The new Jousuke is such a good protagonist i love how he has to learn and develop his own character and personality out of the pieces of the new Yoshikage kira and the other guy
Yeah his journey is one of self discovery and he finds things about himself through things he does. When he finds out about his origin he's too focused on who he once was instead of who he currently is. In chapter 92, Josuke finally comes to terms with his new identity and realizes that Kira and Josefumi are long dead and that they're memories are long gone and they will never come back. That moment really hit home for me and it one of my favorite moments not just in part 8, but in all of JoJo.
araki forgot is really questionnable since most of the "forgotten things" come from people who don't pay attention to all the details, hamon beat did a great job debunking most of the araki forgot
The araki forgot moments in this part is especially frustrating. For example the wall eyes. People say the wall eyes have been forgotten when in reality it hasn't been mentioned in a while. I think most of these people forgot that Jojolion is an ongoing story. Just because something isn't mentioned in a while, doesn't mean that it is forgotten. Especially if it is one of the main plotlines.

god i love this part so much, i think it has more subtext and deep explorations of its respective themes than any other part. when people say it is directionless it confuses me because laying out clearly from the start where the story is going g=completely goes against the entire point of a mystery, the act of reading each month and going deeper into the rabbit hole and uncovering more and more of the secrets that Morioh holds is what makes the story work best. it truly is a wonder... of you
I'm SO glad I'm reading this part monthly. I feel like more than any other part Araki has been twisting the story with every chapter. Truly a masterclass in storytelling. And yes.... A wonder of you
That was an awesome video dude. I've loved Jojolion from the first moment I started reading and I'm glad to see that more people are appreciating it as well
Bro, thanks for this video! Jojolion is not only my favorite part, but also my favorite story. Almost entirely for the reason that it's about finding yourself and having no idea what direction your life is headed, but moving forward regardless. It also helps that it's a JoJo part and that Josuke wears a sailor outfit, Morioh is more fleshed out than it's ever been, my second favorite stand, Killer Queen, makes a comeback, my first favorite is Soft and Wet, and it's just absolutely bonkers. Nothing pleases me more than when a writer lets loose and not only puts their imagination to paper, but also lets the reader see a little bit inside their brain. It's pretty hard to pick a favorite when they're all so amazing and you appreciate them all a little more on a second viewing, but JoJolion blows them all out of the water for me. God, I really want to make a video or something about it, but I'm waiting for it to be over so I can just go all out with my praise for it
StudioAlex: Paper Moon King has the ability to make anyone lose the ability to tell people apart and I don't think I've ever been so terrified. Me, born with prosopagnosia: First time?
Wow. I never noticed this awesomeness tbh. I though it was a directionless, complicated mess because i had a hard time seeing the whole. Because i didn’t understand its direction, journey or goal completly. But now i see that is because the series is being taken into an entierly new direction. And i first though it was a bad one but no. Its on the same level of awesomeness of oarts that came before it, but on part of the genre spectrum. JoJo is always epic no matter the part. Each part has its fare share of shortcomings, bad areas and so on. But in the greater picture. Jojo is one of the best manga series to exist (and probably to exist in the future as well if Araki foes part 9, but im getting WAAAY ahead of myself). It has such a braud bunch of genres with many interesting and enjoyable thematic experiences because of each parts separate stories and characters. It reached a wide audience where everyone has their favorite part, character or stand. JoJo is the shit, and i really, really like JoJo.
Of course, every part has its issues, but Araki is a master at learning from and changing his past mistakes. Jojolion is a MUCH more complicated story than other parts, and it's when you look at the part as a whole that it becomes awesome. Can't wait to see how Araki finishes it up
StudioAlex I totalt agree. I have seen a lot of theories. There are so many possible connections Araki probably have Done and it literally gave me a headache trying to uncover and understand all those connections. Meanings between everything. Nothing in Jojolion seems to at surfice level at all. It is incredible how complex and difficult this part is to completly understand due to all these different connections and meanings that i Never even through of. Araki is definentally one of the most impressive and amazing people i have heard, like holy crap- i mean corpse... holy corpse, its impressive
Thank you for not spoiling anything! It’s so hard to find Jojo content that doesn’t spoil shit. I was watching with my finger above the pause button until you said you wouldn’t spoil josukes identity. You earned my sub
