Something you failed to mention about Josuke and Tooru's dynamic is that they're the antithesis of each other. While Josuke is a person desesperately obsessed with finding out his own memories and his past, Tooru is a person always living in the past, every single time he's on a panel he almost always mentions his memories and that he remembers things, like how he remembers the doctor, or how he reminisces about Yasuho all the time. When stripped down to its cores Josuke is basically a character with no memories of his own while Tooru is almost exclusively made out of memories, even his last words reference his own memories.
calling josuke someone "obsessed with the past" is genuinely a pretty embarrassing display of a lack of reading comprehension. he straight up says at the university hospital parking lot that he doesn't care about his memories anymore and that he just wants to have a new life where he can help holly as his, not kira's, mother
@@IEatYourSandwiches that scene where he and Yasuho are talking in the parking lot and he mentions what his own very first memories were, I kind of teared up there because of the development Josuke went through throughout this part
@@IEatYourSandwiches My original comment wasn't about Josuke's growth as a character, of course he grows past his desire to find out ''who he is'', that's the entire point of his arc. He chooses to live his own life, but for a significant amount of time he _is_ obsessed with finding out who he is. But I'm not talking about his arc, just his dynamic with the main villain and the interesting traits both have surrounding memories.
@@IEatYourSandwiches That’s the end of his character arc. The entire plot is kicked off by his desperate desire to know himself. After defeating calamity, he then moves on with his life
I never realized that the solution to the final battle was perfectly foreshadowed in the first chapter. The first image we see of soft & wet is a bubble coming out of the star birthmark, we know at the end that it's not actually a bubble but a infinitely rotating string. The best part is that we only see this through the picture Yasuho took of the birthmark with her phone which is actually her stand. We don't see it actually coming out of Josuke's body because its an invisible bubble but it can be channeled through Yasuhos stand!
i also like how it allowed for this dual final fight kind of situation with josuke getting the big grand jojo finale style fight while yasuho gets to confront her ex directly
What I liked most about Jojolion was that the enemies was used as a springboard for the plot, and not as a hinderance. Part 2 and 7 is similar in that sense, and in part 3 almost every enemy is a hinderance to get to dio. The long fights in 8 also enhances that
YES YES YES, I always rate the minor villains on the spectrum of how cool that guy is but with the JoJolion villains even if I don't have any personal enjoyment to the character or fight, I would still enjoy the arc based on how it extends the things that has been built up and how it pushes the plot forward, Like each part has an endgame goal, defeat dio, get the corpse, and yada yada but you can never guess the endgame of JoJolion at all, no one expected the guardrail!
Yes!! In most other parts the journey stops briefly so they can have a fight. In Jojolion, each fight is a stepping stone that advances to story! That's why the fights always feel so natural and real
Jojolion has definitely meant a lot to me ever since i was caught up with it and this video perfectly says why, the part brought out so many interesting charracters and i love how different it was from previous jojo parts but felt like the culmination of jojo up to this point. I hope Jojolands can do the same thing, thank you Jojolion
@@wakandaforever8597 Please dont be shy about stating things like this. Jojolion has the best characters in the series hands down, and some of the best writing. New kira, gappy, jobin, literally they're all great. I love it. *But.* Why just abandon holly when that was gappys main goal? Guess that's an abandoned plot point. (And no, him finding himself as his own person doesn't excuse him dropping this motivation, the cast still owed Holly, and she wasn't portrayed as a negligent b**** like alternate josukes mom, she was meant to be redeemed or saved. Or at least written that way.) Why just have a whole issue dedicated to exposition, but with little to no explanation? "Rock humans are..." Ok. Cool. They really are cool. But how and why did they all congregate? Do they need to actually exist, or could they have just been a group of nefarious humans like a gang? Would anything have changed? What relationship do they have to the lokakaka? Guess that's just an abandoned plot point. Where the hell do rock animals live? How come no one sees them? They aren't stands. Where are their habitats? How could a rock human control them, why haven't stand users ever controlled them? What are the wall eyes? They're like the devil's palm? I guess I'll say it's alluded to at least. I get it. Things in Jojo are random. In some cases it can be chalked up to, "because it's bizarre." And that's okay. What I don't like is when major plot points are "just because." No matter how entertaining I thought Jojolion actually was. Tooru was introduced way too late, Jobin made much more sense as a villain and I thought he'd be the one. And the ending, no matter how much I liked the last panel, felt like a cop out. "Let's just focus on a random rock animal and Jonathan to placate fans, so we can lead into a wholesome final panel." It was very messy, I sincerely hope Araki utilizes some of these plot points in Jojolands, but if not, this will definitely be my least favorite part besides part 5. Cool concepts don't stand on their own. Also. And finally. My man Gappy didn't get the girl... And that's okay, except there's volumes of tension written to allude to it. There is no regard for chekovs gun in the part and I won't accept it as a writing technique. No matter how "Kool" the part is.
