I sometimes use a foam gun for the purpose you stated. Lubrication. If you wash your coated car weekly, or even every 2 weeks, a foam cannon should not be needed. The foam gun serves the same purpose, as neither gun or cannon will remove road film for the most part. Only hand washing will do that. Of course if you drive in mud or gravel roads, that's a different story. I use the foam gun on mine to remove loose stuff, rinse it, then foam it again and hand wash. But I am lazy, that beats dragging the pressure washer out of the shed at the tender age of 72

I’ve had a foam gun for two years and love it. I don’t need a foam cannon since my cars are washed weekly and I don’t want to drag out the pressure washer every time I wash the car. I don’t get quite the foam as a cannon but I like the fact the foam I get flows off the car a little more quickly removing some particles that I may not have with the pre rinse. I also get more foam with my gun than you did with yours. I can also fill my gun and get 4 washes out of each fill.
I just made purchase of 2nd new vehicle since 1993. Between that time I been buying used. So I decided to keep the paint on this one in top condition. During research, you have become my guide for the task. Just ordered about $600 worth of products from most of your recommendations and links. Thank you, Pan!

Your videos are spot on. I was using me leaf blower this morning to dry my car at 0600 (another video). I guess next time I need to make a pitcher of Tequila Sunrise Rises for the neighbors. Holy cow, my neighbors wash their cars with brushes you would use to clean cattle and the dry them with an 18-inch squeaky.
Another great video. I use a pump sprayer for wheels when I do them separately, but a foam cannon for pre-washes. I've had success with replacing the stock orifice with a 1.1 mm Foam Cannon Orifice -- the smaller opening produces a thicker foam. Only a few US dollars from Amazon.
Hi Pan, great video. I use a Marolex pump sprayer just for the wheels, and Bilt Hamber Autofoam in an AutoGlym foam cannon. The Adams foam is thick, but the real test is how well it cleans. Also it looks like the Adams would take a lot of rinsing to clear the car…..and the driveway too! BH foam cleans brilliantly and doesn’t linger on the driveway either. If you have access to a pressure washer, can’t see a use for a foam gun.
Got me a pressure washer and I didn't even bother washing my car with the "foam cannon" that came with it. Just waited for a professional one, even though I am not, let me tell you, there is a HUGE difference between a legit pressure washer/foam cannon set up and a little sud sprayer. Save your money, RYOBI makes a really good budget pressure washer, foam cannon would be a nice investment if you want to keep your car looking nice!
I have very good luck with the Chemical Guys foam blaster which is used with a high quality garden hose fairly high water pressure in my area. I use Mr. Gold Chemical Guys soap and this combo seems to work as well as a pressure washer with chemicals. I'm cleaning a Porsche Taycan Turbo S and a 911 Turbo S. They are 2 and 5 years old, but we keep them looking quite new with this process plus the detailing aids Pan recommends.

Great video as always. I live in Germany where we aren't allowed to wash our cars in our driveways. I would need to go to a self wash station. That is why I got an electric foam gun that pumps the air for me, gets great results and is very versatile.
Thanks for the helpful video once again Pan. I never thought to rinse out my mtm foam cannon after foaming. Will do that from now on. One thing of interest to me would be the new cordless foam sprayers and foam cannons. It would be great if you can review one or 2 of those.
11:32 Does the gun come with a (female) quick connect adapter to screw onto your hose so that you can connect it to the (make) quick connect fitting on the gun, or do you need to buy one?
I currently use the Adams premium foam GUN, I just got into the hobby and personally do enjoy how the foam gun adds some nice lubrication and pre soap before actually cleaning the vehicle. Personally wish I would've invested the money though to get the foam cannon and just a decent electric pressure washer because I personally am looking for more of that thick coated substance on the car I'm cleaning. Do I know why i want all that extra foam other than it looks a hell of a lot cooler when i clean it? no.
