I wish Jojolion was more Slice of Life focused. After Vitamin C, we needed a reset. Leave rock human fights to happen only occasionally so they are a bigger blindside attack, just like Vitamin C was. Something like Wonder of U and Tooru works better in that format too. 'Unfornate Events' doesnt need a stand battle really, and yet Araki kinda forced it to be one. Johnnys life falling apart seemingly for no reason was a better execute of Calamity than.... Josuke and company tripping over everything while chasing an old man for 2 years. Cus the entire fight of Wonder of U eats up any chance for Tooru really be any character at all. The most we learn about him is pretty much by the end of the fight.... Which is the opposite of satisfying. Cus we want to know about a villain, rather than just be told '(x) IS BEHIND IT ALL!!'
I think that jojolion failed to stick the landing on the core conceit of the plot - its mystery, but it absolutely nails the theme of familial trauma that it introduces halfway through the part. My only other major issue with the part is that araki genuinely forgot about soft and let's ability to remove aspects of things

reading jojolion monthly as it was coming out was wild, the amount of theorycrafting, fan content, memes, stupid edits, it really was something i looked forwards to every month, even towards the end when the story became a mess it was still super engaging to discuss what even was going on with other fans of the series
I hate that I feel like JoJolands hasn't had nearly the same treatment, but it might be just because we're still early in the part Maybe when the first character dies we might get more interaction

The best way I like to describe Paisley Park: it just doxxes people (I don’t know how spawning ladders work though) I also got 20 more chapters to go before I finish it and so far I actually believe it is on par with SBR and handles mystery better than any previous parts. It’s one of my favorite parts right now

To still enjoy the flaws that you fav a series has. Bleach is my fav animanga after JoJo´s and i know that the ending was unfortunately due to Kubo poor health but i still fw it alot. I think Family was a major theme as well as Identity. I think it does a good job making feel like Dysfunctional family That works together. feel real and not like fake family. I think Joskua finding who is and than becoming the man he needed to be for him self and his new family was good. Jojo is a wild ride everytime.

Amaxing video! Me and my friends have been reading jojolion as it gradually came out over the last 6+ years, so I completely understand the confusion caused by going over all of it in a week. You'll probably change your mind on a few things over time as we all did I'm sure
I feel like Araki knew it would be hard to have a good main villain for this part after the last two, so he made him more of a "force" than an actual character, that being said, Tooru is still the epitome of rock people and he works well for a villain that's a rock human thematically, but he is definitely boring at times. My main issue with Tooru is that he didn't get revealed as a character sooner, it could have been cool if the main cast knew him through Yasuho earlier in the part and it get revealed later that he's a rock human pulling the strings.
I agree, more time with the cast could’ve given his reveal a lot of oomph. The fact that he’s introduced and then revealed 2 chapters later didn’t give much room for mystique
THIS GUY JUST DROPPED THE BEST SUMMARY OF JOJOLION & JOJO IN GENERAL AND WE THOUGHT WOULDN'T NOTICE. IT'S EXTREMELY CRIMINAL FOR THIS VIDEO TO BE UNDERRATED AS HELL. You didn't only summed up its strengths but also gave a sensible criticism to this underappreciated JoJo part. There was absolutely nothing I was against anything appraised or criticised in this love letter of a video to JoJolion. Although it fails to stand on equal grounds with its predecessor SBR, it's still meant to be a JoJo part in its own. JoJolion is my second favorite installment after Stone Ocean and I'm glad I was able to find someone equally respective of it. You gained a new subscriber, buddy!
I fully get what you mean when reading jojolion. I felt the same with the whole part buy still equally enjoyed every moment of this beautiful thought provoking bloated trainwreck. Gave me a better view of the world to power through the worse of it since miracles will eventually follow after the calamity. Peak editing 10/10 keep up the awesome work

The editing is top tier and i really think i should read faster to catch up now that you hyped it, despite the flaws you talked about. I was really excited when on IG I saw that you'd release a video today and it did not miss! Good job dude, I'm really hoping you grow bigger and bigger as a youtuber, you deserve it
The editing in this was fire, and the memes absolutely sent me. Reading Jojolion as it came out must’ve been a wild time, but considering the fallout I’ve heard of from people who read the second half in real-time (concerning matters like the bodybag flash forward, ambiguity over Jobin’s death, and the rock insects) it’s probably a part best enjoyed as a binge-read. And as the 25th reader of Jojolion, I enjoyed it a ton and rank it as my third favorite, citing much of the same positives and negatives (though I’m a bit softer on the second half and I think Jobin served his role about as well as Diego). Can’t describe it as well as you did though, your script was both poetic and hilarious. I really do love how “human” this part feels. Despite some of them having low screentime, the existence of the Higashikatas as a family really gave the conflict of the plot a different feeling and I love how Josuke slowly gains their trust and cooperation (Norisuke especially, best dad went through so much). The ending page with them at the table feels so earned, and Joshu telling Josuke to “just pick one, man” felt like even he had accepted Josuke as a family member, very heartwarming. The thematic writing definitely got a bit too abstract for my understanding towards the end, but one thing I love about the final battle is that Josuke and Yasuho both fight Tooru in different places at the same time. Josuke fighting Tooru’s hold on the future in the form of the head doctor, and Yasuho confronting and overcoming her past by fighting the Tooru she used to know, and entering the flow of calamity with Josuke so they can beat him as one. Very poetic, I think. What you said at the end, to love something “despite” is a wonderful thing. It’s how I feel about the part 6 anime. Yeah the animation was rough at times and there was a lot of CGI and reused music, but if it were really a bad anime then I don’t think part 6 would’ve immediately become my favorite part upon watching it. And I feel blessed to have the opportunity to love the experience of viewing it and knowing it. It offered something special and unique, and the same goes for Jojolion. I can’t wait for what Araki cooks with The Jojolands. The first 10 chapters have already been so exciting.

