omg big thank you... Through this comment I just realised I used the "old" 2.8 version the whole time what cause many issues. Subscribed and liked for the vid great tutorial
It is straightforward and does not miss any details, making it easier to copy and run. Also, the recording of the whole process, including the "Thinking aloud," helps in understanding the concept of playing around. It is a very humane approach.
I love tutorials from people who are not trying to make tutorials, but rather simply trying to be highly competent. They end up making the best tutorials with no jump cuts & gimmicks.
Came here specifically for the inflatable tutorial but I had to pause the video and laugh to myself when you shrank the radius of the proportional editing. I've been using blender way too long to not have known you could do that. Love when that happens though, really great tutorial!
This tutorial was great! I love how you dont ramble on about stuff the viewers already know about and just get straight into the stuff the people rlly care about!
man! I don't even have words to describe the excellence of your tutorials! You go straight to the explanation without boring us with you life story and you don't burn our heads begging for our likes and subscriptions, I went straight to that red button because your tuts are just the best!
@Ma Rk most people delete the default cube then add a sphere, plane or cylinder, etc. But a true master knows that the default cube is all you need. sphere, just hit it with the subdivision modifier a few times. Cylinder, hit it with bevel and adjust to suit your needs. plane, just scale it down in z.
omg how it's possible that you are not famous as blender guru and others !!! you have alot of free tutriols omg i am in love with your way of explining it's the first time that i understand everythin in english, you are the best blender youtuber for me, please keep doing vidoes and tutriols, will watch all your videos and like them and i will share your channel on all discord channels thank you so much sir !!!! Thank you so much From syira
Thank you so much Chris!. This tutorial is really useful in my studies. Keep teaching us with amazing lessons about this 3D modeling program. Blender rocks! Congratulations!
I'm finding this tutorial just in time. I was thinking about sculpting something I needed and this is going to be great replacement for that tidious work. Thank you. Big like.
Thanks sooooo much for your wonderful tutorial ! I'm a brand new newbie in 3d designs, and was baffled by overwhelming set of functions. Helps me get out in a total confusion :D
Awesome tutorial I'm brand new to to 3d and thank God for blender I just stumbled onto your wonderfully easy to follow tutorial well done and THANK YOU
Perfect. Thank you! TH-cam search works best with video titles in my experience. You maybe could think about adding the examples into the title name so that people searching for one of those things will find your beautiful tutorial. I know tags exist but the algorithm appears to favor titles.
very nice tutorial ty when i do remesh inside object properties tab i check inside viewport display wireframe that gives you in real time the transformation you doing , ty again for the Tutorial
Tip: at 11:45, you could also just subdivide the cube a couple of times, apply subdivmodifier, and then in edit mode, select all, and press F3 to search for "to sphere" also works with edges and "to circle"
I just happened onto this, and I think it has solved a problem I've been looking for. I've been trying to show water draining from a sink. Using the cloth as "Water" it's looking good. May have to play with it though. Thanks for the backside help.
You should have creased the seams on the balloon, it looks much better. Well you could have done that on some other stuff too. It's not realistic when everything is smooth. (And by creasing I mean selecting the edges and hit shift-e, 1. Subdivision modifier will keep these edges sharp.)
Hi My name is Mahmood , I'm from Bahrain I'm beggener in blender You blender series are powerfull and vary usefull Thank you very much I'm traying to creat a hot air baloon but i'm sragling with the basket What type of physical properties i should use for it Can you mack similer series for the rist of physical properties
I wondered why I didn't smash the like button the first time I saw a tut from you. Now I did, and it felt awesome! Then I hit the subscribe button, and it felt incredible!
Awesome tutorial. I'm trying to get the same effect like your Blender logo but without pinning as this freezes my object in place. Weightpainting seems to be the way to go but i still can't get it to crease and have that nice seam.
hey! thank you so much for the tutorial. I have one question? How do I vertex parent an object to a cloth. For example a button attached to a moving fabric.
Super! Thanks. Just to clarify, if the object is unwrapped before the simulation it will retain it's texture positioning? Will it cause strange warping and stretching of the texture? Will you have to redraw the seams and unwrap it again?
The pillow pin dent you created is locked to 3D space instead of the pillow center of mass and will therefore not move with the pillow; This creates a pillow shape hanging from the pin dent.
Hi! Thanks to share this! I'm used to model things like sofa with 3DS Max + Marvelous designer. Do you think that a task like this would be done in Blender?
Hi, thank you for your tutorial ^^ But is it possible to see or have the Blender logo scene ? The balloon effect is very realistic and I would like to do the same. Mathieu
in the bean bag chair, is there anyway to make the icosphere that falls into the egg a rigid body and have it fall with gravity ? im trying to make a trampoline type cloth with a bunch of objects hitting a cloth, deforming it and rolling around! thank you!
hi great set of tutorials - but I am baffled by one thing we have made our pillow but can only view it by animating it - say i like the look of it on frame 50 how do i make that permanent so i can put my pillow onto new blender file - if i Cut n paste it it all i paste is the original flat cube . do I have to bake it ?
ITs OK I have sussed it - just apply it all - i dont think in any of the tutorials ive ever seen they have mentioned that - they always seem to think you know to do it - just made the hot air balloon ....Nice tutorial thanks
imagine one day, we have a massive breakthrough in quantum computing, allowing the tech to be shrunk down from the size of a room or two into the size of a desktop. some people say that might never happen, but look at computers in the 50-60's and compare them to now. im optimistic and excited.
I know this was made a few years ago but for some reason when I scale down the verticies (As shown is 2:40) even when scaling them on the z axis with proportional editing, I dont get them actually coming together like that Is there something Im missing or doing wrong?
Can't think of anything. Just bringing the verts closer togerher along the z axis. If scaling doesnt work you can always move the top ones down and the bottom ones up...
I've noticed you're switching very fast from cube to plane without mentioning it. When looking at the settings on the lower part of the screen I miss the actual steps that you switch from one to the other object and ending up doing settings on the wrong object. It would be convenient if you could actually say switch to plane, switch to cube etc. Beginners like myself getting very confused and going back and forth in the tutorial. Otherwise great tutorial :)
Important: You need Blender 2.82 or later!
omg big thank you... Through this comment I just realised I used the "old" 2.8 version the whole time what cause many issues. Subscribed and liked for the vid great tutorial
Can you give me the linked for blender 2.82, because I cant find it on the Blender.org
@@iqbalauliarachman1897 builder.blender.org/download/
Thanks, took me a few minutes of searching for this
can this be used in a mesh with armatures and preserving volume to emulate muscle under skin?