@@thezambianprince3893 There are 3 possibilities for The Part 9 JoJo: - The child/children of Gappy and Yasuho - Josefumi's infant sibling in 110 (who knows...their dad could still be Sadafumi Kujo) - Kira's estranged second cousin, the grandchild of one of Joseph's siblings
Off topic but I personally really loved the wonder of u arc and reading in monthly with everybody in the community. Ik a lot of people had issues with it but I encourage people who didn't like it to binge read cause I guarantee you'll like it more. It's one of the best jojo arcs imo.
I enjoyed the arc a lot. The only thing I had an issue with was how abrupt the ending was. There were so many plot points made but never brought up again near the end and I was hoping to see josuke at least thank yasuho for helping him lol. Also wish more characters had a bit more involvement in the plot before they were just killed off like kei and caato(who at least had flashback scenes). I still loved jojolion nonetheless though
9:24. Then that means Hey Ya's ability doesn't have the ability to Cheer on Pocoloco, and actually it gives Pocoloco the ability to Cheer on himself, maybe even others.
That's actually a really interesting take on Hey Ya! (which is probably in my top 5 favorite stands btw) Maybe Pocoloco always had it in himself and he's convinced it's the power of his stand!
@@StudioAlexOfficial and maybe that's why he isn't an ally or an assassin for the cast. He's just a normal civilian that has potential for power, but uses it for his convenience rather than as a fighter. Example, Tonio and Pearl Jam or Aya and her Cinderella.
@@StudioAlexOfficial And since depending on how the user's heart evolves their given power, technically Hey Ya could potentially get stronger. For example, if Hey Ya had a user that wanted to defeat the opponent, perhaps the 'Cheer' ability could evolve into something that could turn the cheers into actual words of power, and could allow the user to be temporarily become superhuman. Or something along those lines.
this is definitely one of the best videos on JoJolion i’ve seen on youtube. your analysis on The Wonder of You arc really solidified it being one of favorites not only in the part but for all of JoJo’s as well
Damn. I really started tearing up watching this video. Perfectly encapsulates why I freaking love JoJolion with all my heart, and it's so nice hearing from the others in the JoJo community on how it has positively affected them too.
Jojolion has my new favourite ending, not my favourite part(that's 7). I also like that it hints to josuke being a returning character in part 9,maybe a Joseph like figure in part 3.
That would be awesome but I'd doubt he'd play such a major role as Joseph did, since Araki says he just wants to see Yasuho and him happy. I'd be overjoyed with just a short cameo honestly
Let's not forget Jouske straight up mudered the reporter from pangea land. He knew what was the most likely scenario and he still sent the package to the dude, knowing full well he was sending him to the slaughterhouse. Just to tease the HD. That's by far the worst thing a main Jojo has ever done.
I only got into jojo like a year ago, and only caught up to jojolion when it was half way through the WoU arc, so I feel like I didn't get to savor jojolion as much as the older fans 😭 so it's so touching to hear how important it was following it monthly for you guys!! I teared up when the guests started chiming in, since I watch their videos on jjl too! I can't wait for jojolands to be my jojolion!! So exciting to be around to see the beginning of the (probably?) final part of jojo!
I’m really bad at expressing how I feel about something. A lot of the time I usually just am like “I like it” which makes me feel the need to see other people put it into words because I’m bad at it. Idk if that’s valid or if I’m just stealing people’s opinions But I really appreciate this video, because it beautifully put JoJolion’s quality into words and solidified its place in my head. So thank you for putting these beautiful things that might’ve gone over my head.
Jojolion is in my eyes Araki’s Best work and I can’t thank him enough jojolion was with me in the good moments and bad moments in my life it cheer me up and It will be my heart ❤️ and can’t wait to see what other adventures we have on Jojo Lands
Still heavily on the fence on how I feel about Tooru as the final villain, and maybe it's cope, but I really enjoy your interpretation of how he contrasts Josuke
Just finished reading it today and oh man... It's flawed, in terms of story consistency and all that stuff. BUT, everything else was absolutely flawless in my eyes that I dont really care about the nitpicks. This is Araki at his most experimental and bold, both in storytelling and artwork, and he does not disappoint.
