Morning Andy, the motoring reference is more a nod to the bikes they produced, just like the Lightning. Great review and I look forward to seeing more from the new channel. 👍👍👍
These are great rifles! You can wonder how much difference it is to insert a pellet yourself then loading it from the magazine but it is so much more easy. There is one extra thing to keep in mind when shooting these, make sure you are not dry firing them but as well that you don't double load them. When you broke the barrel and not taking the shot directly you "forgot" and break the barrel again adding an extra pellet in the barrel. This is now solved with the new inertial magazines from Gamo. These where only available on the Replay 10x Magnum but with the Gen3 now being announced (Speedster Gen3) they seem to come with the inertial magazine as well. This magazine will only rotate to the next pellet after the rifle is actually fired. Thanks Andy for the video and good shooting.
I've always been a pcp enthusiast only ever owning one break barrel when I was a child. Upon seeing this and other reviews next payday I am so getting this rifle!
I purchased it about a year ago, in .22. I can nail a quarter at 25/30 yards no problem. It's great for backyard plinking or pest control at that range and still has pretty good knock down power beyond that if you can hit it. It took care of a pesty raccoon with one well placed shot. As you probably already know; it's in a different category than a pcp but the challenge makes up for it and it's a lot of fun. One word of advice; clean the barrel first!!!! It comes all gummed up with shipping anti-rust stuff. Enjoy!!!!
@@geedub7912 thanks for the info and advice. Unfortunately for us folk across the pond we're restricted to sub 12 ft lbs/16 Joules of muzzle energy unless you have a fire arms licence so I'll be going for the .177 since it has a flatter pellet trajectory and with the right pellets .177 is more suitable than .22 at this muzzle energy. I've owned many a pcp rifle over the year's, but only have my trusty BSA Scorpion SE and my Umarex Reign at the moment, oh and my POS Nova Vista neupump. The Scorpion is accurate but the Reign is on another level! I get head shot on Rabbit out at 50 to 60 yards without even trying it's that accurate! And the Nova, well, it's a paperweight. I recently bought a Roadster and within 30 shots fired the mechanism which works the magazine became unlinked. I took it back to the seller who quickly corrected the fault and I returned home with it.Within another 50 shots fired it became unlinked twice. Got the Gamo swarm maxim elite last year. 1st time I've done any real plinking since our house got burgled when I was about 12 yrs old when they took my Webley Vulcan & my dad's BSA Airsporter... 30 yrs ago. Was extremely happy with my new purchase and although not used through winter at all, I did put about 1000 pellets through it between August & October! (me and my nephew) The magazine system adds a whole new dimension of fun for airgun break barrel shooting in my opinion. Looking forward to getting out when the time is right over next few weeks. I found it accurate, (10 shots in an inch at 20 yards, the occasional flyer, may have been the pellets or me) consistent , hits quite hard. If I had a complaint then the trigger is perhaps half a pound, maybe a full pound heavier than what I would consider perfect for me, though in fairness I haven't as yet tinkered/adjusted it & read somewhere it can be adjusted quite a bit (or quite a lot by replacing a standard screw for a longer one), so as yet is perhaps an unfair criticism if it has the potential for adjustment! Good fun for certain!
Good morning Andy, how are you ? . These are 2 fabulous rifles . As you say, very clever how it loads 👌. The rifles are great all rounders . And Good pricing. Thanks for your hard work this week ! . Have a fab weekend 😀. Cheers Simon from York

Thanks for your nice in-depth reviews! Just bought the Gamo IGT Swarm Magnum Pro 10X Gen3i in .22. I'm very pleased with it, shooting narrow groups at 15 to 50 meters. Been plinking for fun in my garden a lot and doing some decent pest control by killing a lot of rats lately. I got the IGT uncapped version, as there's luckily no restriction on any type of airguns at all in The Netherlands.😀 BTW this .22 has loads of power and is capable of shooting straight through my 2cm thick garden fence as I found out when my neighbors told me why there suddenly peepholes appeared in our garden fence 🤭 The main reason for buying a break-barrel is that you don't need compressors, scuba diving tanks or high-powered hand pumps to shoot an air gun wherever I would like to go.