As someone who is reading manga for the second time these days, and suddenly this video came up while I was browsing TH-cam... I appreciate your effort, as that person said... You know what? No...i don't appreciate it... I love it very much... I love how you analyze the chapters, characters, events, plot...praising and hating them while throwing in some memes here and there with a touch of humor...as for the last part of the video...it was great...and it hit me...in a way...I think it sums up my relationship maybe not just with jojolion... maybe with the entire series... I cannot thank you enough for this video. After finishing the magnum opus that was part 7, I had heard many mixed reviews regarding part 8, which stated that it was dull (??), convoluted (???) and inconsistent (?!) which frankly made me even more intrigued. In retrospect, your analysis pretty much sums what I and the other… 10(ish) people who have read JoJolion feel. I can definitely say that I enjoyed a lot but really wished to have seen more of Tooru. Great video!

THIS WAS SO GOOD T__T Jojolion is one of my fav parts (tho every part of jojo is my fav part) and I agree with so many points in this review.. the highs of jojolion honestly make up for its lows for me and this review makes me feel emotional just thinking about gappy's growth
I just finished Jojolion yesterday and I had so many thoughts about it, but no way to clearly convey what the hell I went through in a similar span of time... I was intrigued, I was fumbled, I was greatfully delighted and amused and I felt like this was perhaps as cohesive as SBR could be if it had so many sideplots. In a way, I was reminded of Vento Aureo: a lot of threats looming all the time, an almost non-stop pace and a crazy convoluted ending due to an antagonist's superabstract ability and a weird flashback at the last moment. It's crazy. Like, that family went through some of the craziest spawn of events with losses and killing attempts and property destruction, but then people are talking about how the family curse was broken? It got me mixed feelings. I was interested in hearing someone talking about the themes tackled on Jojolion and, dawg, you did a crazy compelling video that gave a lot of food for thought! Great editing as well!

I really feel like you misunderstood josuke's character arc, he changes a lot throughout the second half as well. If the first half was about josuke learning who he was, the second half is about him finding out who he is now.

Jojolion was magnificent! It was indeed flawed, but I believe each part is better than the last in it’s own way, and Jojolion’s Cast, Setting, and Vibe had me! The things I hate about it: 1. Spin’s inclusion 2. Kyo/Kei’s Death 3. TOORU(Joke, though I do hate him) Other than that, I think it was grand! Jojolion was perfect in bizarreness! It is precisely what I was looking for in this series! Completely Bizarre! Couldn’t ask for more!
What really surprised me is that jojolion was the first time I felt a Jojo ending was underwhelming. Like there's other parts where parts of the journey were underwhelming but the endings always delivered. And I think that's s very hard thing to pull off in such a long series. And tbh I don't think it was that bad. I just wish toru and wonder of u were introduced earlier

Ill give you my thoughts as the 9th jojolion fan. If only Tooru was introduced earlier, I think I could have put Jojolion as one of my top 3 parts. Ideally after the end of Vitamic C maybe Blue Hawaii. But not in fucking second to last arc. Him and Wonder of U have such a beautiful connection as well. Deep down Tooru yearns for a mother, and Wonder of U (whos based on a song about how much a boy loves his mom) is this omnipotent shield that can protect him from anything.
IMO i pretty much believe that this part aint perfect but it also aint a dumpster fire or a hot mess, something about the amount of stuff has been more prominently unhinged but that's the reason why i like the entire jojo series a whole other than lore reasons, but still not all anime even jojo's isn't perfect and i pretty munched liked this vid

Amaxing video! Me and my friends have been reading jojolion as it gradually came out over the last 6+ years, so I completely understand the confusion caused by going over all of it in a week.

