  • Downing Street said the UNSC resolution sent a clear message that the hostages held by Hamas should be released and aid should allowed in to Gaza.
The Prime Minister's official spokesman said Israel had a right to defend itself but too many Palestinian lives were being lost, with a "clear and present risk" of a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
James O'Brien reflects on the UN Security Council vote results and what that means for 'lonely' Israel.

Netanyahu is an elected leader, James, he is propped up by a number of parties and citizens who share his views. The portrayal of him as “one bad egg “ fails to address the fact that this “war” is symptomatic of the view held by a majority in Israel that Palestine and its people should no longer exist. Trivialising this with the bad man take oversimplifies it, the only solution is to make reparations to the Palestinians and attempt to create one nation where folks can habitat together without the boot of one side on their necks.

We under 50 have been seeing past the Hasbara for 20 years now. When these 80 year olds finally release power or die out and we take over Israel will be held accountable for their actions over the past 80 years

Netanyahu is the longest standing PM in Israel’s history. What does that tell you about the society they have “built” in the last 100 years? The society is a hyper militarized crime against humanity. You asked how did we end up here? How will it end? Look back into how this “state that has a right to exist” was created and supported by the UK and US. Over 300 billion in aid since 48’. That’s how.