I love this magazine system, remember also, it is seating the pellet exactly the same every time! Very difficult to do loading a pallet with your thumb or finger. cracking little gun.👌
Just tried out my new G2 Swarm Maxxim this morning. Using H&N 9.57gr Field Trophy Green I got an average 943fps for 5 shots. So far my only criticism is with the scope tube clamp screws. I had two of them shear while bringing them to snug (did not feel I was overtightening). But scope seems to be holding okay with the other 6. Still more testing to do but was happy with accuracy at this early stage. More Gamo pellets on the way to judge their accuracy and velocity. Hopefully this rifle will hold up over time. Conceptually it's a great design. Thanks for your review.
I have the 4.5 swarm maxim speed 10 1rst gen and it's a brilliant break barrel , and oh so acurate once scope is zeroed in, and the scope is realy good too and so crystal clear, personally I prefer the 1rst gen and my next one will be the 22 magnum 10 shot 👍
Had a look at these last friday at VA but settled on the gen 1 barracade as I prefered the style and grip. Might get one of these in the future, as I'm a fan of Gamo rifles and have never had a single issue with them and the supplied scope is surprisingly clear, making it useable right out of the box, which makes it cheaper than a lot of rifles that have a slightly lower price tag but no included scope.
I am 77 years and I have given up using my other guns because my shot guns ruin my shoulder for about 4 days now and my hand guns hurt my wrist for about the same amount of time. I ran across your channel and behold a light went off in my pea size brain that why not get into air rifles. I hand a Daisy pump rifle as a kid the more I pumped it the more powerful the out going pellet went. Are these the same or do they need just one break to get the max fps from them. Thank You and I subscribed to your channel
An American reviewer (Dr Russ?) on youtube said there was a problem with the pellets "jumping" out of the Mag on this Horizontal version of this rifle.
One note should be made about the triggers on these air rifles. You can remove the trigger adjustment spring and add a 3-4mm longer one to remove the first stage and drop the pull pressure 1-2 lbs. Make a huge difference in reducing pulled shots.
I plan on doing this mod. Seems quite useful and makes perfect sense. I have an air venturi bullpup avenger. Found removing three tiny washers on the first stage of the trigger allows much less unnecessary extra play. These small mods are so helpful! Thanks!
I've just enjoyed your video. The comments on cars , is actually a nod to Harley Davidson i think p.s. I've owned a gamo roadster for two months now and i think it's awesome i just can't miss under 50 yards
You should use splatter targets. Easier to see where you're hitting. I'm 65 and my eyes aren't what they used to be. Just a thought from one of your countless subscribers. 😀😀
They look OK but how long will the plastic last will it get to the point were it wears out and the rifle become a wall hanger and a good warranty but it's all ways the same warranty runs out and the problems start sorry not for me the only good bit was the barrel made by Bsa .When bsa made there own rifles the made a spring rifle and it was fed by a magazine and it worked well but try and find one and the price will be a very high price
I've got a Gamo Speedster Gen 2 (in .22) and it's a brilliant air rifle except for the fact that it comes with a stupid fake muzzle break. Another thing that annoyed me when I first got it was the scope - it just didn't work for me so I got rid of it and stuck a Gamo red dot sight on it which has been better than a scope so far. Also I think the Gamo Speedster Gen 2s were supposed to be gas ram (?) and mine for some reason was a Springer despite the fact I ordered it brand new (about £220). Also the "inbuilt suppressor" clearly doesn't work simply because it's a barrel shroud.
Morning Andy, nice rifles and a good review as usual. The only problem I can see with them is as happened with you and you don’t keep count and cock on an empty chamber. Firing a springer without a pellet in the barrel can damage the front of the piston as there is nothing to slow it down, causing it to crash against the end of the chamber. So it is very important to keep an eye on your remaining rounds. I have a Baikal IZH61 side lever spring gun which has a 5 shot magazine and at 6ftlb with a very light weight and adjustable stock makes a great little back yard plinker very suitable for teaching youngsters to shoot.
@@stanpotter7764 Yeah, No reason why they cant have a little shoulder/stop machined into the piston to stop the tip from getting damaged... have to open one up and see. \_o_/
I shot an older Gamo in 22cal...had alot of forward recoil..wasn't impressed with the accuracy at all...im interested in this rifle...how good does it shoot..over 300 bucks now
A good review. The rifle shoots well off a tripod. however accuracy would be improved if you set the rifle down in the tripod in the same place every time, watch the position of the front stock bolt/screw moving vs tripod.
