊
Three humble gentlemen!
So happy to see such a great athlete and a human being, Cole, you are my new hero! So humble, naive, and respectful... aaaannnddd FAST!
Josh Kerr is very articulate, and inciteful. Class act.
Good to see Nuguse get a medal...one of the best 1500 meter races I've seen.
It's Yar-ed not Yar-ad! Say my name right!! I❤it😅😅😂
Brilliant interview Josh! Very professional, all 3 off you!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
1500m has some extremely talented guys. The talent pool is very high. You can never underestimate the next person.
Class acts from all. I used to dislike Kerr but not anymore. He’s done a lot for the sport and the guy loves to compete.
Way to make America proud Hocker! 🇺🇸
Reminds me sooo much of Dave Wottle's incredible run in the '72 Olympics 1600 meter finals. I remember screaming "here comes Wottle" over and over. Still makes my hair stand up.
I'm almost surprised Yared didn't get gold, but Cole makes sense, his finish strength is undeniable. Was honestly rooting for Jakob, ha, but it's amazing to see 3 Americans in the top 5. Hobbs Kessler has a very bright future.
I thought the pacemaker did a brilliant job in this race, although I was surprised to see he ran all the way to the finish. 😂😂
That Runners World question seemed like fluff at first, but might've revealed how two Americans were on the podium. Yared tried to improve his kick to match Cole. Cole improved his strength to match Yared. It adds up.
I was in the stadium that night and the atmosphere was amazing!
Just a great video and so clever are those 3 athletes really deserve their medals.. Inga DK.
Thrilling for me in all ways just as Fisher in the 10,000m, I loved it all of it BIGLY. Congratulations for your incredible skill and courage to win, all 3 of you!!!!
The empty seats are pretty depressing for the best race of the Olympic Games so far.
A ll 3 of these guys ran so well. Congrats. Also Jacob and Kessler ran well too. Their times were all amazing. They all performed wonderfully at the most pressure packed race. That was a celebration of middle distance running.
Very nice interview
Amazing race!
Norway Nike ad not looking so good now. 😅
@@lukelee3 he set the pace though…can’t take that away from him.
Josh has no respect for Jakob 😂
“I was less surprised he didn’t medal”
I see it not so much as disrespect but rather the cold realization that it’s likely impossible to go out at world record pace and run from the front the whole way and not come apart in the last handful of meters.
Thanks to Jakob Ingebrigtsen, without whom this would not be possible.
Gotta love finishing 4th.
