  • HELLOOO BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!!!
    i hope that you enjoyed this day in my life!
    in this video, i was singing with my hearing aids so that i could test the sound quality, and my doctor (who is AMAZING) was working her butt off calibrating the sound quality to my liking!
    singing with my hearing aids will be a big step for me because i am very much used to not hearing myself and relying on vibration. it will definitely help me better my diction when i am singing. my diction has definitely been an obstacle in my singing, but i will continue to rise above it and keep going!!!

    When I heard the name "Jolene", I was hoping you'd break into the song, and you did not disappoint -- I'd love to hear you do a full cover! So sweet of you to let that little girl be a part of the video -- what a great example of reaching out and being inclusive! Thanks for brightening my morning, Mallory.

    Hi Mal, I’ve been watching your videos this morning while I’m stuck at home after ear surgery. It’s so interesting to watch your conversation with the audiologist and see how your hearing aids can be adjusted for singing! Thanks for sharing!

    Hi Mallory, you do a great job in working on your speech competence, and that you dont give up to adjust your hearing aids to best performance. I wear my hearing aids for 15 years now. For deep frequencies my loss starts at 40 dB, with the high frequencies it's around 80 dB. With my new hearing aids I can stream TV and mobile phone directly which works rather well, but I have problems in understanding people in crowded places or if somebody tries to speak with me from another room. Its mainly because I cant hear the f, th, s, sh good enough.
    I also like your music a lot. Keep going on this path!

      Hello!!! That’s awesome! When I’m watching TV I usually do it without my hearing aids just because I’m used to it more that way. I turn the tv up loud 😂 and my whole family likes to have the Closed Captions on 👏🏻 thank you for your kind words and your support 🖤🤟🏻

    I’m just wondering, have you tried putting a custom eartip on your hearing aids instead of the domes? Try that and you’ll probably have much better sound quality, as feedback is more likely with the domes and being you have a severe hearing loss in higher frequencies than you definitely probably would benefit more from the costom ear molds in the ric with the proper venting

    • @malcanthearyou
      @malcanthearyou  ปีที่แล้ว

      If I ever do wear Hearing aids again I would try that. I feel like the domes can be quite painful for my ears

    Thank you, I was afraid that I would have to play guitar without hearing as I will get my first HA in a week and have seen all complaints about sounds being electronic and altered. Your video gives me hope that a good tech can program them to be useful. ❤

      I am so glad that I encouraged you! I hope you're getting Beltone because the Beltone hearing aids are amazing!! When you first get your hearing aids, please do not be in a hurry when your audiologist is calibrating them. Make sure that it is calibrated to your liking. Of course, since it'll be your first hearing aid it will take some time getting used to, but wear them everyday and your ears will get used to it! Also, do not be afraid to take 'hearing breaks'. Sometimes, i go a day not having hearing aids in just because i need a break from all the noise that happens around me. Being deaf, it's a blessing to have an option to turn everything off when needed 😁

      @@malcanthearyou I will get Phonak Marvel's but I believe that they all are capable of a fair bit of adjustments if only the person behind the keyboard takes the time needed.
      Once again, thanks for giving me hope for the future!

      @@petaks01 Hi, I am a musician with a moderate hearing loss,.. I would highly recommend Widex out of my personal experience, as i have had also had the original brand of the one she used, which is ReSound,.. I had absolutely zero luck worh Resound, I had tried Phonak too,. Was ok, but not good enough for singing, I had to much overlay and other issues in the other devices,. Widex are known to be number one for musicians,.. as they have the best sound for musical sound they I’ve ever heard in my entire life.. But yes, it all comes down to the audiologist too,.. my audiologist is always amazing but im just super picky so,..

    Great video. My infant son has profound hearing loss. Where / how did you learn to speak and sing? And when did you start to learn sign language?

      Hi! Thank you for your kind words! I had a speech therapist who helped me with speech growing up, I still have a speech therapist. I don’t know how I got started into singing. My mom says I was always very vocal growing up. My aunt told my mother after hearing me sing
      one day,”Your daughter is going to be famous, you need to put her in voice lessons ASAP.” 😂😂😂 I actually want to make a video explaining everything!!!

    Dear Mallory, I am Christophe, exactly in the same case : musician with aids which don't work very well. I am trying Oticon one but I don't think those are the best for playing violine or singing. I will taste Phonak in a little week but I am looking for experiences like your's to lose fewer time as possible. Could you please tell me what aids you are using ? Thank you for all. Best regards Christophe

    Hey! How did u choose song to test it out with? I gotta do this with my audiologist because i had just switched hearing aids and also have the weird quality with the hearing aids i got when i’m singing, and he has to make adjustments when i see him next.. which song are best for testing the quality in general? Did you choose those specific songs specifically for any particular reason? Or just because thats what you were in the mood to choose? Need some recommendations lol 😂

    • @malcanthearyou
      @malcanthearyou  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey girl hey! 🖤 choose songs that use your whole vocal range! See how the sound quality is when you’re singing high loud soprano and then see what the sound quality is when you’re singing in low chest voice.