This one: amzn.to/3oLvwDP So you can buy it as just the pressure washer, or you can get a full kit with upgraded wands, guns, foam cannon, etc here: bit.ly/3wqtnC2
I guess I don't understand. I thought the whole point of snow foam is to stick better/longer therefore break down contamination better. But, you said the Adams Mega Foam is not meant to be a cleaning foam. So...what is it supposed to be used for?
something perhaps worth pointing out in the pro/con listings: cannon requires electric and water hook-ups, gun requires water-only hook up, and pump requires absolutely nothing but elbow grease. kind of a deciding factor for most- even you. you said you use cannon because you have the hook-ups (and machine). in other scenarios, pump is the only way to go. btw, I use a pump for wheel treatments; cannon for all else.
Great video pan I remember waxing my car about 15 years ago now and I said to myself I’ll never was my car again I was working in the heat which made it so hard to buff out was a total nightmare Now thanks to you and all your videos you’ve inspired me to try and wash my car once again

Another excellent tutorial! I started off with a foam gun and graduated to foam cannon and pressure washer, it's also great to see the difference with a pump up foaming sprayer. Tks pan 🏆

This helped me realize a gun will be better for me than a cannon. I have no use for a pressure washer other than cleaning the cars I own. I don't do the stuff with a washer that many other people do around their homes. About the gun you used, it was very "runny" as you mentioned. Does this affect how well it removes loose dirt by much compared to the cannon? I plan to hose off the foam afterwards and then continue with a bucket and mitt anyway so as long as the "runny" foam still does a decent job even compared to a cannon and pressure washer, it seems I can still enjoy the look of foam and the benefits of foaming the car as a pre-wash. I understand a cannon will make the better foam and yield better results but using a gun and garden hose isnt just a fool's errand, right?
Runny doesn't affect their performance. What does matter is what type of snow foam you are using. A neutral snow foam like the Adam's Mega Foam isn't meant for cleaning, it's just meant to help remove loose dirt safely and add lubrication on the surface. For cleaning grime and traffic film better, you need a snow foam like Bilt Hamber Auto-Foam or CarPro Lift, which are alkaline snow foams. More about that in my video here: th-cam.com/video/8j5dJUM8Fb4/w-d-xo.html
Do you think I could use a backpack style garden sprayer to foam my car? Seems like it would be much easier to pump and would hold more shampoo mixture without having to refill. Thanks
Yes, absolutely. As long as it's a foaming type sprayer. If it's just meant for liquids, it won't work with foaming type applications. There are normal liquid sprayers, and then there are foaming type sprayers. If you want a larger style foamer, check this one out: bit.ly/3lBhsyb See my review here: th-cam.com/video/I5WRp8bvTAU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WAGiM0o-uOlIApiC
Hey Pan! Always enjoy how you provide education to us. I am a team foam cannon member. I have an MTM PF22 and after 3 years of use, no issues. Great product and I am sure there are a great selection of cannons to buy. Great video. Till the next one.
I have both and used both. I quit using the foam cannon and just use the foam gun. I couldn’t tell the difference in them. The foam cannon foam looked cool. So much easier with the foam gun. I just use the pressure to cleaner to clean the driveway and things that need a lot of pressure to clean.
That's odd. There has never been a foam gun that I have seen perform as well as a foam cannon in a proper setup. What kind of pressure washer are you using?
@@PanTheOrganizer Simpson 4 gallons a minute 4,000 psi. Control valve pressure regulator. Maybe I wasn’t clear, the foam cannon with the the pressure cleaner puts out is off the charts. Didn’t see any difference in the final cleaning results. Thats why I just use the foam gun. I modified it so it puts out a lot more foam. Sir you have probably forgot more about car detailing that I will ever know. I try to watch everything you post. I hope this explains it. I should have been more clear. You have a great day and a Merry Christmas !🎄🎁
Ah ok now that makes more sense hehe. A pressure washer and foam cannon will always output way more foam than a standard foam gun and garden hose. Just be careful using such a high pressure unit. It's never recommended to use more than 2000 psi to wash cars. I set my high end Kranzle pressure washer to 1000 psi (2.1GPM) when washing cars. Water flow is more important than pressure. As far as cleaning, not all snow foams are meant to have a cleaning power. So there's likely a reason why you don't see a difference in your current situation, depending on what snow foam you are using. There are only a handful of snow foams that actually do pre-cleaning of the surface during the pre-wash stage. Those are usually higher up in the pH scale so you wouldn't use them every week. I made a video comparing different snow foams cleaning power here: th-cam.com/video/8j5dJUM8Fb4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1SewfCb6R0Gg9wqF th-cam.com/video/I7z8ajojRVI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7JlpedqkyP2rBtwM Long story short, if you are just using a pH neutral snow foam, that won't do much for "cleaning". Those are meant more for lubrication on the surface prior to the contact wash, to reduce chances of marring. For deeper cleanings, that's when you can pull out snow foams like Bilt Hamber Touch-Less, Bilt Hamber Auto-Foam and CarPro Lift. Those actually eat away at the grime and road film, before you wash the car. What snow foam are you using?
