      @cliffordbradford8910 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In previous America's Cups a variety of darling data was open to the public if you had a subscription to the America's Cup app or whatever, I dunno if that's this case this time or whether that included the crew power. It's funny but for years the source of power onboard the boats was grinding (basically cycling with your arms) and all those guys look like gorillas and I always thought why not pedal because legs can obviously deliver more power. It wasn't until fairly recently that they started using cyclors

    This is where real breakthroughs come from. Combining intellectual high performers from unrelated pursuits to achieve unrealistic objectives.... you dont know what problems you have to solve, let alone how you will solve them. But you know you will because you (literally) have a boat full of people who won't give up until they've won.

    When I was in college in Providence, Rhode Island, the America’s Cup was still run out of Newport RI. The huge intrigue was always the keel - they would have a skirt around the keel whenever they raised a boat and lots and lots of rumors about spying, etc went around. Much smaller boats back then.

    An AC75 is an incredible piece of human engineering, seemingly defying the laws of physics, with a single foil able to lift the complete boat out of the water and 'fly' it above the surface at speeds of about 40 knots, with just 10 knots of wind.

    • @sorenludwig3978

    Great video. I wanted to see what the New Zealand cyclors backgrounds were and it’s equally as fascinating. These guys are beasts:
    Hamish Bond: three time Olympic gold medallist rower.
    Marius Van Der Pol: former soldier and member of the New Zealand Special Air Service.
    Simon Van Velthooven: men’s Olympic medalist in the cycling Keirin. He has also won multiple World Championship and Commonwealth Games medals and was the 2012 World Cup champion in the 1 km time trial and keirin events.
    Douglas Allan: Mulitisport athlete: 2x Coast to Coast multisport world champion, Ironman, Xterra and adventure racing champion.
    Cam Webster: Junior World Rowing Champion, U23 World Rowing Champion.