Surprising enough my birthday is coming up and I was interested in buying an airgun to take over the duties I use my Benjamin Prowler with. I LIKE the Benjamin and have used it plenty BUT the trigger is really only comparable to draggin my truck across my gravel driveway. I've done mods that were online and that improved them but it's just tough. Do these, which appear to have the same setup, have a better trigger on them? You seem to not have problems in the video but I though I watched it yesterday I don't remember seeing a trigger weight test. These light 3.5-4 pound triggers on my Rugers have me a little spoiled.
Great review...I did have swarm Magnum gen 2 but I had problems with the mag so I took it back and got the single shot Gamo Magnum with I think is more accurate..I in Belgium and air guns are not restricted.. my Magnum pushing about 28 foot pounds..it's the most powerful 22 break barrel available ..
Hi Andy! You mention about 8 minutes in to your video that the gun can be loaded manually and used as a single-shot break-barrel. Can you please tell me what procedure you use to accomplish that? It looks like you simply DON'T put the magazine in the magazine assembly and then proceed with cocking, then manually loading the pellet, then closing the barrel. Please confirm! And thanks for all your great videos!!!
Andy any chance of a review of the ATA Airborne in the future its a budget pcp and i have seen some good reviews would love to know what you think. Regards
I've always liked the look of the swarm and other variations. There were a number of reports of the scopes getting destroyed due to the recoil. At £280, think I'd put my money on the Webley nemesis X combo and have cash spare for pellets and co2.
I'm in the process of securing some pest control rights and love the look and accuracy of the Nemesis X, the only thing I'm not really convinced with it is the power output at the muzzle, and, subsequent power drop of the pellet at 25-40m. I'm hoping perhaps Vector air could tune it to get it up to around 11 ft/lbs, making me more comfortable with dropping critters. What I AM convinced on is the fact that I can't afford a PCP! lol
@@1Goldigger1 yepp... Definitely not good enough even at 15m for a clean despatch imo. Let alone at ranges further out than that, I'm guessing the velocity drop off would put it at around 5ft/lbs (maybe less) at 25-40m? I'd like to see some ballistic gel data on wound channel, penetration and energy dump at longer ranges? I can't seem to find any however?
Just bought one in .177 caliber and while sighting it in I couldn’t adjust the scope. Called Gamo and they have another scope on the way free without returning the original. No iron sights can be fitted to the scope version I have according to Gamo. I only mention that because I’m told that the scopes really take a pounding from the spring piston action and don’t last long. I can’t imagine that Gamo will keep replacing scopes free every time they fail. So an iron sight backup would be nice but then the 10 round magazine would have to be moved ??? Who designs these things anyway? And it’s not as quiet as I was lead to believe. I guess the other Gamo models are much louder. 🙉
I have the Remington Tyrant as my first air rifle. Would replacing it with one of these Gamo' be worth it? I guess the scope is better than the fixed magnification on the Remington. Is this Gamo quieter that the Remington?
Thank you , Perfect timing as I’ve been watching your videos and was going to get a Lightning as better value than the TX200. Now I think I’m going to get the .177 Speedster. Thanks
Cheaper than a tx200, doesn't mean better value, myb1 TX200 was made in 1992 and will still outperform these, would like to see if these rifles are still going strong in 30 years time.
Thank you again!!! I was waiting for so long for this ! You never disapoint you said that you will review them and you did it I kinda hopping to see the FAC versions but doesn't matter Thank you !!
My magazine won't go to correct position when the barrel is snapped leaving it to blank fire. Unless I manually move the magazine as its in motion to the correct place. Only just bought it too
i would assume the speedster and roadster names like the star names are simply gammo dellving into the old BSA gun/bike names bag, a way of instilling their new product with nostalgia, the same way Triumph motorcyces keep relaunching Tigers, Daytonas and Bonnevilles that have little to do with the classics, if you own the name why not flog it to death. save having to come up with something new, regardless how good the product !
I've had my Maxim Gen 2 about a month. My only complaint is it's not nearly as accurate as I hoped. I also have a Hatsan MOD 25 break barrel pistol . Using the Hatsan factory supplied iron sights I can hit a little better at the same distance (105 feet) than I can hit with the Maxim with it's factory supplied scope. I think if I could find a peep sight for the pistol I could hit a little better than with the factory sights. And I've tried several different brands and weights of pellets in the Maxim. My Maxim is a real disappointment. If you get one I hope yours works a lot better than mine.