Hmm if u drill a hole in the pump sprayer and put a bulkhead fitting and qd, u can quick connect your shop air compressor and blast foam pretty well I'd imagine
Can you do a show on wether or not to purchase any coatings for the car dealerships. In the US car dealerships try to upscale DuPont coatings and other brands applied by the dealership. Just wondering if they are any good.
Never buy any protection the dealership offers. They offer cheap products at a high cost to maximize profits. Bring your car to a reputable professional detailer and have them apply a good ceramic coating, or do the work yourself. I have tons of easy to follow tutorials.
I wouldn't do that, as that would mean coating and car and ruining the coating, polishing it off and redoing it. No customer would agree to such a test. And it's pointless in my opinion. Just don't expose the vehicle to water or rain for the first 24 hours. Period. Follow the instructions of the coating you are buying.
Hi Pan, how often do you use your water deioniser? All stages of the wash or just the final rinse? Just the final rinse and only when washing in the sun?
If Adams Mega Foam isn’t meant to be used as a cleaning snow foam, then what’s the point of using it? Shouldn’t the goal of the pre wash be to clean as much as possible so that the hand wash involves the least amount of dirt as possible?
Yes, but some just want a neutral some foam to act as a lubricant on the surface, not necessarily heavier alkaline level cleaning for each weekly wash.
I’ve tried a foam gun and against a foam cannon it’s way behind with regards to the thickness of foam you get. I would always tell people f your serious then get a pressure washer and cannon
I always at first thought it was the same thing. But coming to your channel I learned they are not. I used both but it wasn't for cars at the time it was for cleaning dog cages at animal shelters & pet hotels. I personally like the cannon for cars.
Hi Pan, I use both. When children are around they love to use the foam canon with the pressure washer. For regular maintenance wash I like to use the foam gun since the car gets a nice layer of soap this way, sometimes I combine and dilute different types of soaps. Do they make a foam gun to be used on my air compressor if yes would the dilution portion change.
Hey Pan, I appreciate all the videos and how detail oriented you are. Definitely helped me learn how to properly care for my car. I have the Adam’s foam cannon and don’t produce a thick foam like that though. I’ve used the amount of soap recommended on the bottle (Carpro reset and gtechniq citrus foam) and have even tried double the amount of soap. I have it set to max foam and use a green works pressure washer with the garden hose connected to it. Could it be just because of the type of water?
Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on TH-cam as we surpassed 990,000 subscribers and we have over 135 million views! I have been detailing for 27 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers. You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing. There are many factors that influence the quantity, thickness and richness of snow foam: 1. Type of foam cannon (smaller orifices lead to thicker foam, but can potentially trip your circuit breaker depending on your setup) 2. Type of pressure washer (a higher amount of GPM water output leads to more foam, so a pressure washer with 1.3 GPM will produce less foam than one that pumps out 2.1 GPM) 3. Type of snow foam (not all snow foams produce the same amount of foam) 4. Dilution ratio of snow foam (adjust the dilution according to your setup. Start with the recommendations on the label, and increase the amount as needed). 5. Water quality. The better the water, the more foam and suds you get. So deionized water will always produce more foam compared to hard tap water, for example.