Yeah. Honestly, the only issue with SBR Imo is Funny Valentine. Don’t get me wrong, I love his character, but I’ll be damned if Diego isn’t better. Yeah, Diego isn’t really a villain, but that’s why I love him so much. While Funny Valentine seemed a little bit stereotypical, Diego kept me engaged through the entirety of his scenes.
Great job explaining part 8 my friend. Can we just appreciate the creator's creativity and artworks? Personally i have never seen an anime with such unique characters, storylines and the bravery to trying new directions while able to keep True fans engage. Such a refreshing series
i think a lot of people were waiting for it to be over before reading it in one sitting, figuring it'd be 90-something chapters like SBR. I've seen a lot more engagement and discussion these last few months because a lot of these folk are starting to realize we still have a good chunk to go and we most likely will hit the 10 year mark with the part still going. that said i find a lot of people just don't have the patience nor a good long term memory to keep up with a monthly publication, hence why so many of the "araki forgot" crew.
People sleeping on Joshu because they thought he's unbearable (and his atrocious hair cut, this I agree lol), but Joshu is just a naive guy who love Yasuho too much and naturally felt threatened by Josuke.
@@thejamesonthestreet yeah, everyone is just saying "i hate joshu since he hates josuk8 for no reason" like bitch what would you do if you fond your girlfriend talking to a naked man and bring him to your home like he's her boyfriend?
I started reading Jojolion a week ago and it really sucked me in. I’ve only read through the first two stand battles, but the tension in those battles was mind-blowing.
Ngl bois the first things that hooked me to part 8 were Araki's progression with his art style, that town map has a soft spot for me with visualizing the story in the beginning lmao. Mr. Fourballs and the interactions are amazing for me as well and with how some things tie into part 7 even if not so substantial from where I stopped reading. These are just some of the things that make me more engrained reading and keep finding out along with Josuk8. *Gotta find out where I stopped and start reading again!
Amazing video! I only caught up to Jojolion in December of last year but I'm pretty sure it's my favorite part of jojo. Gappy is by far the most fleshed out jojo with imo the best setup as well. It's so thematically rich
The reason why so many are turned off of Jojolion, its supposed "directionless", is precisely why I love this Part. My curiosity when starting JJBA got the better of me, and every Part was spoiled for me. I didn't care, I was along for the ride and I was sold, completing the anime last summer and reading the manga because I needed more. Jojolion is the first time I do not know what is going to happen next. Every new chapter has me pouring over each page, looking for clues that will unravel the mystery. Chapters 99 and 100 had me running around my workplace (more like speed walking) trying to find someone I could talk to about the new revelations and where I think the story might go next. I bounce in anticipation in the week before a new chapter is released, excited to see what's going to happen and how Josuke is going to succeed. Yasuho has been dying in the driveway for over a year now, how is she going to be rescued? Given how Tusk evolved with Johnny in SBR, I wonder if Soft & Wet will also evolve as well? I have zero knowledge of what comes next, no idea what new information Araki will give us, and that excites me. I may have a couple theories in the works, but I don't mind when they get blown out the water each chapter.
I think Soft and Wet HAS to evolve and change, since he's the only Higashikaata family member (that we know of, Kaato's stand is still unnamed) that doesnt fit the stand naming scheme; having KING somewhere in the name. Even Mitsuba, who isn't a Higashikaata by blood has her stand fit into the naming scheme. King Creole and King Crimson are the most popular theories rn
I love how videos like this are set up. First the all around surface level explanation of aspects the series does good, and then delving deeper into the real substance of it all, its themes and meanings. All while accompanied by fitting music in the back to set the tone. It kinda reminds me of how Super eye patch wolf does his "Why you should watch" videos and I love it! oh, and... uh... new sub!
"Nobody ever talks about jojolion" The 2013 edition of Kono Manga ga Sugoi!, which surveys people in the manga and publishing industry, named JoJolion the 12th best manga series for male readers. It won the Grand Prize for manga at the 2013 Japan Media Arts Festival.
Same here! Part 5 gave me one of the most saddest deaths I've ever read, I still cry for Narancia tbh, and then I read SBR and felt in love with the advance of the series so far. Now I can stop thinking about Jojolion, all the characters and the stands are amazing.
@@StudioAlexOfficial I have been taking my time with part 6 thus so far and I will as well with part 7, cause speed reading a part would feel like I skipped it..
dude...this video really resonated with me. ive had an idea of the themes of this part for awhile now, but this vid just tied em all together. as soon as you mentioned "pursuit" at the end, it all clicked. nearly every stand user this part has a theme of "pursuit"!
