    • @ginoasci
      @ginoasci 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I agree. This is a self promoting video.
      Hey look, I helped this young man…..but doesn’t show how.
      Pretty much the exercises are pulling your chin straight back.
      Not up or down, but straight back.
      The strap is to help guide your neck forward with a little pressure while you pull your chin straight back.
      It stretches the muscles in the back of the neck, and help put the curve back in the cervical part of the spine. Which is the neck.
      You can put some pressure and do the chin tuck, but don’t go crazy,
      If you feel pain, back off.
      That’s with any stretching exercises.
      Pull until it starts to hurt, and back off a little. If you know when it’s going to hurt, stop just before that point.
      Hope that helps.
      Good luck !

    I have had tinnitus for many years in my left ear , just in the last few weeks I have been experiencing dizziness, lightheadedness . Checked my ears at the ENT , other than some wax in my right ear , followed by a hearing test , everything was fine . I do spend a lot of time in front of my computer 🖥️ It could possibly be that I’m using poor posture which is causing a spike in my ear and dizziness. I’m going to try retracting my neck like this and hope it helps . Ringing stopped until Docs popped it back in, but volume, pitch & tone has changed for the better.

One day I had a massage machine and i was using it on my neck because it was tense. What I did was I put it on the back of my neck, then i layed my head back to the couch and left it on like that while i watched a movie. I had it thwre for about 15 min and then i stopped it and got up to get water when I noticed thst the ringing was gone. I have somatosensory tinnitus. My T is much louder on the left side. I can increase the T by clenching my jaw, and the more force I apply, the louder it gets. When I do so, the sound becomes symmetrical (left is not louder at that moment). My T sound is high pitched one, although when I open my mouth wide open my T changes and becomes like a sound of a water stream.
    When clench only right side of my jaw (right raw of teeth) it becomes louder on that side, left - on the left side.
    When I turn my head to the sides, my T becomes louder only on the left side for some reason. The more I turn, the louder it gets.
    I hear popping sounds when I move my jaw. Sometimes I have difficulty opening my jaw because it feels “heavy”. But I do not have pain in my jaw. I probably have bruxism? I have pain in my neck muscles often.
    Stress affects my T too, during stressful situations it becomes much louder.
    Doctors checked my hearing 2 times - it’s perfect.
    I’m a male in my 20’s, suffer from this for almost a year now. This sound is very annoying and scary. Masking and music does not help. Self massage reduces just a tiny bit (or maybe placebo effect?) I applied lidocaine on my jaw and neck - no effect at all.
    The idea that something is wrong in my brain because muscle and hearing nerves interfere with each other bothers me a lot. It means that my brain and nervous systems suck and there is no way to treat this.
    I suffer from depression and anxiety, but is it the cause of my T or my T is the cause of those, I don’t know, probably not much relationship because my T is asymmetrical and can be modulated with muscle and joint movements.
    My body is in a constant fight or flight response mode, when I hear my T I freak out, panic, my heart works fast and I don’t know what to do.
    Diet, sleep, vitamins, sport, relaxation - I tried those, no help. I don’t drink alcohol and don’t smoke anything. I don’t listen to loud music.
    Please if u have the same condition as me comment down below about what led to your tinnitus (head injury, stress, etc) and what types of treatment have u tried. Let’s destroy this tinnitus together.

    WELL I live in Las Vegas, who should I see about Mechanical issues of the neck, if in fact that IS my problem? My left ear 'hears' tones at a higher pitch, I have hyperacusiss (sensitivity to sound) and awful Tinnitus - some days worse than others. I have tried supplements, exercises, sound therapy, all yielding little if any relief. Is there a listing of special chiropractors that specialize in the McKenzie Method?

  • @daves7935
    @daves7935 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I went to see a McKenzie trained physiotherapist about this. My tinnitus goes up 3 - 4 times as loud when I do a chin tuck. I thought perhaps I need to keep doing the chin tuck stretch to break through my muscle issues in order to reduce the volume of the sound. However, the physiotherapist said I should avoid doing any stretching that makes the sound louder, even if it is just louder during the actual stretch. He advised doing other, lighter neck stretches instead. I'm not sure what to do as I feel that my tinnitus is coming from the muscles in my sub-occipital area which are being stretched by the chin tuck. Please advise.