Pan thanks for the video. I am a weekend warrior. Currently using the foam gun. I ordered the your favorite pressure washer. Looking forward to using it with a foam cannon! I think I will use my foaming pump sprayer (Swiftjet) for the wheels and tires with P&S. Keep up the good work!!
Hi! What type of power strip is that on your workbench? Is it part of the bench set or aftermarket? I can’t find a safe power strip for the same type of setup.
I'm curious how much of an effect garden hose water pressure has on foam gun foam thickness. My hose is hooked up to a hydrant that comes off the service going into my home (~150 psi) before the pressure is reduced inside my home. Will the higher pressure give a thicker foam. Are foam guns designed to handle 150 psi? Thanks! Jack
More than pressure, it's the water output (GPM) that generates the most foam. For example, on a pressure washer, you could have a unit pushing 2000 psi but only @ 1.3 GPM. You could have another pressure washer that pushes 1000 psi but at a much better 2.1 GPM water output. Well the second pressure washer will always generate richer, thicker foam.
@@PanTheOrganizer Ok, so translating that to the garden hose with a foam gun and assuming a 3/4"x100' foot hose, a water pressure of 60 psi = ~20gpm and @150psi = ~40gpm. From your description, the higher flow (at the higher pressure) would yield a richer, thicker foam. I'm sure the actual flow through the foam gun would be restrictive, but in principle am I understanding your reply correctly?
foam gun at home preferred. Cheap, ez, quick and reliable love it for maintenance washes….. and always use bead maker as a drying aid then top with dream maker 10/10 pan recommends 👍
Foam cannon all day for foaming the car for me... Only time I use pump foamers is when I want to be precise and save some product, usually between the doors and fenders etc + when washing rims after a wheel change. I still do not understand why they use metal threads with a plastic bottle, the Stihl I use is plastic on plastic with a big opening to not have a hassle with filling the bottle 🤔 How thick do you want the foam to be Pan? Still a little bit unsure but I would guess a slightly less concentrated than shaving foam?
That's just a question of personal preference really. Some people like thick foam, others prefer a more runny texture. Also, some snow foams produce thicker foam (like Adam's Mega Foam) and others product runnier foam (like Bilt Hamber).
literally just went back to using a MATCEE foam gun after my karcher died. does the job I'm the mean time while waiting for the active 2.0 PW to release!
Hi, does foam gun method removes less dirt compared to pressure washer? In one of your videos, you mentioned that pre wash removes 90% of the dirt, is this still holds true for foam gun (gardeen hose)?
Level of dirt removal has more to do with the type of snow foam you are using. A pH neutral snow foam won't remove as much dirt as a higher pH (like Bilt Hamber Touch-Less pH 10.5, Koch Chemie Active Foam pH 9.5, etc). But there is for sure a big difference in the thickness and quantity of foam a true pressure washer and foam cannon setup provides, compared to a garden hose and foam gun, as you saw in the video.
More or less yes. Keep in mind it’s the contact wash (after the snow foam) that will get the car 100% clean. The pre-wash with snow foam and foam cannon is there to get the majority of the loose dirt and debris off the car, before the contact wash.
Hi pan the foam cannon is definitely the best way to go do you happen to know what the orifice size was in the adams 1.25 or 1.1 I have a couple of cannons and use the 1.1 for a smaller pressure washer thanks 😊
@@PanTheOrganizer ok thanks pan it was getting pretty good foam I would probably go with the Mtm or the mjjc pro for my next purchase as I only have a smaller pressure washer my cheap foam cannons I have swapped out to the 1.1 orafice I’ll try some adams mega foam see if there is a difference
Hi Pan - could you please help me out. I would like to know what is the best to maintain ceramic coating after washing, I don’t want to use c2v3 anymore with microfibre cloth. I’m after something that I can spray and wash off. I use geon wet coat for wheel and I’m happy with that!
Hi Steven. If you prefer spray on, rinse off maintenance products, here are my favourites: bit.ly/3PoZSXv bit.ly/3SUG7dy bit.ly/3JXQvwN All three can be used on all the exterior parts: paint, glass, wheels, plastics, headlights, tail lights, etc. They will typically last 2 to 4 months on average. So perfect for use as maintenance on an existing ceramic coating.