Personally Jojolion really suprised me cause it feels to me very personal, there are so many characters i relate to and understand, Josuke, Joshu, Jobin etc etc it feels enough insane, yet somehow still really chill to make sense Morioh in Jojolion is beautiful and the sort of place i would imagine as a comfort place, i remember always being excited each month for new chapter
JoJolion has no grand designs or plans. Part 1 is small-scale and limited to a house and then a town but Jonathan and Dio are so archetypically good and evil, respectively, that you can believe that the adventures were far grander. Parts 2 and 3 are obviously grandiose. Part 4 is about people in Morioh but then a serial killer comes about, and given that he is determined the plot can be seen to pick up come Shigechi’s death. Part 5 spans all of Italy and focuses on the intrigue of the mafia. Part 6 ends the Joestar line and many of the battles are dramatic. Part 7 has a goal everyone guns for and has themes of bad patriotism. Part 8 is literally a person trying to find himself and then failing at procuring a fruit. He goes to an apartment. He finds an infatuated daughter after being adopted into a family. He wanders around town, lost. He passes by an alleyway where people scams each other with leaflittered paths. He battles with beetles. And even after the focus is on the TG university Rock Humans, it is just them using the fruit vs Josuke using the fruit vs Jobin using the fruit. Everything is low-stakes. That is fairly refreshing being that JoJo plots are high-stakes and escalating.
@@iantaakalla8180 Part 8 has a main story, it's said at the beginning and at the end, "this story is about breaking the curse" this story isn't really much about Josuke, but about the Higashikata Household itself
Need to to a re-read now that its complete but it almost seemed like the main message of this arc is to live in the present. Most of the antagonists seem motivated by the past, Past slights real or perceived, family legacy, past glories. and the rest are so focused on the future they don't realize what their missing or what harm their causing in the present. And then there's Jobin who swings between those 2 extreames.
The thing is Tooru is obsessed with the rock humans greater goal, he uses the idea of memories and dreams to manipulate and torture the people he’s fighting. He doesn’t care about any of these, he thinks they make you weak. He believes that if when you die you leave behind your dreams, you failed at life somehow. Josuke on the other hand cherishes his memories that he’s created. All the memories he’s made as Josuke are extremely important to him. He forged a new and better path thanks to his memories and relationships. Whereas Tooru is obsessed with the future of the rock humans without actually caring about any of them, he is the perfect inhuman calamity antithesis to the miracle human that is Josuke.
I'll be completely honest; ever since I've watched and read every part of JoJo, Jojolion was always my least favorite. I knew it was objectively good and the art absolutely peaked, but it never really clicked with me. The ending felt abrupt, underwhelming and anticlimactic to me, especially since I grew increasingly frustrated with the Calamity storyline dragging on for so long. However your video truly changed my perspective and made me reflect on why did I dislike Jojolion. I grew too attached to JoJo's usual formula of a clear cut main villain and the quest being completed with a more or less upbeat tone. I overlooked that the entire point of Jojolion was excentricity, breaking away from the mold and a completely new and different themes than the previous parts. I wasn't used to the monthly release, so when a new chapter would come out, I would speedread it to see where the plot will go and then forget everything else. Now though, I've reconsidered my thoughts, reflected deeper on Jojolion's core themes and I'm so happy to say that I've changed my mind. This part is really special and I'm so happy that I finally got to appreciate it!
I wish there were more open people like you tbh. IMO if you dislike it that's fine, but I think we can agree this is the most unique JoJo part yet, Araki went completely bollocks this time
Well maybe for you it took forever because we had to wait a whole month for every single chapter. Give it a chance, read the part again, but now since it's complete you can read the story at once
@@deuce5546 idk man, ive read it 3 times already and is for me at least the most mediocre part, like the villains are so boring and unisteresting not to mention Tooru being absolute trash, the fights are garbage tier, the side characters disappear for like 2 thirds of the part making me not like them cause i barely know them and a shit load of unaswered questions make me despise JoJolion, it may be unique but unique doesn't equal good.
Funny, we thought Araki was gonna end the series on a cliffhanger, and we were right, but it was a different cliffhanger than we thought. Just WHICH cake will Josuke choose...
I was personally in the camp of people who were somewhat disappointed by Jojolion’s conclusion, and I think a part of that was because it was so important to me as the first part I was reading as it was being published. I’ve been rereading it in anticipation of Part 9 and I’m glad I watched this video, because I think it helped me gain a new appreciation for the ending, so I’ll keep it in mind as I re-experience the final fight. Also, great to see some other familiar faces. That was a nice surprise!
