    Thanks Alyssa, nice presentation for us newbies..
    I've just, over the last three-months, began working here in Victoria, BC, with TRX and I have to admit this is far superior than regular free-weight exercises. And, I notice, that once I'm in the groove, that the time spent in the fitness facility is far less than in previous visits.

    Thank you! I have a TRX and OA. Stopped using it as I kept injuring myself while following other instructions of use. I did this video twice now and no injuries!

    Important note about mounting the suspension trainer: Ideally, you'd want to mount the suspension trainer such that it's pulling the door closed.
    In the case of this video, she mounted the trainer such that it might pull the door open, so she locked the deadbolt. It's important to note that the deadbolt is a thick piece of metal that inserts into the door frame, and is significantly stronger than simply locking the knob/handle on a door like this. (That's probably obvious to some of you, but maybe not to everyone, so it's worth saying)
    Otherwise, I'd strongly recommend against mounting on a door that would be pulled open by the stress you'd put on it. If you must, mount it as close to the hinges as possible, to minimize the risk of the door swinging open (of course, with the door in this video, mounting at the hinges would put you too close to the side wall 🤷)

    I just tried some of these TRX exercises (and the ones from the blog post), using a homemade suspension system (you can Google "DIY TRX suspension trainer") because I already had a bunch of webbing tape, rope, carabiners and handles from different resistance band sets, and I didn't want to pay more money for yet another set of exercise aids).
    And Alyssa is absolutely correct, it works really well and relatively easy on my joints too. (I have quite severe hip and knee arthritis, the hip being the more bothersome.)
    Previously, I had to use a chair back for support for just about every exercise I did (my leg muscles have become really weak because I get sharp pain sometimes when putting weight on my right leg). These suspension straps give the same sort of support but they don't allow you to take over with your arms.
    I stopped when my upper thighs started to get a bit achy - but it wasn't a painful ache, and my walking felt a lot easier afterwards.
    So I'm a total convert, and I'm planning to continue doing some of these daily. (The hardest part was getting the set-up working, but in the end it was fairly easy, and I can use one of the patio rafters as an anchor point.)

    I am recovering from a recent hip replacement
    My leg with new hip has much smaller VMO & the leg is skinny compared to opposite leg. Glute etc still weak
    What excersises may help balance both legs please