I like how each jojo part is a brand new adventure with their own self contained arcs. most animes have one big long adventure that can sometimes feel overdrawn at some points, or just end up getting stale at some point. One piece is a great example of a long drawn out story, while which I do love one piece, it can be a nightmare to watch through everything due to how long everything is.
Awesome video with incredible attention to detail and production value. I’m shocked this channel doesn’t have half a million subs yet. If he continues to put out this caliber of content and makes the output more frequent he’s well on his way
JoJolion to me, someone who's never read anything of it, seems like the most thought out story from Araki. He just found himself and how he wants to do things, it seems, and it's working just right. The story is mature without straying from what made JoJo fun, which is the bizarre and funny sizes of the storyline.
My only complain about Jojo is that every stand user now has such a weirdly araki design that for the reader there is no mystery finding out if the person is a stand user or not
Thank you for this video. Not gonna lie, this made me cry. Jojo is so special to me; this breakdown of my favorite part was incredible. (I'm torn between the same three as you.)
I mean to be fair other parts don't have that much romance outside Part 1, and even then Part 1 "romance" is very basic Yasuho and Gappy are the cutest thing and their development is one of the big things from JoJolion
@@Mattew9001 I totally agree with the second part of your message; Jojolion explores greatly concepts of love, relationship and family. We can see that with every main character in a multitude of ways. It is mainly because of those connections (relatable) between characters that the cast of Jojolion is so enjoyable. but there are elements of "romance"/love in every part (some part has really impactful romance) but they are light or not greatly developed in the story (let give 1 example for each part if I remember well) : Part 1: Jonathan and Erina (I think the most known and the most important) Part 2: Joseph and suzi Q Part 3: Polnareff and the woman he met while being transform as a child (the part didn't really explore the concept of love but there are several moments of seduction and Dio "use" a lot of people (mainly woman) thanks to being fabulous) Part 4: Kochi and Yukako (kira and his "wife" are very interesting too because he's not sure about his feeling of love) Part 5: "gay" couples in Passione (it"s the first thing that came in my mind but it's unclear) Part 6: (Great one) Jolyne and Anasui (I would love more details about Jotaro and his (ex-!?)wife and for the joke: DIO x Pucci) Part 7: Funny Valentine and Scarlet Valentine (-> Lucy Steel) Part 8: A lot! but the best is Josuke x Yasuho (Yasuho is a popular girl)
Achalacha Yeah now that you mention it I had forgotten several aspects of love throughout all parts though like you mentioned they weren’t explored to a great extent, Part 1 had the most of it while most others were gags or resolutions, Idk if you can count part 7 there lol but I guess it can be called an aspect of love. I agree love between a family and relationships with their peers are prominent in JoJo but only Part 8 it feels like it’s something essential in the plot, the romance between Gappy and Yasuho feel like have an impact in the overall story
Congrats on the video dude. Absolutely loved it. I was on the edge bout part 8 from the get go but now I can’t wait to delve deeper into its insanity. 😁
Araki takes his times with Jojolion to offer high-quality manga (check chapter 98, the 5 first page are stylish walk), some people can be angry and criticized the part but those people are so impatient and don't want to enjoy Jojolion. Man, Jojo series has 33 years, so relax and enjoy the last part, aka Jojolion, who is the result of 33 years of work (fails and success forged the future) The "Araki forgot" is very sad and pathetic in general because if you think about it and/or re-read the finished part associated, you will understand that Araki is very thoughtful about his work. It's often a misunderstanding or bad faith.
Because they speedread 30 years worth of manga then they get to the slow burn of the ongoing monthly chapters and then say it's directionless and has a lot of plotholes don't try to take in what they read or that this is the first ongoing monthly manga that they've read.
@Requiem Eye yeah it's quite sad but we are lucky to have great fans, like channel "Hamon Beat", to correct those fake accusations. Fake Araki forgots': 'Araki forgot this HUGE plot point!' Real Araki forgots': 'Araki forgot that this guy wore this style of shoes..'
I haven't read this part yet, so I have a question, am I gonna be able to re experience part 4, or is it completely different? I want to know what im getting into with NO SPOILERS.
PLEASE read parts 1-7 BEFORE experiencing JoJolion. You need those parts for the full context. That being said, without getting into spoilers. JoJolion is different than part 4, but it's heavily tied to it. It's not a straight-up remake, but there are many elements from part 4 that have been reimagined (and many times improved upon) from the part. For instance, both the main characters are named Josuke, but they are SUPER different. Once you read Steel Ball Run it'll make way more sense!! I hope you enjoy it!