Awesome vid! Reading JoJolion every month has been such an experience. Also thank you for getting so many youtubers to say a few words about how special part 8 is. Looking forward to JoJolands!
This is the best Jojolion review i have seen. I cant thank you enough for making this video when i was hopelessly searching reviews to find why i loved jojolion so much and this one is truly brilliant.
I really liked jojolion.. it was an adventure that i could, connect more in a bizarre way, finding who you really are is a really difficult task growing up, and i found it specially difficult for being gay in a family that didnt really talked about the subject with me before, so until i was 15 yrs old i would just be lost, not knowing why i was so unhappy and feeling like a sore thumb, but i met someone that was part of the lgbt community and was amazed, i have finally found what was wrong with me! I was trying to be someone else! That is why jojolion is such a great story for me, i could really believe in Josuke’s situation, and why his journey was so epic, finding yourself is a great feeling, and i could feel that same feeling again reading the last chapter of jojolion
I like how stands in the new universe have generally become more intimate except for Hot Pants's Cream Starter which can literally be grabbed and taken from her
I totally feel the part at the start about getting into JoJo. When I started watching, all I cared about was gauging what it was about-I even said to myself that I was only going to watch episode 1 and drop it. Then, I got hooked on the stone mask and “JoJo’s” relationship with Dio and decided to watch until it explained everything. I ended up being totally sold on watching everything when they killed off the main character not even halfway through the season and replaced him with an entirely new character 50 years later!
I love jojo because at times its so out there Like having a Italian setting with a schizophrenic mob boss and a joestar and brando main character having a female jojo with a black priest for part 6 Having a paraplegic main character with Jesus's corpse and having the president of America as the villain A main character with amnesia and corrupt doctors who are experimenting on patients who don't know about it
Just finished the manga. It was beautiful with Yasuho's tears of joy that Josuke finally settled with his new found family. I will be 50-60 by the time Jojolands finished. LOL.
My favorite part of Jojolion is the characters. Even minor antagonists who only show up for a handful of chapters are fleshed out and given attention. I think besides the Aphex brothers, which is intentional and the antagonists who are quite literally non sentient (Ginko Leaves) every character is fleshed out. It also helped by making characters hard to guess how important or unimportant they were moving forward. Daiya for example is given so much love and attention for her antagonist arc, and then is minor character afterword. The opposite happens with Kato, who by the time she's introduced the idea of a character being unimportant and just there to make the world feel more alive was expected, yet there she goes in the final arc being a major character.
I still think something is missing. That something is certainly tied to how it ended earlier than what people expected, and I'm not talking about leftover plot points like flashback-man. Also, I'm disappointed by Kei's role at the end. I didn't expect her to come back in the story after so long to just die. Still, Jojolion was great overall, just didn't stick the landing in my opinion.
jojolion. it used to mean my life to me. every month would be dictated by the jojolion chapter that came before. nothing really meant anything to me except for jojolion. most of the time it was "airing", i was sitting and waiting for a new chapter. now with it ending, i dont really have anything to look forward to.
There's always right now, today, and soon. You can help clean around the city in some way. I sometimes randomly build fairy circles but large enough that small critters can play and hide around. There's always a chance to help someone or something in some way. Create some ripples, it's all we have in this land.
Looking forward to finally getting into steel ball run and jojolion. I’ll admit I had been salty for years that they scrapped my boys OG Josuke and Giorno, but this video gets me a little excited for a new experience and characters. Thanks for it!
The only unsatisfying thing about JJL was at the end when Josuke passed by his mother and didn't talk to her. I know, his character is written to be Josuke, the guy who has no memorys and no live before. But Yasuho saw that she probably was still looking for her son. This makes me sad
@@demon_hawkeye5269 Nope didn't miss it at all. Got it upon reading. Josuke even explains it. Yada yada yada im a new man now neither josuke nor kira I am Gogeta bullshit. This women is actively searching for him for the rest of her life and wants closure. Least the fucker can do is say it's me and i am different now. How hard is that?
Even if I haven’t been with the series as long as others, when I started to read the Jojo manga (that being part 6) I knew about Jojolion. I remember reading Part 7 and then seeing on r/Shitpostcrusaders the chapter 100 event and I was excited even if I hadn’t read the part yet. I did although catch up at ch 104 but have so many memories reading the series, when I read the first chapter, how I felt, and even reading the manga panel where Kira is wrrying, albeit while sitting on a toilet. Eitherway it’s meant a lot to me and I’ve always known it as ‘that one part that’s still being written’ but even so. It’s bittersweet and sad. But hopefully part 9 can encapsulate the feeling of part 8 and make it 10 times better. But all in due time.
