    I just learned that a girl that survived the bombings of northern gaza was murdered in the bombing of Al Nasser hospital recently... She died twice, the first time when her family members died in the north and now when she herself died.. in a hospital bombing, being treated from the previous bombing that took her family away... If you still support this, there's no saving you.. or humanity for that matter.

      I agree. And would add It cannot be self defence against an occupied territory, just as it is not 'terrorism' to strike back in whatever way against the oppressors.This is argued by both Israels ( miko Peled - The Generals son,) and Palestinian historian ( llan Pappe) 100 years war on Palestine. Both argue that Israel is a Terror State. So if James OBrien wants to educate himself i suggest he starts with these.

      We need to mention that these settlements are literally unprofitable and that 60% of the 700,000 west bank Jewish settlers work in ISRAEL. Israel props them up, and has done for 50 years.
      "Settlement has an economic dimension, much of it driven by the significantly lower costs of housing for Israeli citizens living in Israeli settlements compared to the cost of housing and living in Israel proper.[54] Government spending per citizen in the settlements is double that spent per Israeli citizen in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, while government spending for settlers in isolated Israeli settlements is three times the Israeli national average. Most of the spending goes to the security of the Israeli citizens living there.[55]"

    It is a pity that it has taken this long for people's eyes to be opened to what Israel has been doing, but this did not start on October 8th, this has been going on for more than 70 years and we have not just ignored it but actively supported it. For a people who have endured hardships for 1000's of years under the hands of Europeans to now inflicting those same hardships on a people whose only crime was to be living in the place they wanted to settle is a shame. This is not a Jewish problem but a Zionist nationalism problem and as stated before has been going on for more than 70 years. It is about time we starting acting throughout the world with an even hand based on the rules of law as laid out by honest people from within the United Nations.

      Zionist Nationalism invades our own politics to an astonishing extent. They saw off Corbyn by smearing him as an anti-Semite because he was pro-Palestine and now we have all seen how this works on a global level. Starmer's leadership campaign was funded by the Israel lobby so that explains why he was happy to see the children of Gaza be murdered. And I also wonder what they promised Z list celebrities like Rachel Riley and that Oberman woman to jump on the bandwagon.

    Israel’s greatest act of racism is the Nakba: the 1948 expulsion of roughly 750,000 Palestinians from their homes simply because they were not Jews. Even Palestinian villagers that offered to surrender to Zionist militias were expelled. Israel’s problem, then and now, with Palestinians is that they dare to exist on their land. Israel defines itself in exclusivist terms and those outside of the tribe are forever unwelcome. No matter how docile Palestinians may be, they remain a problem for Israel, to be displaced or subjugated.

    Why do so many journalists feel the need to prequalify any criticism of Israel by bringing up the holocaust?
    We all know the horrors of WW2, over 50 million people lost their lives as a result of Hitler’s insanity, it wasn’t just the Jewish community that suffered.

A government rushing into an ill considered war in part to hide its own shame in failing to prevent the attack and its historical complicity in building up the terrorist group responsible.
    And what did America's war of revenge in Afghanistan achieve? Thousands of American soldiers dead. Hundreds of Thousands of innocent Afghan civilians dead. Children cut down by American bullets, entire families destroyed by American bombs.
    An ocean of blood, on our hands, and for what? Afghanistan is as firmly in Taliban control as it ever was. America's international reputation is in ruins. For every actual enemy combatant slain a dozen more were radicalized by the pointless deaths of their friends and families. Such are the wages of revenge.
    If the United States were actually friends of Israel we would not be supporting a war that can no more eliminate Hamas than our war could the Taliban, a war that has already cost an order of magnitude more innocent lives than the terroeist attack that instigated it, a war that can only and has only enflamed the hearts of Israel's enemies. A true friend would not be encouraging Israel down this path while knowing from experience that it leads only to suffering and shame.

    Well said, as always, and very correct. Only one thing though - the perspective of Palestinians about Hamas is totally missing in your talks. Why is that? Is it because the Sunak government has banned Hamas? As a brilliant independent broadcaster, you should present that viewpoint too, at least sometimes. Because inspite of all the killings, the support for Hamas has now skyrocketed all over the world, especially among Palestinians

    • @MrBrock314
      @MrBrock314 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This has been covered to some extent when talking about the Palestinian desire to be free. Their support of Hamas is tied to their desire to be free. Hamas is just one potential avenue for it. It's also related to internal politics relating to Fatah and the Palestinian authority. For example, many Palestinians support Hamas over Fatah due to the latter's corruption, not due to Hamas' methods nor do they trust Hamas. Keep in mind, despite how often people mention that Palestinians voted for Hamas, that Hamas didn't run on a platform of Oct 7th. It ran on an anti-corruption platform and actually suggested it was ok with the 1967 borders. That's what actually happened. So, while there is widespread polling support for Hamas, that does NOT necessarily reflect Palestinian desire for more Oct 7th, just freedom.

It took days and weeks of planning and thousands of different individuals taking different decisions that would explicitly lead to the killing of more innocent Palestinians.
