  • In this video I am showing you how to make small smoothie freezer bags! I’ve come to accept that prepping smoothie freezer bags is the easiest way for me to stick to making a smoothie every day or at least most days. I am also sharing some small single serving smoothie recipes that you can prep for the week or even just the night before. These recipes that I am sharing in this video are the perfect size for individual servings and for small blenders like a Nutribullet. And the great thing about using frozen fruit in your smoothies is that you don’t have to worry about adding ice to your blender. The frozen fruit makes your smoothies the perfect texture.
Hope you enjoy these easy smoothie freezer bags using simple ingredients. And trust me they all taste delicious! Enjoy!
    ► My Blender: amzn.to/37X24BH
Small Smoothie Freezer Bags in order listed in video:
    Blueberry Spinach Smoothie
    1 small handful of spinach
    1/2 cup frozen blueberries
    1/2 frozen banana
    A drop of honey
1 cup almond milk (I like vanilla flavored)
    Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie
    1 cup frozen strawberries
    1/2 frozen banana
    1/4 cup old fashioned oats
    1 cup vanilla almond milk
    Tropical Green Smoothie
    1 small handful spinach
    1/2 cup frozen pineapple
    1/2 cup frozen peaches
    1/2 frozen banana
    A drop of honey
    1 cup water
    Avocado Pineapple Smoothie
    1/2 cup frozen avocado
    1/2 cup frozen pineapple
    1/2 frozen banana
    A drop of honey
    1 cup vanilla almond milk
*You can add 1/2 tablespoon of ground flaxseeds to any of these smoothies for an extra boost of nutrients
    TIPS:
    1. Try freezing your bananas in 4’s (divide each banana into 4 pieces, then freeze). When it’s time to make your smoothie bags, 2 pieces will equal a half of a banana. This will make it easier to put in your blending cup.
    2. Blend spinach and liquid first until it reaches a juice-like consistency, then add the rest of your fruit and blend.

Great idea. When we I buy fresh fruit I freeze most of it for smoothies and you can also freeze your own avocados as well. A lot cheaper and especially the ones that might be getting a little too ripe. Cut up those fresh avocados and bananas baby and freeze them! I love your idea of packaging them already to go in the individual bags like that

Back in the 80's I used to make smoothies and juice quite often but stopped, I'm glad I came across your video, you've given me so much incentive to go back. Wow! frozen avocado, now that's a game changer for me, I'm going to try to freeze my own because they tend to spoil so quickly. I can't wait to prepare these freezer fruit/veggie packages. Thanks, you are Fantabulous!

Hello Marsha!! Every morning I make a green smoothie for my Hubby but it takes up some of my morning time, until I just FINALLY realized "DUH", I could've been making freezer prep packs lol!! Thank you for sharing and have a blessed day Marsha!!😊🙏🙏

You can also freeze your own fresh fruits, especially when something is on special. Just prep the produce into chunks and place them on a tray and into the freezer. Once frozen, they can be stored in a freezer bag until needed and they won’t stick together in a big clump.

Yes, you are right!! I do that sometimes too. Especially in the summertime with my strawberries and blueberries.

@@maplejubilee I had a big parcel arrive yesterday, with several bags of dried fruits and two of cashews. I tasted one of the dried black mulberries and it took a long time for the flavour to come through, so I ground them in my blender first, along with some cashews, then added rolled oats and some water. It turned into a delicious smoothie and I didn’t even need to add any sweetener. The other dried fruits I bought are mango spears, paw paw cubes, sliced apples, and of course the mulberries. I found a good source for all these things, I can buy 500g of each for about half the price the supermarkets charge.

This is a great idea! Another thing that has helped me, I purchased a wireless portable blender that I keep at work. It's rechargeable, so I just let it charge overnight when needed. I can use it around 15 or so times before it needs to be recharged. That way, I can grab my smoothie freezer bag, throw it in my lunch bag, and pretty much speed to work, like every morning! I have got to do better! LOL! If I am using something besides water in the smoothie, I take it in a small 8 oz mason jar, which I also prep the night before. So glad to see your smiling face again! Hope you and your family are well. :)

Hello Marsha!! I love your video about the small smoothie freezer bags, so clear, fun & great!! Keep it up!! I have a question: I really like the idea of taking the time to prepare the freezer bags in one shot and freeze them. I was wondering if it is possible to prepare a basic mix of smoothies, with a bit of liquid, mix them in my Vitamix until smooth, place them in ice cube containers & when frozen to put them in ziploc freezer bags. When I am ready to have a smoothie, I choose 2 or 3 ice cubes (in a Masson jar with cover), add a bit more liquid (oat milk is my favorite) and mix until all smooth & drink. This is to avoid using the blender for every bag. Thank you for letting me know...much appreciated. I really like your videos & your bubbly personality!!

Love it, thank you!! My doc wants me to have super green smoothies so I’m freezing bags of greens (kale, chard, & spinach then alternating dark leafy lettuces so I don’t tax my kidneys with oxalates). I always use frozen berries too! I think I heard you say you added flaxseed, which is super. Have you tried adding chia seeds too? I also got powdered spirulina to add because my iron is really low. Love your video (and your kitchen!)!

P.S. I don’t add the flaxseed (fresh ground) or the chia seeds to the freezer bag either! 😄

Will canned veggies such as kale and spinach work as well as fresh produce since fresh or frozen isn't quite as economical as canned?

I’m sure it would! I wonder if the taste wouldn’t be as nice though. I remember canned spinach being very intense; while fresh or frozen you can barely taste. I would look for bags on sale! They keep in the freezer forever really, and freezer burn doesn’t affect anything. Just blend with the liquid first so they get blended well and then add the frozen fruit and protein powders etc.

How many days should I prep for? Should I prep for 3 days at a time or could I prep for an entire week? How long can I keep foods like bananas and oats in the freezer. #imNewToTheSmoothieLife

I would have like to see how you transfer this into the small blender cup frozen.