I am so glad you made a video about it. When I saw your why jojolion is awesome I am really excited about jojolion. I might have skip part 8 if I haven't saw your video.
I hated the ending bc i didn't want it to end. I secretly wanted part 8 to be longer and now I'm in pain because it ended So no i didn't hate the ending, i hated that it ended whatever
Jojolion is my favorite part now it’s like peak jojo just something about it made me hooked from the beginning and I can’t wait for us all to start part 9 soon! I really like josuke 8 and yasuho but rai mamezuku is pretty damn cool also
The Stand fights were awesome in this part, but I might have to argue that Araki making his Stands less like "spirits with crazy abilities that fight for you" and more like "spirits that give you hyper-specific powers you NEED to use right to win a battle" goes back to Stone Ocean. Stone Free not only fights for Jolyne, but it lets her unravel into string. The Planet Waves/Survivor fight was a straight up fistfight, and Limp Bizkit, while having a pretty simple power that turned on its user, was one of the most raw fights in the entire series imo. (I also forgot Sky High, which is pretty much a way for Rykiel to steal your body heat that has no other combat capabilities as it's literally a bracelet.) tl;dr Part 6, to me, was when Araki realized that Stands could be more that just punchy ghost spirit
something people often don't Realize is the fact the JoJo anime series itself has been going off for a decade However JoJo as Manga has actually been around since 1987so JoJo is going on fourty years roughly. almost
Anyone else not read part 8 yet but still watch these videos? I haven't even read part 7 yet either. Feels like Araki improves as a writer with each subsequent part.
@@nathaniel04 imo part 8 is the worst part. These guys like it so much because they grew up with it releasing monthly. It has SOOO many flaws and is a snooze fest.
@@nathaniel04 I was too harsh. It does have interesting things to it but i feel right after it goes back and drags on for too long. But you may like it
Just finished jojolion and Im so happy this video exists, it really helped put the emotions i had from reading into words. From the beginning something about part 8 captivated me so much more than the other parts. The characters, their goals, it all felt much more realistic and personal compared to any other part. For the longest time i've been saying part 7 is the best part, but after reading jojolion i can say without a doubt it is my favorite
The only thing that I will say about Jojolion that even if there is no main villain in it. Tooru's motivations are lacking. There is a fantastic story there, but it isn't fleshed out as much as it could be. Tooru believes that all that's left are dreams, the rock humans, or at least Tooru, dream to be something they are not. They know what they are, but dream to be able to live in human society without issues. On the contrast we have Josuke, you could say he was created by the dream of Josefumi, he is all what is left. He doesn't know who he is, but is the dream that is left. We see a lot of Tooru and Wonder of U, yet the only thing I got what he was really about was his last few lines. With a little bit of elaboration, and doesn't need much, it could have been even better
I mean it's not like it came out of nowhere lol, everytime he wasn't onscreen fighting he was reminiscing about the past, whether it was his relationship with yasuho or his failure to invent wireless charging and become famous like he dreamed of doing. Hell, the music that he listens to is even decades old which, under normal circumstances, isn't weird but with everything put together it paints a very different image, especially knowing how old he _actually_ is.
Exactly, he could be one of the best villain, together with Valentine, but he really lacks the space it needed to fully develope and show himself as a full character rather than a last minute final villain.
I agree. I was also wondering what does he need all of this money for - his main motivation was "selling rokakaka fruits for 200 000 $ each, even people like Bill Gates will buy it" and I am just sitting there wondering: what for? 👁👄👁 you only need money to buy a nice house in Grand Canyon and chill with other rocks, maybe some cash to buy those gucci teddybears to drip yourself out, but what are you going to do with the rest of all this money?!? take over the world?!?!? are rock humans reptilians?!?!?!?!?
I agree that I like what Araki did with some of the ideas, but there’s just so many set-ups without pay-off that I can’t deny that I‘m unsatisfied with it. Flashback Man, the weird flash forward, the story of that weird quiet baby, what exactly the bitemarks are… all of these are unsolved, but not in a mysterious way that has any meaning, these just got dropped. Also, Soft & Wet going from the coolest stand in earlier chapters to becoming Ceasar 2 to later become Vanilla Ice is a worse evolution than even Echoes Act 3. And lastly, Josuke’s and Yasuho‘s designs are probably the most uninteresting in the entire series. But I agree with the rest with your statements. If Jojolion ever gets an anime, it‘ll hopefully cut out all these forgotten plot points and explain why Josuke lost the unique quirks of his bubbles. Maybe it’s because he formed an identity and got more grounded in reality, so his stand abilities got nerfed to reflect that. But I wanna hear something, or it‘ll still feel like a retcon. The villains are really good tho and the story feels the most dynamic, I totally agree there.