I love my foam cannon. I use MJJC foam cannon pro and Chemical Guys Honeydew snowfoam auto wash. Love, love love them both. The foam is thick like shaving cream just as you demonstrated with Adams. Thank you for another informative video. Looking forward to the next one.
Hi Pan. It's big joe from Glasgow Scotland here. I don't know if you will remember me because it's been about a year since I posted a comment. At that time I Was waiting on a operation to my back for spinal stenosis. Well I had the surgery eventually. The delay was due to covid resulting to massive delays in the NHS operations. If you remember I asked if you would take your porche to the track as you did previously with your BMW. When you purchased your porche you and a your friend gave your porche a ceramic coating. I remember him saying that you would probably change your car after 2 years. Are you starting to get the I need a change urge?
Hi Joseph! I remember you! I hope everything went well with the surgery and hopefully you recovered well. Glad to have you back here! Yeah I get a brand new car every three years, so by spring of 2024, I'll have something new. Yes I did bring my car to the track, and measured a 10.1s quarter mile run @ 138 mph. What a blast this new 911 Turbo S !!! We also measured a 0-100 km/h in 2.3 seconds. What a beast!!
PSI isn't as important as water output (GPM). The higher the GPM the more foam you get. I set my pressure washer to 1100 psi when washing cars, but it pumps out a stout 2.1 GPM of water, which is more than most electric pressure washers on the market. Anything between 1000 to 2000 psi is good for washing cars, and you want 1.3GPM or more of water output. But there are more factors than just the pressure washer for getting good foam. The type of foam cannon, type of snow foam, dilution ration of snow foam and water quality (hard water vs deionized water) are all factors that impact the quality and quantity of foam you get.
Pan I love Porsches, owned one for 11 years, they drive like no other cars. The Turbo is an awesome car, but my friend it's an automatic.😫 My advice, trade it in on a manual GT3 Touring edition. I guarantee you more driving pleasure, with a 9,000 rpm redline. Intoxicating is an understatement. SaveTheManuals. Peace.
I like the sound of a GT3 but once you try the acceleration of a Turbo S, everything else seems so slow. And GT3 or GT3 RS are too track focused for me, not as comfortable for everyday use in my personal taste. Plus I love high quality audio and my Burmester sound system destroys the Bose (you can’t get the Burmester in GT3). Also, as my Porsche is my daily driver, I need all wheel drive for our harsh Canadian winters. And the PDK is the best automatic on the planet. So for all those reasons, I think you understand how my 911 Turbo S is the perfect pick for me and my needs. I absolutely love this car. I am done driving manual cars. I understand those who like it, but I used to like it at 20 years old. Not for daily use at 42 hehe. But is the GT3 a great car? Of course. It’s a Porsche. Even a Cayman or Macan are great vehicles. Cheers!
@@PanTheOrganizer No doubt Pan, I've test drove a Turbo S and the acceleration is so strong with launch control, it can give you a head rush. By the way I pick up my new 2023 GR Corolla on Monday. I want to ceramic coat it myself. I will wash it, then chemical decontamination with Iron remover, then clay bar it, then polish and prep wipe and finally ceramic coat it. What products would you recommend I use? I have a Porter Cable da polisher. What Foam pad? Which Polish? Thanks. Enjoy.
Thanks for the video Pan! I do not own a pressure washer, so I am using the Chemical Guys Foam Gun, combined with the 2 buckets method. I was impressed by the IK Pro 2 (I am using that with P&S Break Buster for the wheels) and was considering trying it with car shampoo, but after watching your video, I will stick to the foam gun. Can you do a video comparision of a complete car wash with shampoo? (1. Pressure Gun, 2. Foam gun, 3. IK Pro 2, 4. Two buckets method, 5. Rince-less wash) You could rank the different methods, add pro tips and mention pros & cons. Thank you!!
