Very underrated video. Nice, detailed explanations, with close up camera views. Showing all important points, especially for folks like me, not familiar with this rifle.
I really like your very open, honest approach ...refreshing I must say.....love of air gunning and shooting isn't about what expensive gear you can show off....it's about learning knowledge and discovering passion....your video shows us these in abundance. Thank you. 🙂
Mine right outta the box... Excellent.. scope is on point.... Plenty of knock down power... Great accuracy, close &long Range.... Medium & small game. Wonderful hunting with these Rifles... Rock on GAMO.......................
On mine, the focus on that scope can be adjusted by loosening the rear notched collar (located behind the rear scope mounting bracket), and then "slowly" turning the rear eyepiece housing, then re-tightening the rear notched collar, after obtaining the desired focus. Doing so eliminated the hazy, out of focus, scope images.
Grate video I have a few PCPs but they all have to be pumped ore use a compressed air source and was concentering a brake barrow incase an air source isn't available. I have been watching a few videos and you have sold me on the Gamo Swarm .22. Thanks I will be getting one today. I really liked how you explained the difference between rifles out of all the videos I have watched you was the only one who did BIG THANKS!!
I really enjoyed your revirw!! Your comparison to the Gamo Maxxim was deeply insightful. Thanks to you, I have finally decided to purchase the Whisper over the Maxxim. Having reviewed comparisons between the two for awhile, your review was the deciding factor.
I promise you yours won’t shoot that good out the box, you’ll need to try a few different brand pellets see what shoots best then if your lucky you’ll be able to shoot on target with the crappy scope they give you
Yes it does help to see over the magazine, but in the instruction manual it’s also advertised as a shock absorbing device to keep the scope from moving after repeated shots. If this is removed, you can still see the center point of the scope and I found removing it and using a set of raised mounts works just as well and slightly reduces the weight of the rifle.
That .22 pellet bounces off my head at 6:55 of the video time lol.... just got my Gamo swarm whisper at Walmart for $172.99... Never tried it yet gotta sight it in. Bro The grouping looks good.🤙🏾Aloha.
It's a great method for loading pellets . I just got my .177 yesterday , and I love it . If you're elderly , or arthritic , I wouldn't recommend it , because , it IS hard even on my messed up hands to cock , but , I do love it .
These are AMAZING air rifles. I got rid of the Gamo scope and got a Winchester 4x32 AO scope for $39 bucks from Amazon and I'm shooting dime size groups.
I'm sighting my scope today here in south Texas. I have the same rifle.. it's really nice. I also have the ruger airhawk elite 2 in .177...its a nice buy as well. Shoots 1200 fps with alloy gold flight penetrators.
In most cases yes, but according to daisy/Gamo themselves who responded to my email about this very topic, it’s not always the case. There are .22 caliber rifles with red bands and .177 rifles with green bands also both calibers with blue or black bands. There are also .25 caliber rifles with green bands in Spain. This is why they have a cart on the back of the box explaining what color is associated with the purpose of the rifle rather than the caliber of the pellet but you are right, in the USA, yes the associated band more commonly represents the caliber. According to Daisy/Gamo anyway.
They are so accurate that at 50 yards a hit a metal target the size of a Quarter at 55 Yards. I Smoked Two Chipmunks at 40 Yards last night. It’s noisy as can be.
I just ordered one Today before they are all gone. My local Walmart shows that they have (3) in stock and they have ZERO so don’t trust the online numbers. It showed only one available on Walmart.com so I don’t know if they will get more since it’s been discontinued? I did a lot of research and I don’t see any reason to pay more for the new version of the same gun? I paid $160.47 with taxes and it’s being shipped to my home with Free shipping.I really like my RUGER Blackhawk .177 Springer but I really love the 10 round magazine and I wanted a .22!Caliber as well. The reviews look great and more than likely I will replace the scope like some many others but not right away.It is supposed to be here the 1st of the week since I ordered it so late in the week but that’s ok with me.👍👏
Break Barrel rifles require experience to setup. They are a pain. They are less expensive and pack a punch for sure and accuracy is good enough. They are and never will be tack drivers. But they are good.
Thanks for the advice! I might do that. I found a cheap stock cover that has a cheek rest that you can fill yourself to your desired height, so if that doesn’t work out, I’ll try and create my own.
You are absolutely wrong about the differences between the swam whisper and the maxxim: - maxxim : CAT trigger , whisper: standard trigger ( not the SAT trigger) - maxxim ; barrel twist rate 1 in 15.75 , whisper: 1 in 20
Well good to know, and thank you for the Barrel twist rate information, I’ll have to add it to my follow up video. Daisy of America/gamo help center are the ones who answered my questions of differences between the two through an email after I contacted them wanting to know more about these two and the Notable differences so I just rolled with that. And as for the SAT trigger comment, yes it is a “ standard trigger “ just as you stated. It’s a Standard Action Trigger or S.A.T. As clearly stated on the box in the video in plan view. Just like the maxxim has a C.A.T. Which Stands for Custom Action Trigger. Thanks for the info! Have a great day.
Good to know. Thanks. Always great to hear feed back. By the way, I am not a professional air gun expert so I will make mistakes. I do apologize for any misinformation I do say. Most of my information is based on other Air gun reviewers opinions and channels such as airgundepot, AAR on air, pyramidair and many others I watch when I’m interested in acquiring a new air rifle or BB gun. I have seen in the past that these channels all make the same mistakes about triggers even calling the swarm whisper trigger customizable like a CAT TRIGGER or airgun detectives mistakenly calling it a smooth action trigger. I did email Gamo about the triggers they use and they sent me a lengthy description on the types of triggers they use from SAT, to GRT, to CAT and they claim none of the triggers they use are “ standard “ but according to Gamo it’s a GRT 3g or 4g based on the model. They too could be wrong because it’s just a help center.

@@midnightmodder I agree! its the loading ever shot for a pellet gun, It don't bother me loading a single shot break shotgun > but a pellet gun? it does all the pumping, and the pellets are so small for my big fingers. lots of times you need 2 or 3 shots That all your going to get off hunting is 3 shots at the most
I bought this gun from Walmart without paying attention to what was written on their airgun case..which said, " No Return on Airguns ". I fired one shot and that was it. The gun broke. After the first shot, there was a total loss of power, and you could see the pellet fly about as fast as I could throw it by hand. Do not buy an airgun from Walmart !

Just got the whisper for Christmas and it’s a real bear to cock. I see all these videos of people just effortlessly cocking their gamos and I’m like “am I that big of a woos?”
I Emailed the Gamo help center before making the video inquiring about this very subject and they responded that the color band coincides more with the purpose of the rifle VS the caliber or calibre of the pellet. Although most .22 rifles do have a green band and most .177 have a red band, there are .177 rifles with a green band and .22 with a red band. Also, they make a custom competition rifle available in Spain that is a .25 caliber that has a blue band.
That's wrong the Green band means it's suited for hunting the Red band means it's more suited for target shooting. It say this on the box. Whisper dB levels are around 93-95 dB just fyi. I own the same air rifle and I've tested the dB levels at least a few hundred times. I have had it for about 4 months now, I bought mine from Bass Pro here in Arizona and have around 1100 rounds through it already.
Also just so you know Gamo break barrel air rifles have been engineered so that they can be dry fired without damaging it. No other air rifle company that I know of can you do that to. Look up the video where the guy here in Arizona does it like 100 plus times in a row to prove it also they say it somewhere on the Gamo website that they engineered out the dry fire issue around the 90s