The plastic metal tip pellets are the best!! In my opinion that is. What type can it shoot for pellets? Can it shoot any size same caliber? How many magazines can the handle hold ? Too bad the SECOND gen doesnt have a mag holder. Kind of going backwards in my humble opinion. Very very nice pellet rifles though. Cool as heeeeeell
I have a Gamo swarm whisper gen 1 and Gamo swarm magnum gen 2.. both very reliable air rifles..

Be nice if it comes in a gas ram vision ..?
thinking of getting one of these for my boy. looks great
I have a question, can i put on a scope on my Gamo Roadster IGT 10X GEN2 ??? Can it resist the movement of the recoil arrester ???
So if scope was upgraded would it be better for variety of small game shooting
Gamo swarm gen 2 or hstsan 125 sniper in .22 for hunting small and medium game
I shot an older Gamo in 22cal...had alot of forward recoil..wasn't impressed with the accuracy at all...im interested in this rifle...how good does it shoot..over 300 bucks now
A good review. The rifle shoots well off a tripod. however accuracy would be improved if you set the rifle down in the tripod in the same place every time, watch the position of the front stock bolt/screw moving vs tripod.
Exactly.
I was a bit surprised that your grouping wasn’t a bit smaller. Is that normal for those guns? I still like them both
Andy any chance of a review of the ATA Airborne in the future its a budget pcp and i have seen some good reviews would love to know what you think. Regards
My son has the swarm hornet in .22 it does the job well.
When are these due to be available in the UK?
at 10:00 you mention that the joule is 15.03, how is that possible since its been marketed and sold as a 24 joule airgun?
because this is a U.K. spec rifle
What I AM convinced on is the fact that I can't afford a PCP! lol
@@havok2396 ah good point, I thought it was at around 11ft lbs, just checked and it's under 8!!
Thanks for the review Andy, really enjoyed.
next model of Gamo is the SUV? ;-)
I notice you say silencer as opposed to supressor ,is that the correct term for air guns?
I have the Remington Tyrant as my first air rifle. Would replacing it with one of these Gamo' be worth it? I guess the scope is better than the fixed magnification on the Remington. Is this Gamo quieter that the Remington?
I'd go for the gamo the new Remington's are made in china
Thank you , Perfect timing as I’ve been watching your videos and was going to get a Lightning as better value than the TX200.
Now I think I’m going to get the .177 Speedster. Thanks
Cheaper than a tx200, doesn't mean better value, myb1 TX200 was made in 1992 and will still outperform these, would like to see if these rifles are still going strong in 30 years time.
Thank you again!!!
I was waiting for so long for this !
You never disapoint
you said that you will review them and you did it
I kinda hopping to see the FAC versions but doesn't matter
Thank you !!
My magazine won't go to correct position when the barrel is snapped leaving it to blank fire. Unless I manually move the magazine as its in motion to the correct place. Only just bought it too
Thanks for your reviews I would love to ask a question if I can put a scope on my roadster?
Yes you can!
Gamo needs some full auto gand held and riffles in there line up. .177 and .22
i love Airguns but every video i watch i cant help thinking i wish i could do some metal detecting in that huge garden lol
i would assume the speedster and roadster names like the star names are simply gammo dellving into the old BSA gun/bike names bag, a way of instilling their new product with nostalgia, the same way Triumph motorcyces keep relaunching Tigers, Daytonas and Bonnevilles that have little to do with the classics, if you own the name why not flog it to death. save having to come up with something new, regardless how good the product !
this comment just sent me down a google rabbit hole. i never thought to make the connection between BSA bikes and BSA rifles.
The thing I wanted to know, is it a springer or a gas ram? DOH! (the 2 are quite different to shoot)
cant wait for the speedster turbo gti 16v convertible
Aren't they coming out with a Gamo 3
How accurate is the Scope? I have been putting red dot sites on all my rifles.
With that loading system are they pellet fussy?
Just a thought.
Hi Andy, would you please do the .22 roadster, also are they spring or igt?
Thanks.
Excellent review. Can anyone tell me if these Gamos use their gas spring or a conventional spring to power the guns?
These are gas. Gamo's cheapest guns are sometimes spring, but not these.
Gas but u can get this in spring for a few dollars cheaper. I Kno cause I got 1 in wood stock. It's so dang nice lemme tell ya
No the UK version are springers due to laws.
I have a gamo airrifle that is a very good shot
Really nice pellet clip setup i like that
The plastic metal tip pellets are the best!!
Those pellets are absolutely awful