That's fantastic! I only need a tutorial on how to find more time to study all these wonderful tutorials))) thank you! I'll study this one later
LOL ... look for time machine tutorials and tell me if you found a working one!
Thank you so much Chris!. This tutorial is really useful in my studies. Keep teaching us with amazing lessons about this 3D modeling program. Blender rocks! Congratulations!
The animation at the end is so satisfying *-*
ETERNAL THANKS, Chris, You're a Legend !! 🏆 You're an Amazing Teacher. Much appreciation for you, Brother. 😊😊
The Cloth Pressure tool is useful. Thank you for the tutorial!
first time i see your content. super good. i'm now 1 year swimming in blender tutorials.
Another excellent tutorial - leaving me very inspired to inflate some objects. Thanks - great job!

Happy New Year!
@@chrisprenn Happy new year to You! :)

This is in fact, as mentioned by many, a great tutorial for #BlenderClothSims Very appreciated! Thank you.
This is great, it should have way more views.
That is such a complete tutorial of how to use a new feature. Great job, already subscribed after just this one video
Thank you for this, every other tutorial on this honestly sucks either they don't go into much detail or they completely skip some stuff
Awesome tutorial I'm brand new to to 3d and thank God for blender I just stumbled onto your wonderfully easy to follow tutorial well done and THANK YOU

Good idea
very nice tutorial ty when i do remesh inside object properties tab i check inside viewport display wireframe that gives you in real time the transformation you doing , ty again for the Tutorial
Greate tutorial. Can you please show how you made blender logo as well. I like the creases on the edges very much
Tip:
at 11:45, you could also just subdivide the cube a couple of times, apply subdivmodifier, and then in edit mode, select all, and press F3 to search for "to sphere"
also works with edges and "to circle"
SO GREAT! Loved this tutorial!

fantastic tutorial ! Thank you so much
Merci ! You are a great teacher.
Amazing tutorial! Nice and thanks!
I just happened onto this, and I think it has solved a problem I've been looking for. I've been trying to show water draining from a sink. Using the cloth as "Water" it's looking good. May have to play with it though. Thanks for the backside help.
Have you tried using the flip fluids addon? I've heard it's a really good alternative to blender's fluid simulations
Again a great one, THANK YOU Chris :)
Very good examples, thanks a lot for the tut. is amazing how you can do all of this for free.
Thank you for resurrecting at 0:22 this poor default cube immediately after its deletion !
that's how it's done!
😂
Nice tutorial
Really love the tutorial new sub! I really needed these tutorials!
I loved the balloon tutorial!
Oh yes this is amazing you even helped me with a nice material!
Thank you very much. Very informative.
Very helpful, thank you for making this!
Really nice tutorial! Exactly what I was looking for.
Nice simulations!
When you are selecting the vertical rings in the hot air balloon, you can ring select, deselect checker and then select edge loops
Thank you! Even inclusive the crease for the balloon I was hoping for :)
Very excellent tutorial! Loved the methods you used
Thank you, it's almost magic
marvelous designer sent regards

a very nice result, i like this pressure simulation that works realy fast
yes it's very nice and useful ....thanks
love the tutorial, thanks!!
This is super awesome!
You sir are just....amazing!
☺️
icredibly helful man, nice to follow and good explanations.