I like to use my foam cannon when I can but I do not have a garage so the pressure washer stays in the basement and hauling that out is time consuming so a portable foam gun is helpful I think both have a time and place
That gardenhose "foam gun" produces less foam than a wrung out sponge. That was pathetic.👎 Obviously, a foam cannon on a pressure washer is still the way to go.👍👍 Thanks, Pan. Good job.
See my two videos on that topic: th-cam.com/video/I5WRp8bvTAU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YQHbdiwq3Br4WcOc th-cam.com/video/esARO5ArBX0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VTJpGU5h5MJdPu3p
I wouldn't recommend mixing different products unless you know the chemistry and see if there's compatibility. At that point, just get a snow foam that has better pre-cleaning capabilities (more alkaline pH) like Bilt Hamber Auto-Foam or CarPro Lift. I have demonstrated their cleaning properties here: th-cam.com/video/8j5dJUM8Fb4/w-d-xo.html
Hi Pan! A little off topic but are you a fan of using the foam as the clay lubricant? Of course, clay would be used with 2nd application of foam. Appreciate you! Thank you.
I can't help but think that with some different nozzle and a possibility to adjust the air/water ratio the snowgun concept could achieve better result, what's your opinion on that Pan? BTW I always used distilled water in my snow canon, its supposed to make the foam a bit thicker
With a little DIY work you can attach an electric pump to the handpump to avoid having to spend more time pumping than spraying, like the oasser portable air compressor. There are also how-to's on YT.
There are pump sprayers that now come with a Schrader valve so you can use an air chuck and air compressor to fill them. Like this one: amzn.to/3Q6ycY7
Thanks for another great video, Pan I have a question, I've recently switched to turtle wax to the max wax and the pure shampoo. The wax gives beautiful results, after a week the car was lightly dusty and I gave the first wash, hydrophobics was the best I've ever seen on my car, however after washing, when I rinse it seems those hydrophobics have deteriated or changed. It did the same with the ultimate line of meguiar's, I put it down to the shampoo was not a pure shampoo and had waxes in it. Could this be normal? Or should hydrophobics last for the reasonable duration of a wax?
I prefer the Graphene Flex Wax in that range of products. It lasts a lot longer. But your question is hard to answer as I don't know what prep you did prior to applying your layer of Max Wax. The Turtle Wax Slick N Slide shampoo is a pure shampoo, it doesn't contain any protection in it. So it just cleans, which is what I prefer. I don't like protection infused shampoos as much.
Pan - not sure if I'm asking this right but, specifically for the pre-wash stage, how do you feel about a pre-soak with a rinseless wash type product using a pump-up sprayer rather than a car wash type product that you foam on?
A rinseless wash will be more for encapsulating loose dirt and adding lubrication before you pre-rinse the vehicle. A proper cleaning snow foam like Bilt Hamber Auto-Foam or CarPro Lift will actually start breaking down grime and traffic film, which a rinseless wash doesn't do.
It's a snow foam, so yes you can use it as a pre-wash. But it's a neutral shampoo, so won't do much cleaning. It's more for lifting loose dirt and adding lubrication. If you want a pre-wash with more cleaning power, go for something more alkaline like Bilt Hamber Auto-Foam or CarPro Lift.
Hey good day Pan, runny foam from (FoamGun )vs clingy foam from( foam cannon) Which shows more cleaner results after dwelling for 5minutes using same soap? Without pressure washing. I have both system but my pressure washer died. Not sure to get another pressure washer or just use my existing foam gun. Hope to get ur reply soon . Love ur channel

Thanks Pan. The other 'style' 'Foam Guns' work a bit better than the one you showed us here. My son and I use (when we don't use the Pressure Washer) what I will call the 'Gilmour Style' one with the black adjustment wheel on top. A little search and you will see knock offs and similar ones with just different brand stickers and or labeling. Nice Obsessed Garage Stainless Fittings on everything and good to go. We have had our for years now without issue.
