I've been trying to tell the bands I work with this for YEARS. It's funny because when I suggest this to bands I get the same feedback of "I want to be taken seriously and not be a cringey TH-camr" or "I can't find the time" which I feel is a big cop-out when you have cavetown and wallows making videos of things they would already be doing in their everyday lives. Thanks Jesse for another great video. Def going to be sharing this one around a lot.

What is the strategy if you have 0 followers on youtube? I can imagine making regular content even for a tiny fan base to engage with, but how do you engage with nobody? New channels on youtube are ghost towns because of the youtube algorithm, and consistently making content that reaches nobody seems unproductive.
Great point and trust me I’ve gone through it with this channel and others. This is the part of it where making videos that speak to a community really matter. I hate to be this guy but did you watch my video on finding community? I find what usually are the building blocks that work for this are say you make a video that’s a make up tutorial or a Star Wars discussion and then you bring those vlogs there and that begins to bolster you. But to your point I don’t see this as zero fans and instead more at 2,000 fans helping get you to 10,000

Will you address the best methods for driving traffic to one's TH-cam channel? (Especially new ones). Certain social campaigns, building pixel traffic for lookalikes, etc. or is it entirely organic, community based?

Hey! I love all your videos. I was wondering if you thought it was entirely required for “the band” to have one social media page? Both me (instrumentalist) and singer have a built in fan base that supports us monetarily and we’re worried about over saturated content by posting on 3 pages that most people would see on the other 2.
Post on all three but post announcements and more clerical things from the band account and share them from your personals

I cover this two videos from now. But the short answer is yes, if it does well you can always monetize it through YT Content ID.