    • @robk9330
      @robk9330 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You seem to have the exact same problem as me (my left ear). Did you manage to sort it out? Do you have eye floaters or TMJ as well? When I do chin tucks or massage the sub-occipital area, my tinnitus sound goes up in volume as well. Also, when I massage around the SCM muscle and behind the ear or a bit lower down, its super tight and the volume goes up. I thought my forward neck posture created this tinnitus problem, but I think its my tight upper back and neck muscles that caused it because I've had the forward neck posture for many years, but the tinnitus, TMJ and eye floaters all started around the same time about 3 years ago, probably because I started using the computer all day every day without getting off from my seat around 4 years ago. I've read some success stories of people with tinnitus getting rid of it by doing trigger point therapy (massaging using your thumb or tennis ball etc.) for several months on the upper trapezius and SCM muscles, so I just started doing that today and will see how it goes. I'll also just be aware more of my posture as well and try not to be in front of the computer for too long at a time.

      @daves7935 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@robk9330 Thanks for replying. I only checked back on this thread today. It does sound like we have similar symptoms and cause. Any stretching of my suboccipital muscles or if I widen my mouth all the way makes it go up. When it's bad, every chew I take or every step I take when running gives a higher volume as well. Also, if I do exercises that use my upper neck muscles the sound goes up (overhead press, etc). I'm not sure if it's a neck muscle issue or through using the muscles I am impacting an auditory nerve. Tough to say. I know I have had head-forward posture in the past plus my job involves sitting at a desk all day. That, and being rear-ended about 10 years ago in a car accident, I believe are the cause of my tinnitus. When it's bad, I can often get it to calm down a bit by lying down and relaxing my muscles and nervous system. I have not found that pressing on any particular muscle makes it get better or worse though. There is a whole program called Tinnitus Synergy that is made for people with tinnitus due to neck muscle issues (www.tinnitussynergy.com). It is a paid for program but may be worth a shot. I signed up for the "Muscle Care" part. I think it has helped me at times but that's tough to say on bad days (like today for me). The other thing I have found helpful is to reduce my carb intake. I went on keto for a while that I found helped. Please keep me posted on anything you find that is helpful and I'll do the same. It's good connecting with people that have similar issues.

      @@daves7935 I feel that the massaging has allowed me to rotate my head side to side more, but in terms of the tinnitus, it is still the same, but I don't get a lot of spikes anymore though. When I do chin tucks, I get a lot of crackling in the back of my skull, which is why I stopped doing them and also because I don't believe it will help me until I fix my whole body due to a pelvic imbalance. My issues might be different to yours - for example, my right leg is slightly longer than my left leg and also my right ribcage is lower. I think due to my posture from sitting down, there are muscle imbalances which led to the TMJ and tinnitus.