MJJC V2 With Bilt Hamber Touchless and I sometimes add 100ml or 200ml of Bilt Hamber Surfex HD in the cannon also for an increased dirt and muck removal at the pre cleaning stage. When are you 2022 awards Pan? I'm looking forward to what you recommend this year! Will any of these products still wear the crown from last year of will there be any new comers to dethrone 2021 products?? 😁
Does anyone make one that works on compressed air? I figure it's basically the pump sprayer but uses compressed air instead of pumping. Or even a paint sprayer with a larger nozzle to make the foam
I haven't tested that new Active 2.0 pressure washer. But I know the first gen was pretty good for the price, and seeing Matt's videos on version 2.0, it will be hard to beat for its pricepoint. Is it better than a Kranzle? Absolutely not, but the Kranzle is three times the price hehe. But it's probably the best sub 500$ pressure washer on the market.
@@PanTheOrganizer thanks Pan. I trust your intuition and advice. I can hire a full time detailer for a couple of years with the price of the Kranzle power washer. The Greenworks Pro 2500 has a commercial pump that’s designed to last for 1,000 hrs. I think the sweet spot will be the Active 2.0 if you can keep it all under $425. Call me crazy but if I can get 5-7 years of very reliable use, it’s worth it IMO to have one
Good way of seeing things. Yeah bang for buck, the Active is near impossible to beat. Then, for someone with an even smaller budget, this would be my pick: bit.ly/32aiQ1j
Hey Pam since you're a biochemist? Is it possible to test the ceramic car Wash soaps for real ceramic material in there and if so how much per soap there's a lot of scams out there and us would like to buy legitimate ceramic car soaps and products because polymer can do the same effects and fool the customer
I haven't tested for the green bottle's real world durability. But what I hear from viewer feedback is 1 to 3 months on average, again depending on your conditions and maintenance.

It depends what connector your pressure washer has. Most foam cannons come with the traditional 1/4 inch quick connect type plug, so your pressure washer must be able to connect to it. Some pressure washers have proprietary connectors, like the K series from Karcher (K2, K3, K4, K5 & K7) so you need an adapter for those.

What's the foam gun you're using?

Your videos are spot on. I was using me leaf blower this morning to dry my car at 0600 (another video). I guess next time I need to make a pitcher of Tequila Sunrise Rises for the neighbors. Holy cow, my neighbors wash their cars with brushes you would use to clean cattle and the dry them with an 18-inch squeaky.
I would describe the foam from a pump foamer a "dryer" foam. It's not as uniform or thick, but it's a very very dry foam with less liquid.
Another great video. I use a pump sprayer for wheels when I do them separately, but a foam cannon for pre-washes. I've had success with replacing the stock orifice with
a 1.1 mm Foam Cannon Orifice -- the smaller opening produces a thicker foam. Only a few US dollars from Amazon.
Ive got a griotts gun I picked up at auto zone. I pair it with meguiars gold class. Good enough for my 2007 highlander

It comes with everything you need to connect it to your garden hose. See what it comes with here: amzn.to/3NIcQlm
The foam fun does not look like it has a threaded garden hose fitting? Do I need to buy an adaptor of some sort?
I currently use the Adams premium foam GUN, I just got into the hobby and personally do enjoy how the foam gun adds some nice lubrication and pre soap before actually cleaning the vehicle. Personally wish I would've invested the money though to get the foam cannon and just a decent electric pressure washer because I personally am looking for more of that thick coated substance on the car I'm cleaning. Do I know why i want all that extra foam other than it looks a hell of a lot cooler when i clean it? no.
Also, could you recommend the pressure washers you're talking about for 150-200?? perfect price range im looking to spend.
This one: amzn.to/3oLvwDP
So you can buy it as just the pressure washer, or you can get a full kit with upgraded wands, guns, foam cannon, etc here: bit.ly/3wqtnC2
I guess I don't understand. I thought the whole point of snow foam is to stick better/longer therefore break down contamination better. But, you said the Adams Mega Foam is not meant to be a cleaning foam. So...what is it supposed to be used for?
