Honestly, what really makes me come back to this game has to be the music and the characters. 2nd boss music has to still be my favourite, I think. Fun video, looking forward to seeing more!
Nice, great to have a place to find new ones. Personally some roguelikes that are underrated in my opinion are: Noita: You are a witch that goes pew, goal unclear. + In depth wand building + A lot of extra exploration and secrets, more hidden biomes and bosses than on the main track + Brutally unfair, for example, some spells instant kill, crits are 5x damage and you can turn enemy's into defenseless sheep - Brutally unfair, for example, your spells can instant kill you, some bosses have damage reflection, and enemy's can turn you into a defenseless sheep - Variety comes from exploration, which might be difficult in the beginning, as getting past the 3rd area is a difficult. Shattered pixel dungeon: Its a classic turn based, tile based roguelike. It is in my opinion one of two games that are actually playable on mobile, and can easily be described as a coffee break roguelike, if you have 15 minute on the bus/break, it can be a great option. Balancing and art are great. Its free (supported by donations, no ads). It does have a learning curve, however unlike many in its genre, its a very polished game. Cubes Chaos: Reading the cubes explains the cubes. + A lot of great emergent interactions + Surprisingly balanced on normal difficulties + With the amount of class-species combinations, many playing differently, there is a lot of replay value - ugly, it has heart, but it is undeniably ugly - the game is difficult to understand, for example, around 50% of bug reports are features being misinterpreted
Oh these sounds great! I will say I am sort of familiar of Noita. A game that has been on my radar but have been a bit intimidated to play. That being said I will happily check out the other two! Thank you for the suggestions!
As someone with 65+ hours in this game and still increasing that number.... play this game y'all, trust, it's one of the best of the best. (Also subbed, this channel is destined to great things I can feel it, amazing quality.) (Edit: Also also, at the time of writing this, the game is still receiving content updates, a couple months ago I believe, we got the update that added new enemies and the boss variants. And a few weeks ago, we got the update that added the daily challenges with run modifiers. AND, not only it gets updates, but the game also has modding support by the devs 🔥)
@@roguelikerabbit Yus!!! I really like the style of your channel, it has a lot of character :) On modding, the devs' discord server has chats dedicated to both mod showcases and mod development, good place to start.
@@Kennedy00Louis im glad! I’m doing my best to improve every video as well! And I will def need to look though I haven’t had time to play too much more but I wanna see what’s out there!
Picked up Cobalt Core a few weeks back for Switch. I'm excited to dig into it soon after finishing up Wild Bastards and Final Fantasy 9. Stoked to see more people discovering this gem and I'm glad I came across this channel. Keep up the good work!
@@roguelikerabbit For sure! I'll dive deep into Cobalt Core soon. And if you're on the lookout for more rougelikes, I recommend the recently released Wild Bastards and Cult of the Lamb.
The game caught me off guard, had no clue it was coming out. And then bam it came out. Next thing you know I have like 30 hours and I'm trying to convince all my friends to download it haha, is personally one of my favourites
Yeah honestly I can see it. It’s super exciting it’s coming out next year though I hope it comes out with full workshop support because that is the experience that truly keeps me coming back
So, I don’t know how open to critic you are but as a first video this seems..like a pretty meh review. 5/5 means PERFECT. You’re saying that this game is almost perfection, and the review of difficulty being “Yeah could be easy or not it depends” just seems. Bleh. Entertaining visuals but i think the video suffers from a short length for me
I see your point. I will admit reflecting a bit on it it's a fair point. I suppose it's less being perfect and more being very enjoyable for me. It's hard to say anything is perfect so 5/5 feels different for me? I can understand where you are coming from though! Maybe I should be more strict but going with my scale of 5 doesn't leave much room to go onto nit picks at least in my opinion and honestly thank you for the feedback. I have honestly been wanting to get honest thoughts on if I should lengthen my reviews or not. And it helps so I greatly appreciate it! My Rabbit and Steel review is a bit longer though it still suffers from the rating system you brought up. I am not sure if I will change as it's just a feeling for me but I have thought maybe I can be too lenient. But again thank you for your feedback!
@@roguelikerabbit You could also stand to overlay your avatar onto relevant footage rather than having a solid background with nothing else going on besides talking, which happens for significant chunks of your video. The game footage itself is at the wrong aspect ratio, being horizontally squished!
@@gwentan6776 this is true! I have been experimenting with that more in my video I’m working on now! Also I think sadly the reason it’s a bit awkward is because I have an ultra wide monitor so capture can be a bit weird! Ill do much best to take closer care of
As someone that is looking to discover more obscure roguelikes to play, finding such a high quality channel so early on is magic ~ Instant sub!
Aw thank you so much! I hope to be able to share many more!
