    Marauder II is not called the "eye eye," it is called the Marauder two (using Roman numerals to denote a different variant/model from the original Marauder . . .

    Thanks for the short and informative video. Many others are long, heavy on game play and just regurgitate info I can already get in the game. One example of why I like yours is the explanation of what an engine heatsink is. There's no explanation in game and I have never seen anyone else explain it. You got a subscription.

    Champion 1N is the low tech variant. Champion 2N is the SLDF variant with Ferro Armor and SLDF weaponry when you find it. The 2N is the superior model of the two due to having superior armor compared to the 1N but that's about it. Some mechs that you find may have similar hardpoints but have very different internals like the Marauder 2R is the 3R but with Double Heat Sinks in the engine.

      @@KnightKnowledge I could have mixed the two up. The low tech variant may be the 1N. Either way, I sorta love my Champion in game as it's a fast heavy with good weapons and okay armor. The game does reflect the ferro armor as the more advanced Champion does have more armor .

    @serp3n1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +20

    The mechs that look almost exactly the same, like the champion, is usually because in Canon they begin using endo steel, different engines, ect.
    I'm pretty sure you can fit more points of armor on the LB 10 champion due to the endo upgrade, for example, but they really should let you know this in game.

      Yeah. Love the Marauder II when I got one, but the limited mech-lab felt like there was a lot of potential left on the table. After having played the EGS version with mods, I just can't wait to eventually slap Endo Steel/Hardened Armor, double heatsinks, and an XL engine swap into mine.

    loving the -sb lasers in the DLC , took me a little time to warm up to them (haha pun not intended) but they're really nice once you find their niche
    dervish stock setup might not be optimal but its hella fun
    early game I really liked the vulcan for my lancemates, ac/2 and a bunch of small lasers... having one on the team is OK, but stacking the team with them and using a heavier mech with free tonnage yourself, was really nice
    one AC/2 doesn't do much, but 2-3 of them supplimenting your long range damage in the early game was nice, and they can all fight quite well up close if you stack small lasers in them

  • @taurianurbie453
    @taurianurbie453 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    You keep talking about putting ammo in legs, you should put heatsinks in legs, not ammo. An ammo explosion could easily blow your legs clean off, where as heatsinks work better in the legs when standing in water to cool off.

    • @KnightKnowledge
      @KnightKnowledge  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You might be right if we were talking about tabletop, but the computer doesn't aim to leg you, so it's a much better location than anywhere else. There are also very few maps where you can utilize water cooling as well.

    several of the new mech variants not covered but this was a good high level overview for the new chassis. Also although the builds seem the same for some variants there are differences however this is really the game not giving good feedback on those elements. Those could be ferro/endo/dhs or other specials, etc. sadly to figure it out in some instances you can check external sources on which variants have what stock like sarna or MWO.

      I managed to get a Marauder II recently, and I actually like using the thing. Stick 3 ER L Lasers on it each as their own separate weapon group, and then 2 MP Lasers for anything that manages to get in close, and put an AI pilot into it and it will pick off VTOLs, turrets, and tanks long before they can even get into range, and likewise they can soften up incoming 'Mechs from well out of range as well. The thing works quite well in the Lance I put it in (2 King Crabs, 1 Marauder II, & 1 Stalker....the King Crabs tear up anything that gets into mid-close range while also tanking hit after hit with little difficulty, while the Marauder II & Stalker provide long-range support and deal with anything the King Crabs would have a hard time firing at).

    • @Evolution_Kills
      @Evolution_Kills 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ParadigmAC Yep, that's how I finally got mine.
      To be more specific, the DLC will introduce a few missions that end with the acquisition of a unique Hero mech. You'll find these missions in the Transmissions tab. The one for House Davion, where you save a noble and rescue his daughter, is the quest line you want. It culminates in a final mission with a 400 tonnage drop limit, and one of the objectives is to kill an enemy lance, and one of those op-for lance members pilots a MAD-A4. Completion of the mission nets you the new heroic Victor.
      However it took me a few tries, cause salvage for that mission maxes out at 39 (heroic rep with Davion required), but the first few times the MAD-A4 did actually show up as salvage (which it didn't every time), it cost 48 and 41. Took six tries before it appeared and was damaged enough to fall under the salvage budget.