'Araki forgot' is a meme. Memes aren't always 100% accurate

god i love this part so much, i think it has more subtext and deep explorations of its respective themes than any other part. when people say it is directionless it confuses me because laying out clearly from the start where the story is going g=completely goes against the entire point of a mystery, the act of reading each month and going deeper into the rabbit hole and uncovering more and more of the secrets that Morioh holds is what makes the story work best. it truly is a wonder...

Imo even before chapter 99, quality-wise jojolion was toe to toe with steel ball run, but now it surpassed SBR.
SBR is still awesome tho

It kinda sucks every is downplaying this part, it’s been my favorite part since chapter 28, honestly fuckin great man
The reason why so many are turned off of Jojolion, its supposed "directionless", is precisely why I love this Part.
It kinda reminds me of how Super eye patch wolf does his "Why you should watch" videos and I love it!
oh, and... uh... new sub!
Supereyepatchwolf may or may not be my fav TH-camr ever so that's a big compliment lololol

I like how each jojo part is a brand new adventure with their own self contained arcs. most animes have one big long adventure that can sometimes feel overdrawn at some points, or just end up getting stale at some point. This is an incredibly insightful thesis you have here, Alex!
Jojolion has the best romance! Josuke x Yasuho forever
Yasuho = Best girl
I mean to be fair other parts don't have that much romance outside Part 1, and even then Part 1 "romance" is very basic
Yasuho and Gappy are the cutest thing and their development is one of the big things from JoJolion
@@Mattew9001 I totally agree with the second part of your message; Jojolion explores greatly concepts of love, relationship and family. We can see that with every main character in a multitude of ways. It is mainly because of those connections (relatable) between characters that the cast of Jojolion is so enjoyable.
but there are elements of "romance"/love in every part (some part has really impactful romance) but they are light or not greatly developed in the story (let give 1 example for each part if I remember well) :
Part 1: Jonathan and Erina (I think the most known and the most important)
Part 2: Joseph and suzi Q
Part 3: Polnareff and the woman he met while being transform as a child (the part didn't really explore the concept of love but there are several moments of seduction and Dio "use" a lot of people (mainly woman) thanks to being fabulous)
Part 4: Kochi and Yukako (kira and his "wife" are very interesting too because he's not sure about his feeling of love)
Part 5: "gay" couples in Passione (it"s the first thing that came in my mind but it's unclear)
Part 6: (Great one) Jolyne and Anasui (I would love more details about Jotaro and his (ex-!?)wife and for the joke: DIO x Pucci)
Part 7: Funny Valentine and Scarlet Valentine (-> Lucy Steel)
Part 8: A lot! but the best is Josuke x Yasuho (Yasuho is a popular girl)

Araki takes his times with Jojolion to offer high-quality manga (check chapter 98, the 5 first page are stylish walk), some people can be angry and criticized the part but those people are so impatient and don't want to enjoy Jojolion. Man, Jojo series has 33 years, so relax and enjoy the last part, aka Jojolion, who is the result of 33 years of work (fails and success forged the future)
The "Araki forgot" is very sad and pathetic in general because if you think about it and/or re-read the finished part associated, you will understand that Araki is very thoughtful about his work.