      @@SyedShah-hc3zg check out this info:
      Tinnitus Explanation and Links
      From what I’ve researched on the internet through articles, videos and comments I have discovered that tinnitus or ringing in the ears can be the result of noise, head, physical and/or emotional trauma, high blood pressure, dental problems like bruxism (teeth grinding) or TMJ (jaw clenching) at night while sleeping, excessive ear wax or ear infection or other ear related issues, stress and anxiety, certain medications, Epstein Barr or other viruses, EMF’s from WIFi/5G or upper cervical subluxated Atlas and Axis (C1 and C2) neck related issues and even chemicals from hair dyes, personal care products and cosmetics, certain allergies to foods, Salicylates, oxalates, lectins (otherwise known as Plant Paradox), bad diet or nutritional and/or vitamin and mineral deficiencies like vitamin C, zinc, iron, iodine, magnesium, D3 and K, and even parasites. Some people also believe it’s part of the ascension process into a higher frequency and that it’s the sound of angels, higher beings, the cosmos or God communicating with them through their hearing.
      The standard explanation is that the brain is basically in fight or flight mode and you’re hearing your own nervous system on red alert. It can fix itself over time by using a process called habituation which is accepting it and getting used to the sound and/or neuroplasticity which is fundamentally rewiring the brain and creating new neural pathways by training it not to hear the sound which makes it recede into the background and eventually disappears because the brain sees that it is no longer a threat and as unimportant. This is achieved through the repetition of positive mental affirmations, visualization and relaxation techniques like deep breathing, meditation, yoga, Qi gong and/or exercise and/or neck release exercises called trigger point therapy, upper cervical chiropractic adjustments and/or regular chiropractic, certain dental procedures which involve the use of mouth guards and jaw releasing, relaxation and massage exercises, cranial sacral therapy, EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique also known as ‘tapping’, hypnotherapy, visualization, and other body and mind relaxation therapies and/or masking with nature sounds or pink noise. What can also help is reducing/removing some or all coffee, teas, sodas, alcohol, salt, sugar, spices, condiments, dairy, carbs, nuts, seeds, the night shade family of veggies, salicylates and oxylates from the diet and intermittent, 24 or 48 hour wet or dry fasting. Some people see results whether they’re vegan, vegetarian or meat eaters and even some do none of the above and still get better over time. Still, the majority of what I’ve read and seen in videos is that a healthy diet, stress reducing exercises and ignoring the sound so the brain can retrain itself not to hear it have the most impact on reducing and healing T.
      A comment from Elann Suvat on one of Julian Cowan Hill’s videos:
      “As others have said do not go on Tinnitus Talk. In fact do not google anything. Tinnitus is a symptom of a neurological condition that can be resolved. Learn to rewire your brain through helpful videos such as this one. Reduce stress and disrupt chronic stress, get down to the root of your anxiety and depression, rewire your brain not to be sensitive or hypersensitive to environmental noise and life around you.”
      “It can be done. It can be reversed. One key thing about tinnitus is not to have anger, hate, stress, fixation on it. It will only make it worse and allow it to stay. Do not give your tinnitus power. Embrace it. Think of your tinnitus as a bodily noise that’s telling you your body is alive and busy healing. It’s telling you something important. Find the root cause. Is it neurological, physiological or both? Do away with negativity and toxic relationships. Diet and lifestyle are extremely important. Sleep, reduction of stress, EXERCISE, having positive social relationships, working toward a move of happiness and relaxation every day. Be kind, compassionate, patient and authentic to yourself. This is crucial. Be courageous.”
      Check out Julian Cowan Hill, Liam Stops Tinnitus, James Karthaus, Peter Studenik and Joey Remenyi and many others in the video compilation list below. They all healed from tinnitus using their own (and sometimes combined) techniques.

      Basically a chintuck with pressure and support. You keep your head straight and try to move it backwards. Put/imagine your finger infront of your chin and think that you're backing away with your chin but keeping your body still. It's stretching the front of your neck mostly

      @@changadorji7518 here’s some info that may help:

But a few years ago I have found that if I put my hand under my ear on my neck & push in I don’t hear it but when I let go it starts to make the annoying noise like right now my kids are being loud & the louder they get the louder the sound in my ear gets I have learned to live with it for the first year I cried off & on cause it was so hard for me to hear with the sound & I felt like people were getting upset when I would have them to repeat their selfs & I was getting yelled at at work cause people though I was ignore them even my boss. My family knows that if I’m not in the same room as them & are calling my name that I can’t hear them & they just keep on & when I go to the kitchen or bathroom they look at me & say I been calling your name I be like well you know I can’t hear. It’s really hard on me even when they have the TV turned up really loud that’s why I stay in my room.

It all started back up a week again but I have a teacher friend that I work with that has it in both ears & she got hearing aids in both ears she said that she can still hear the ringing in her ears but not as much if I get tired of it I might consider getting me some hearing aids. My dr asked me 3 weeks ago if I would like to try them well at that time my ringing wasn’t bad so I told her no. It is hard to deal with at first but as you go on you get used to it. Noise induced trauma can take time to heal. Neck and shoulder issues have exercises.