if you use self collision you should make distance a little small, otherwise the deformations will be slow and strange
Great stuff thankyou
realy cool video and realy good for inspiration

I wondered why I didn't smash the like button the first time I saw a tut from you.

Awesome tutorial. I'm trying to get the same effect like your Blender logo but without pinning as this freezes my object in place. Weightpainting seems to be the way to go but i still can't get it to crease and have that nice seam.
I was wondering the same thing. Could you pleased give us a hint? It looks really amazing.
Thanks for sharing! Have you ever tried creating collisions between 2 cloths objects? Do no get the result expected but still trying to figure out!
hey! thank you so much for the tutorial. I have one question? How do I vertex parent an object to a cloth. For example a button attached to a moving fabric.
You can use "Make Vertex Parent" for that!
Great job! subbed!
Thanks for the tutorial
Very practical and useful tutorial indeed! Thanks for sharing it. I just "smashed" the subscribe button... ;)
THX!
Super! Thanks. Just to clarify, if the object is unwrapped before the simulation it will retain it's texture positioning? Will it cause strange warping and stretching of the texture? Will you have to redraw the seams and unwrap it again?
Cloth sim doesn't change UVs or seams, so, yes, it will stretch and compress the textures realistically
That could be a blessing or a curse. Thank you for this helpful information.
Nice Tut bud! Keep it up!
Grat tutorial! wich computer do you use?
chrisp.zone/gear
holy this is so helpful
I like it
thanks)
The pillow pin dent you created is locked to 3D space instead of the pillow center of mass and will therefore not move with the pillow; This creates a pillow shape hanging from the pin dent.
once you are done with the sim and have a pillow result you like, simply apply the cloth modifier and you will have a finished asset!
sice u ll read my comment , i would say thank u so much for this great tutorial..and sorry for my bad English
THX :)
amazing!

I don't know if you entertain requests but I wish you could show me how to design a cloth bag with a draw string.
love you sir from india
Hi! Thanks to share this! I'm used to model things like sofa with 3DS Max + Marvelous designer. Do you think that a task like this would be done in Blender?
the best!

Can you please make tutorial of plastic shrink wrap on a packaging bottle
in the bean bag chair, is there anyway to make the icosphere that falls into the egg a rigid body and have it fall with gravity ? im trying to make a trampoline type cloth with a bunch of objects hitting a cloth, deforming it and rolling around! thank you!
Cloth and rigid bodies don't go together well ... I think ... anybody know?
"This is part 3...." Me: Looking at title: "4: Pressure 2..."...ok :D Btw was really compressed and functional, I really liked the video! :)
I didn't count the Intro as a real "part" of the series ... maybe I should have made that "part 0"
@@chrisprenn I didn't know there was others, I got a recommendation, but will surely check the others :)

can u recommend a similar tutorial on how to do this in 2.8 stable release?
What's the difference between the remesh method you used and remesh modifier?
Am waiting for the day when each of us has a quantum computer. End of RAM, graphics card shit.
imagine one day, we have a massive breakthrough in quantum computing, allowing the tech to be shrunk down from the size of a room or two into the size of a desktop. some people say that might never happen, but look at computers in the 50-60's and compare them to now. im optimistic and excited.
From what I understand, quantum computing isnt necessarily useful for general purpose computing, and it certainly isn't a replacement for RAM.
Einfach genial...
danke danke ;)
Wish you didnt rush that last part and perfected the balloon text
How did the stretch and wrinkle on the logo video?
sames as with the letter A in the video
I thought you were going to plump that cushion and reposition it end up, somewhere else.. :)
How can I made my balloon look like the final clip?
pin some edge loops, simulate the pressure, done ;)
tut plz on rotating icons with flying texts... indeed very interesting... i.e handles on patreon twit ig solid logos
The round cube is just a subdivided cube actually
I know this was made a few years ago but for some reason when I scale down the verticies (As shown is 2:40) even when scaling them on the z axis with proportional editing, I dont get them actually coming together like that
Is there something Im missing or doing wrong?
Can't think of anything. Just bringing the verts closer togerher along the z axis. If scaling doesnt work you can always move the top ones down and the bottom ones up...