I feel like Araki knew it would be hard to have a good main villain for this part after the last two, so he made him more of a "force" than an actual character, that being said, Tooru is still the epitome of rock people and he works well for a villain that's a rock human thematically, but he is definitely boring at times. My main issue with Tooru is that he didn't get revealed as a character sooner, it could have been cool if the main cast knew him through Yasuho earlier in the part and it get revealed later that he's a rock human pulling the strings.
I agree, more time with the cast could’ve given his reveal a lot of oomph. The fact that he’s introduced and then revealed 2 chapters later didn’t give much room for mystique

There was absolutely nothing I was against anything appraised or criticised in this love letter of a video to JoJolion. Although it fails to stand on equal grounds with its predecessor SBR, it's still meant to be a JoJo part in its own. JoJolion is my second favorite installment after Stone Ocean and I'm glad I was able to find someone equally respective of it. You gained a new subscriber, buddy!

The editing in this was fire, and the memes absolutely sent me. Reading Jojolion as it came out must’ve been a wild time, but considering the fallout I’ve heard of from people who read the second half in real-time (concerning matters like the bodybag flash forward, ambiguity over Jobin’s death, and the rock insects) it’s probably a part best enjoyed as a binge-read. And as the 25th reader of Jojolion, I enjoyed it a ton and rank it as my third favorite, citing much of the same positives and negatives (though I’m a bit softer on the second half and I think Jobin served his role about as well as Diego). Can’t describe it as well as you did though, your script was both poetic and hilarious.
I really do love how “human” this part feels. Despite some of them having low screentime, the existence of the Higashikatas as a family really gave the conflict of the plot a different feeling and I love how Josuke slowly gains their trust and cooperation (Norisuke especially, best dad went through so much). The ending page with them at the table feels so earned, and Joshu telling Josuke to “just pick one, man” felt like even he had accepted Josuke as a family member, very heartwarming.
The thematic writing definitely got a bit too abstract for my understanding towards the end, but one thing I love about the final battle is that Josuke and Yasuho both fight Tooru in different places at the same time. Josuke fighting Tooru’s hold on the future in the form of the head doctor, and Yasuho confronting and overcoming her past by fighting the Tooru she used to know, and entering the flow of calamity with Josuke so they can beat him as one. Very poetic, I think.
What you said at the end, to love something “despite” is a wonderful thing. It’s how I feel about the part 6 anime. Yeah the animation was rough at times and there was a lot of CGI and reused music, but if it were really a bad anime then I don’t think part 6 would’ve immediately become my favorite part upon watching it. And I feel blessed to have the opportunity to love the experience of viewing it and knowing it. It offered something special and unique, and the same goes for Jojolion. I can’t wait for what Araki cooks with The Jojolands. The first 10 chapters have already been so exciting.

I cannot thank you enough for this video. After finishing the magnum opus that was part 7, I had heard many mixed reviews regarding part 8, which stated that it was dull (??), convoluted (???) and inconsistent (?!) which frankly made me even more intrigued. In retrospect, your analysis pretty much sums what I and the other… 10(ish) people who have read JoJolion feel. I can definitely say that I enjoyed a lot but really wished to have seen more of Tooru. Great video!

I just finished Jojolion yesterday and I had so many thoughts about it, but no way to clearly convey what the hell I went through in a similar span of time... I was intrigued, I was fumbled, I was greatfully delighted and amused and I felt like this was perhaps as cohesive as SBR could be if it had so many sideplots. In a way, I was reminded of Vento Aureo: a lot of threats looming all the time, an almost non-stop pace and a crazy convoluted ending due to an antagonist's superabstract ability and a weird flashback at the last moment. It's crazy. Like, that family went through some of the craziest spawn of events with losses and killing attempts and property destruction, but then people are talking about how the family curse was broken? It got me mixed feelings. I was interested in hearing someone talking about the themes tackled on Jojolion and, dawg, you did a crazy compelling video that gave a lot of food for thought! Great editing as well!
I've not read JJL yet, but this video is hella underrated for the effort you've put in with the scripting and the editing. Hope you get the recognition you deserve!

Maybe you know this by now but in case someone didn't say already, Rai (probably) knows about spin because he's a plant appraiser who's likely familiar with spin because spin comes from the golden ratio, which naturally appears in things like plants and leaves.

Jojolion was magnificent! It was indeed flawed, but I believe each part is better than the last in it’s own way, and Jojolion’s Cast, Setting, and Vibe had me!
The things I hate about it:
1. Spin’s inclusion
2. Kyo/Kei’s Death
3. TOORU(Joke, though I do hate him)
Other than that, I think it was grand! Jojolion was perfect in bizarreness! It is precisely what I was looking for in this series! Completely Bizarre! Couldn’t ask for more!

What really surprised me is that jojolion was the first time I felt a Jojo ending was underwhelming. Like there's other parts where parts of the journey were underwhelming but the endings always delivered. And I think that's s very hard thing to pull off in such a long series.

If only Tooru was introduced earlier, I think I could have put Jojolion as one of my top 3 parts. Ideally after the end of Vitamic C maybe Blue Hawaii. But not in fucking second to last arc.
Him and Wonder of U have such a beautiful connection as well. Deep down Tooru yearns for a mother, and Wonder of U (whos based on a song about how much a boy loves his mom) is this omnipotent shield that can protect him from anything.
