Do Foam Gun Car Wash Systems Work? | Chemical Guys Snow Foam Blaster R1 by Torq | Touchless Car Wash

  • This week I show you how to use a Snow Foam Gun and see if it works and makes it worth saving money over a Foam Cannon. The system I review is the Chemical Guys Snow Foam Blaster R1 by Torq and I walk through how to use the system and just how well it works as a touchless car wash option when your car isn't too dirty.
    I also share what went well and what didn't when using the Foam Gun. I also use the Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow Foam Car Wash Soap.

    Finally a guy that stress top down when washing your car. It more about your car being dirtier at the bottom than the top than gravity. Also teh soap runs down which you have said and helps remove the extra dirt at the bottom of the car.

    • @OurRideLife
      @OurRideLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for adding about the soap running down. When I learned to wash my first car I bought a book on automotive detailing and the guys stressed washing from the top down. This has always stuck with me and I’ve noticed a number of videos about washing cars where this isn’t done, so I like to make sure and mention it whenever I wash a car.

    Thanks for the demo. Very effective for washing cars. Foam gun is perfect for washing. No need for a power washer and cannon to wash a car. If your car is that dirty to need a power washer then you need to take better care of your cars. I’d never use a power washer on a painted car unless it had a full filtration system and softened water or a deionizer system hooked up.

    • @OurRideLife
      @OurRideLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some very good points. It does a very good job. It is also less intimidating compared to a foam cannon as using a power washing on a painted car could cause issue if you don’t have a filtration/ water softening system as you referenced. The high water pressure could also cause issues for folks with areas of slight paint cracking making it much worse.

    Thanks for the video. I have found that snow foam guns are a complete waste of time. I am a REAL CAR DETAILING NUT who loves keeping his cars looking nice. I also love trying any new, innovative idea to help improve my car detailing efforts. My frustrations with these guns are- have to drag out, set up, connect your pressure washer ( time consuming ), set up the foam gun, adjust, spray....then wash?? After it all, spend another amount of time putting everything away?? Why not simply use a couple of bucket, a hose and a wash mitt?

    • @OurRideLife
      @OurRideLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do make a good point. It is kind of fun to use and is a lot faster on a car that is just dusty and doesn’t need to be wiped.
      However, especially with the foam cannons, there may be a bit of look at me for some. I now have a Cannon and I like it when I don’t need to do the extra soap with a wash mitt, but when that is needed then it doesn’t always make as much sense to use.

    • @OurRideLife

      @@OurRideLife Yeah man your info is really good to know. I have realized I must cut it some slack as it isn’t powered by a pressure/power washer. For being powered by a regular hose nozzle, it still definitely gets the job done while it does guzzle the soap! The pressure washer nozzle may be the best route however, as it seems even more effortless.

      Since this I personally use a foam cannon these days and that provides a lot more foam.

    My impression was it was not worth anything
    Poor performance compared to power washer and dedicated 40$ gun
    After all how much poor performance can u handle after buying a nicer car?
    My answer was to get a karcher and a gun. Torque orbital and make it a hobby

      You make a good point. It works well for what it is, but I’ll probably invest more and get a snow foam cannon for washing. I’m slowly collecting the rest of what is becoming a detailing hobby. Hopefully, the car looks better and not worse once I’m done with it.

      Our Ride Life
      You have a nice pace and all
      After the investing in washing i added lots of various types of compounds anti swirl stuff pastes seals and it was a learning curve
      Last year!!
      This year my car sat for months n months with all my issues
      It was base line clean and detailed prior to being ignored
      Then did a spray n rinse no wash just to see where my time was going to be needed and shock of shocks the meguires hybrid ceramic wax repelled dirt amd left my car stunning. For real no wash!!!
      Have the soap and all my two bucket supplies ready!!!
      Wheels are a mess and i will hot wash soon and re apply
      Honestly have probably 300$ just in cleaning and waxing supplies!!
      I still love some others
      But
      Wow