But Josuke never lost his bubble abilities, he just started using them in other ways. The bubbles have the use of either stealing properties, "encasing" objects and people, and exploding (which came directly from Killer Queen). This falls into the "star finger" territory: just because he uses it less doesn't mean he lost the ability as a whole.
@@tak-pa3134 eh… I‘d rather have the next Part start relatively fresh and develop its own ideas like pretty much every part since 3, I‘m super over Jojolion tbh
Man I had already cried reading the chapter but now I´m again. Jojolion for me, like I think many others, was my first experience with jojo being month to month reading. I came thinking SBR was the best and expecting JJL to be good but nothing else, man I have chills writing this. JJL is about breaking a curse, the lack of memories, the need of an identity, the illness, whatever you consider a curse to be. I love Jojolion, to me, this feeling right now thinking about the whole serie in general made me live is the most precious thing I´ll keep in my life. (Sorry about the english in this text, hi from Argentina).
Totally agree. Part 8 was so thematically dense and it resonated with so many people, including myself. Glad you liked the video! Greetings to Argentina!
They explained exactly what they were getting at right after, you straw manning proves nothing. They were talking about the maniac part and the remorse sruff was referring to their evil actions being inhuman and out of control, this was to segway into talking about the more complex and human villains of JoJolion.
Love this. I am still deciding on how I want to rate this. For me P4 has been my #1 of the whole series, followed by P6. They are all so good though (except maybe P1, P2 lol)
I do disagree with you on part 4, for me the town of morioh in part 4 felt like a character of its own and felt truly alive, the landmarks also really helped with that. In part 8, morioh just dosen't feel fleshed out at all and very bland but I'm also aware that Morioh was not the focus of part 8 so I can't be upset at it lol
Yeah I kind of think it's the opposite than what was said in the video. Part 4 was about the town and the locations, about the vibe and lifestyle of being in a small town. But in part 8 it feels more like the characters give the town its identity, all the Higashikata's, Yasuho and mother, The doctors of TG, Kira, Josefumi and his mother, all of them give the town life, and even though we only meet a small amount of the inhabitants of Morioh, they feel so prevalent and alive in the town, they're all involved and related to the major locations and through them the town gains its life
I agree while Morioh was enhanced in some aspects in part 8, I still totally think that Part 4s Morioh totally takes the cake and really feels like it's own character even. Part 8s Morioh falls behind only a little bit in my eyes because I feel that it wasn't as copacetic with the rest of the product (i.e. characters, plot, situations, etc) as the Morioh in part 4 where the setting itself and what was happening in it with the story was all very charming and smooth
In part 4 the characters interacted with Morioh. In part 8 Morioh interacted with the characters. The town itself feels more proactive than reactive, making part 8 Morioh feel like a character. I believe that is what Alex was trying to explain.
I think part 7 was massively overhyped to me so I was disappointed in it. Not that it was bad but I felt it didnt deliver on everything I was expecting from it. Part 4 has been my favourite since I watched the anime and after being disappointed with part 7, I thought part 4 would always be my favourite. But I've never been so captivated reading anything in my life as i was with part 8 and I'd say this is definitely my new favorite part
I do love jojolion a lot but it’s hard for me to look past how messy much of the plotting is. I appreciate the themes but and the general story but I really do think it ended kinda weakly
this is a hot take but I think that part 7 and 8 plus should be called something different, because they don't continue the story of parts 1-6, they start a new one I would call it "Jojo's Bizzare Adventure:Restart" and, with part 7 being one and 8 being 2
One things for sure is I'll never call the fruit Locacaca just because I think Rokakaka sounds cooler. Not to mention it sounds more rock themed given what it does.
I’LL SEE YOU ALL IN JOJOLANDS!
Hell yeah I'm down for it!
