I had been on Metformin for years, but it seemed to stop being effective and my glucose levels rose. Since doctors don’t know much about these things, I had to acquire knowledge on my own. My liver was aching, my phrenic nerve was reacting painfully, spider veins appeared, my nerves were sore… I had the whole spectrum of symptoms. Started Berberine 3 days ago as a replacement of Metformin and my liver stopped aching almost immediately and the constipation of late is going away. Now I’m hoping for blood glucose levels to come down. After months of suffering, there is a glimmer of hope. Wish me luck!

My husband was purchasing bulk Berberine to fill his own capsules & was controlling his blood sugar after being on ugly metformin & all it's side effects.. Then the bulk company couldn't get berberine So, my husband tried prefilled capsules from another company which was costly, & instead of being borderline he was now diabetic with high sodium in his blood. He also had been on a hypertension drug for years. 2 years ago he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and died from it in Dec 2021. The medical professionals decided it would be best to have a food tube because he was unable to eat or drink. But they fed him sugary junk thru the tube all week in the hospital and then would give him a shot of insulin after every tube fed meal!
The social workers said that medicare would not pay for the liquid food so that was a fight until the surgeon ordered them to put in for it, because my husband just had the surgery and needed the liquid food. Unreal! But then medicare would only pay for the sugared liquid. The dietician told us that the company didn't make a sugarfree liquid food which was incorrect. They didn't give him insulin for at home either. My kids and I suffered such great loss losing my husband and their Dad. I can't help but think that the"shortage" of Berberine then was caused by the big drug companies. Metformin never worked. The bulk berberine worked. And it was affordable. I think my husband might still be alive if there hadn't been a problem w/supply.

I started taking berberine a few weeks back and I'm having great results. My RA flare, the reason for experimenting with it in the first place, is backing off without needing steroids or a ton of NSAs and I'm starting to feel much better. Most surprising to me, it's also had an interesting effect on my appetite. I'm less hungry and my "full" switch is working for the very FIRST time in my entire life. Seriously, I've never felt full before. I just never got the signal, and could and did regularly overeat to later misery if I wasn't careful. Now, I'm getting the distinct sensation of 'That's it, you're full. Stop now.' I've dropped a few pounds and my blood sugars are really steady. I'm also feeling far less sluggish after eating, and more energy during my workouts. I still have ways to go, but I know for sure berberine is helping with the inflammation and not carrying around those extra pounds is always kinder on my joints.

The Barberry bush is commonly sold in the US nurseries as an ornamental becoming fairly large (2-3m across) when mature. Easy to identify from the round red leaves and numerous thorns. Each bush can yield about 1-2 pounds and the taste of the tiny fruit shown in this video is reminiscent of apple and cranberry. I enjoy these in the 90 second chia muffins with sprouted pumpkin seeds. Expect a measured drop 20mg/dL in glucose levels after ingesting (around a tablespoon)

Thanks! I just watched this and was wondering if Barberry was a good source of Berberine it sounds like it would be just from the name. I have read that some Native American tribes considered it a sacred herb and used it as medicine.

Another note about Berberine; it's great with Candida and fungal infections too. The only thing not mentioned here about Berberine is that it affects the sex hormones estrogen and testosterone in a way that women nearing pre-menopause and menopause might need to be careful with if they want to take Berberine long-term. It's great with PCOS too because of the insulin resistance and sex hormone factor combined. Great video.

I'm curious if you would take a deep dive into the nutritional value of french creamy cheeses like camembert, maroilles, livarot, etc. They're not even legal to export in the USA, and from what I heard, even if the US produces great local cheeses, they're nothing like EU methods because of FDA regulations. Similar to how Whiskey made in the USA is allowed to be flavored in stainless steel tanks with european oak wood chips whereas here in France its production its legally bound to having to be aged in actual wooden barrels not soaking wood chips in metal tanks. FDA changes a lot of stuff, and compared to EU norms, it still feels like the wild west for you guys. I don't think I met more than 2, maybe 3 people who had a peanut allergy over here for instance in my 30 years of existence.

At first glance, there's a huge difference between Raw Milk vs Pasteurized Milk. The Pasteurization process kills the living microorganisms and destroys nutrients. People who have issues with Milk, usually don't with Raw Milk, and you can taste the difference. Hard to find though.

    • @metasamsara
      @metasamsara ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@GudLawdHammercy Yeah we have some raw milk here too but mostly it's sterilized @ UHT milk unless you buy farmer stuff in the organic fridge section or directly from a farmer. IDK though I quite like milk haha and always drank UHT half-fat w/o issues.
The FDA just has low standards and their regulation process is a front for making bank and fining companies. Very little actual testing goes behind it. At least the food quality is somewhat better here but when you can't afford to feed yourself fully, a cancer in 20-40 years doesnt seem so bad does it? The problem with FDA is the same with all federals, they have vested interests, and control over power, justice AND economy all in one. The separation of power isn't a tradition it is a necessity to keep them in check but money has loooong corrupted the system. Happens here too, we just have stricter rules on food production and more ancient methods we refined over the centuries of natural selection.

EU food regulation is so much ahead of time, specifically in France and Norway. And you know what? The food tastes great there even without MSG and coloring additions. I am able to compare that because I was living in different parts of the world. Unfortunately, some countries allow too much synthetic chemistry in their food industries. MSG is a screaming example of an overused substance which can cause serious health consequences, especially for elder people.