WE GOING TO JOJOLANDS BOIS
So excited! The fun's not over yet
no I'm not going to be in the manga

“i thought i saw a hornet, oh i see. it was just a memory of mine” WHOS CUTTING ONIONS
calling josuke someone "obsessed with the past" is genuinely a pretty embarrassing display of a lack of reading comprehension. he straight up says at the university hospital parking lot that he doesn't care about his memories anymore and that he just wants to have a new life where he can help holly as his, not kira's, mother
Holy shit
Damn
I love how the final fight for Josuke is directly between him and Wonder of U. It’s a cool twist for the final battle to be against the stand itself
Never thought of that but you're right!
i also like how it allowed for this dual final fight kind of situation with josuke getting the big grand jojo finale style fight while yasuho gets to confront her ex directly
@@kaystar64 Didn't even think about that, but that is hella cool
I think it’s also the first time a final villain didn’t have a time related stand ability
@@tokurider8802 See I liked that too. *Holy shit* I got tired of every JoJo villain having some time-related power it was starting to get trite.
That's why the fights always feel so natural and real
so true besties
guys guys i think you're missing the point jojolion isn't about the enemies it's about breaking a curse
The only fight in jojolion that I didn't like was Joshuu vs Milagro man, but other than that I loved every fight scene.
I agree! It was so different but felt so “JoJo.” I’ll see you in Jojolands!
well jojolion is a great part, except for the flashforward that made no sense

Off topic but I personally really loved the wonder of u arc and reading in monthly with everybody in the community. Ik a lot of people had issues with it but I encourage people who didn't like it to binge read cause I guarantee you'll like it more. It's one of the best jojo arcs imo.
It was a joy to read monthly. The battle felt more desperate and intense with every chapter!
After re-reading jojolion, I say wonder of u arc is much better than I expected.
And that makes it even better that he actually WON the race! All these jacked stand users and basically a normal guy wins
Or something along those lines.
so its basically Cheap Trick's cool cousin
I still think Steel Ball Run is the best part, but Jojolion was definitely a delight to read through.
Couldn’t agree more
this is definitely one of the best videos on JoJolion i’ve seen on youtube. your analysis on The Wonder of You arc really solidified it being one of favorites not only in the part but for all of JoJo’s as well
Wow, thank you!! I adored the Wonder of You arc, I’m glad you did as well!
Damn. I really started tearing up watching this video. Perfectly encapsulates why I freaking love JoJolion with all my heart, and it's so nice hearing from the others in the JoJo community on how it has positively affected them too.
It means a lot to hear! I loved hearing from them as well!
Jojolion has my new favourite ending, not my favourite part(that's 7). I also like that it hints to josuke being a returning character in part 9,maybe a Joseph like figure in part 3.
Oh gosh if we see an older Josuke in part 9 I'm gonna lose my mind that would be amazing
That would be awesome but I'd doubt he'd play such a major role as Joseph did, since Araki says he just wants to see Yasuho and him happy. I'd be overjoyed with just a short cameo honestly
P8 was directly mirroring p2 in the same way p7 was p1. So old josuke seems likely imo.
@@billyyyn i hope that's the case, considering the way Johnny made a cameo in part 8 wasn't exactly him getting a happy ending

I’m really bad at expressing how I feel about something. A lot of the time I usually just am like “I like it” which makes me feel the need to see other people put it into words because I’m bad at it. Idk if that’s valid or if I’m just stealing people’s opinions

The last bit of the video really hit home for me, and that is exactly why JoJolion is my favorite piece of fiction. Thanks for making this video.

Personally
Jojolion really suprised me
cause it feels to me very personal, there are so many characters i relate to and understand, Josuke, Joshu, Jobin etc etc
it feels enough insane, yet somehow still really chill to make sense
Morioh in Jojolion is beautiful and the sort of place i would imagine as a comfort place, i remember always being excited each month for new chapter
Whereas Tooru is obsessed with the future of the rock humans without actually caring about any of them, he is the perfect inhuman calamity antithesis to the miracle human that is Josuke.
as someone who has a gap of lost memory due to a car accident, this hits hard.
the way you describe jojolion felt like a statement everyone needs to hear even though you were explaining the writing 👏🏾
Glad you enjoyed! I don't think enough people know how valuable they truly are just being themselves
Turns out the real memories were the memories we made along the way.
this was so emotional. I loved every part of this manga and it's so much joy to see how it has affected so many people
Where can you read part 8?
Definitely not mango cake
I looved the ending! And Joseph coming back made me soo happy!
I'm glad the story resonated with you so much!
I want to reread Jojolion with the hindsight I have now might do the whole series
I like how stands in the new universe have generally become more intimate except for Hot Pants's Cream Starter which can literally be grabbed and taken from her
The weird and stylish design in Jojolion remind me a lot of the weird set design in A Clockwork Orange, and I'm just now realizing that similarity.