I just got this supplement from my integrative doctor. It was specifically formulated for his office “Delaware Integrative Medicine” in Georgetown, DE. (Dr Childers)
I haven’t tried it yet but will start tomorrow along with a couple other supplements that he gave me.
I’m not obese, but I’m probably about 25 pounds overweight. I stand about 5 foot one so that’s I guess significant enough as a ratio. I recently got blood tests back and my glucose is quite high. My LDL is very high. My HDL is slightly higher than the norm, and my total cholesterol is quite high as well at about 166. Though I eat homemade food… I pretty much eat whatever I want including breads, desserts, some pasta, basically the same as most people on the standard American diet. The only difference is I eat all organic when I’m at home but I do go out to eat once or twice a week.
Because my blood glucose is so high along with the other cholesterol numbers, my doctor said that I am pre-diabetic. He has put me on the berberine, which is a proprietary formulated supplement, which has a few other things in it. But it’s mostly berberine. I’m to take three capsules a day with food. The three capsules equals 1g total of berberine. They also include 10mg of vitamin C, and 200 mg of alpha lipoic acid.
As a sidenote… I also have high levels of inflammation, showing up on the blood tests in my arteries. That reading came from a test called MPO. So for that I was given another supplement called cardio care from the same doctor. That is to take two capsules daily with food. It is bergamot orange extract. And the dosage equals 1 g total per day. Bergamont is a natural alternative to statins. I won’t take a statin because of the side effects.
I also was given some other supplements (2), which contain a blend of vitamins, botanicals, minerals, prebiotics, digestive enzymes and so forth. That is called IntraMax 2.0 by Drucker labs. It is a liquid.
The other one is called Nuchido Time and is in tablet form.
I was also given nitric oxide support. And that is capsules by Berkeley life, professional. That also goes with the tablets called Arterosil HP.
That said… I haven’t started any of them yet, but will be starting them tomorrow.
But at least you can look at what I was prescribed to take by my integrative doctor. He is a full doctor, but he doesn’t practice the traditional medicine though he’s fully qualified to do that if he wanted to do that. My primary care physician basically looked at my blood test results and said I have extremely high cholesterol and to watch my diet and come back at the end of May so he can prescribe something like a Staten. And again… I won’t take a statin, so I wanna try this and a major change of my diet. Basically, my diet will go to mostly Mediterranean diet, but I’m going to limit my fish to some extent because of all of the forever toxins in fish. You can get the equivalent omega-3‘s with flax seeds and Chia seeds alternatively, rather than through fish.
I hope this helps you too. At least get some idea of what a doctor might prescribe. So that you can discuss it with your own doctor. Traditional doctors don’t usually like to do things that are supplements or herb-based. They usually like to put you on statins.
For me that’s not really an option. I want to take so that’s why I went to an integrative doctor who’s really quite good. Anyways, I hope this is helpful as food for thought.
He may do zoom consultations, though I don’t know for sure. But anyways, the name of the practice is in this comment.
    Sorry for the long comment.

How about not taking the supplements right before bed? Take them earlier in the day and see if it helps

@@Sunlightsam24 I watched a Dr Berg video that said we should take them before bed to ease pain and sleep better. It did help with me not waking up at 2am for a couple hours, but still feeling sleepy and groggy and antsy in the morning like I didn't sleep at all 🙁

@@Bexs_Books_ Even though Dr Berg recommends taking it right before bed, I find taking them a little earlier works better same with Kefir. Taking them right before bed tends to stimulate the nervous system and digestive system affecting the sleep.

@@Bexs_Books_ Ugghhh, sounds like very long days! Everyone is different so changing things for timing may be the answer for you! It’s funny, for example, I can’t use collagen supplements, I get bloated and uncomfortable, and I’ve tried multiple times with different products. I can drink bone broth though :)

I started taking Berberine about a week ago. It somehow does make me feel less hungry. Maybe not less hungry but I don’t have “cravings” for things I shouldn’t be eating.
I think because it probably does regular glucose levels. Says it’s also good for cardiovascular health so, I’ll keep taking it and see what happens. I’ll take it before eating or after eating to see what works better. The first couple of times I took it, it gave me upset stomach so I put it away for a while, but then I came across it while going through my supplements and I haven’t had that issue.

Yup been taking berberine now for about a year and although I have addictive tendencies and can consume lots of carbs and sugars at times I feel it helps stabilise my insulin.

Right. Some of Dr Berg’s videos on how to stop carbs cravings may help.

It is a substance of cold nature. So, it is not recommended for people whose digestion is not good enough. Touch your stomach with a dry hand in room temperature to feel the temperature of the stomach. If you have weak digestion, it is normally cool or cold. If you take it for long, you may suffer from nausea, constipation and rashes. Some people whose body temperature is low will feel cooler in the same room temperature. Chinese Medicine practitioners prescribe it to patients to stop diarrhea and it is not supposed to be a supplement for all body types. The substance was discovered by a female doctor in Nanjing, China. Berberine was found effective for the Three Highs but she understands enough it is not for everybody! Some use it to cure bedsores as well. Your digestive capacity will be even worse if it is not for your type. You may say your digestion is good, but I don't think it is good for long term use, your digestive system will turn bad, too! This is my opinion. You are advised to consult your doctor first before use. May the Lord bless you with good health and right judgement! Amen!

Berakah and Shalom, Dr. Berg❤️ Thank you for sharing this information. I opted to take berberine instead of metformin when I was diagnosed with diabetes. Praise to the Most High His plants worked for me❣️ my question is which is better for you: berberine HCL or real berberine? Any guidance is appreciated🥰