I love jojo because at times its so out there
Like having a Italian setting with a schizophrenic mob boss and a joestar and brando main character
having a female jojo with a black priest for part 6
Having a paraplegic main character with Jesus's corpse and having the president of America as the villain
A main character with amnesia and corrupt doctors who are experimenting on patients who don't know about it
Just finished the manga. It was beautiful with Yasuho's tears of joy that Josuke finally settled with his new found family. I will be 50-60 by the time Jojolands finished. LOL.
Flashback man still not explained...
The main villain was killed by the seating. Rip jobin

The only unsatisfying thing about JJL was at the end when Josuke passed by his mother and didn't talk to her. I know, his character is written to be Josuke, the guy who has no memorys and no live before. But Yasuho saw that she probably was still looking for her son. This makes me sad

I love the part too! But they could've let me survive
(I also forgot Sky High, which is pretty much a way for Rykiel to steal your body heat that has no other combat capabilities as it's literally a bracelet.)
tl;dr Part 6, to me, was when Araki realized that Stands could be more that just punchy ghost spirit
I agree. Part 6 was the start of the transition. Yet another reason why part 6 was incredible
something people often don't Realize is the fact the JoJo anime series itself has been going off for a decade
However JoJo as Manga has actually been around since 1987so JoJo is going on fourty years roughly. almost

Meanwhile in Jojolion
Yoshikage Kira is a Joestar

Well you called it koichi xD
I agree. I was also wondering what does he need all of this money for - his main motivation was "selling rokakaka fruits for 200 000 $ each, even people like Bill Gates will buy it"
and I am just sitting there wondering: what for? 👁👄👁 you only need money to buy a nice house in Grand Canyon and chill with other rocks, maybe some cash to buy those gucci teddybears to drip yourself out, but what are you going to do with the rest of all this money?!? take over the world?!?!? are rock humans reptilians?!?!?!?!?

@@mrfact03s yeah? Then explain to me who Flashback man is...
@@StudioAlexOfficial I loved the vídeo! Keep it in this way bro!
This man fr started playing Nier automata music and I got flashbacks😭
holy asking other jojotubers and including it at the end of the video is peak
Yo! Awesome vid. But have to give extra props for Air Gear OST
🔥🔥🔥
"every jojo main villian is a maniac crazy guy with no remorse"
Yeah...Tooru
They explained exactly what they were getting at right after, you straw manning proves nothing. They were talking about the maniac part and the remorse sruff was referring to their evil actions being inhuman and out of control, this was to segway into talking about the more complex and human villains of JoJolion.
Just saw this, and knew I had to subscribe instantly
I'm happy you enjoyed it!
1 year ago wow! awesome way to close the loop
Hirohito Araki
much like Echiro Oda are both gods of their respective works
Joseph was a great surprise to the ending.
Love this. I am still deciding on how I want to rate this. For me P4 has been my #1 of the whole series, followed by P6. They are all so good though (except maybe P1, P2 lol)
P4>P8=P7>P5>P6>P3>P2>P1

Meu Deus, que Incrível e FELIZ ANO NOVO/HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I agree to disagree
But I respect your opinion
@@johnwise9811 You nailed it!

what a FANTASTIC video bro
I think part 7 was massively overhyped to me so I was disappointed in it. Not that it was bad but I felt it didnt deliver on everything I was expecting from it. Part 4 has been my favourite since I watched the anime and after being disappointed with part 7, I thought part 4 would always be my favourite. But I've never been so captivated reading anything in my life as i was with part 8 and I'd say this is definitely my new favorite part
I remember being a young kid and thinking that every jojo was one character that went through different clothes
Thank you, great video . waiting for JJL2
I do love jojolion a lot but it’s hard for me to look past how messy much of the plotting is. I appreciate the themes but and the general story but I really do think it ended kinda weakly
Mom: what does manga teaches you anyway
Jojolion:…..
both part 1 Dario Brando and WOU in part 8 have a bowler hat.
Coincidence?
this is a hot take but I think that part 7 and 8 plus should be called something different, because they don't continue the story of parts 1-6, they start a new one
I would call it "Jojo's Bizzare Adventure:Restart" and, with part 7 being one and 8 being 2
I got suprise when josuke has 4 balls and 2 stand hahahahaha
Nice video. I hope to see you famous somewhere when Jojolion is animated.
One things for sure is I'll never call the fruit Locacaca just because I think Rokakaka sounds cooler.
Not to mention it sounds more rock themed given what it does.