Lubrication. See my videos about snow foams: th-cam.com/video/6K07y26I7Z4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KgDQ7pRH8tQ0jBWv
I wonder what the foam gun would look like if there was a fan spray mode?
something perhaps worth pointing out in the pro/con listings: cannon requires electric and water hook-ups, gun requires water-only hook up, and pump requires absolutely nothing but elbow grease. kind of a deciding factor for most- even you. you said you use cannon because you have the hook-ups (and machine). in other scenarios, pump is the only way to go. btw, I use a pump for wheel treatments; cannon for all else.

Sorry might be stupid question in the UK our hoses are different size is there a connection where I can use the foam gun to be used on our size pipes

And you can buy this foam gun: amzn.to/3zUpUO2
Or you can buy a foam gun that already comes with the adapter: amzn.to/3oPLjBr
If you want a larger style foamer, check this one out: bit.ly/3lBhsyb

Thanks Jimmy! The 2022 awards are coming out like every year, around the end of August or early September. :)
I made a video comparing different snow foams cleaning power here:
th-cam.com/video/8j5dJUM8Fb4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1SewfCb6R0Gg9wqF
th-cam.com/video/I7z8ajojRVI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7JlpedqkyP2rBtwM
Long story short, if you are just using a pH neutral snow foam, that won't do much for "cleaning".
I use both. Foam cannon first then foam gun as my bucket wash w microfiber pads. No two bucket much faster w the gun as the contact wash.
Should you pre-rinse the car down with just water before doing the foam and then do the wash after doing the foam?
It doesn’t really matter ultimately. I have a video on that here: th-cam.com/video/16SwGBQ29rs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pLqCEsBsjL1QIXbq
Hey Pan. Can u do a video about what happens when u wet or wash a new applied ceramic coating and what to do to fix it.
@@PanTheOrganizer I figured to perhaps do it on some sort of test panel. But I understand. Thanks
Hi Pan, how often do you use your water deioniser? All stages of the wash or just the final rinse? Just the final rinse and only when washing in the sun?
I don't have a system to switch from DI to regular water, so I always use DI.
Wow…. must cost you a fortune in resin!🙂
Yes there is a foam gun you can attach to your air compressor, here: amzn.to/3zlm3YH

There are many factors that influence the quantity, thickness and richness of snow foam:
1. Type of foam cannon (smaller orifices lead to thicker foam, but can potentially trip your circuit breaker depending on your setup)
2. Type of pressure washer (a higher amount of GPM water output leads to more foam, so a pressure washer with 1.3 GPM will produce less foam than one that pumps out 2.1 GPM)
3. Type of snow foam (not all snow foams produce the same amount of foam)
Thanks Hayward!
I'm thinking, I have a compressor and garden hose. Some way to combine the both?
Not to my knowledge.
Would have liked to see the Tornador foam gun which uses only compressed air for comparison.
Hi! What type of power strip is that on your workbench? Is it part of the bench set or aftermarket? I can’t find a safe power strip for the same type of setup.
It came with my work bench.
You're a damn mind-reader. Exactly the video I needed to see. Pan is the best!
Heheh thanks Pete!
Foam cannon all day for foaming the car for me... Only time I use pump foamers is when I want to be precise and save some product, usually between the doors and fenders etc + when washing rims after a wheel change.
I still do not understand why they use metal threads with a plastic bottle, the Stihl I use is plastic on plastic with a big opening to not have a hassle with filling the bottle 🤔
How thick do you want the foam to be Pan?
@@PanTheOrganizer ah okay, so is it safe to assume that for PH neutral Foam (for PPF coated cars), foam gun vs cannon will clean almost the same way?
More or less yes. Keep in mind it’s the contact wash (after the snow foam) that will get the car 100% clean.
The pre-wash with snow foam and foam cannon is there to get the majority of the loose dirt and debris off the car, before the contact wash.
Hi pan the foam cannon is definitely the best way to go do you happen to know what the orifice size was in the adams 1.25 or 1.1 I have a couple of cannons and use the 1.1 for a smaller pressure washer thanks 😊
They don't mention the orifice size on their website. But their premium foam cannon comes with a 1.25mm orifice. This one: amzn.to/3PPmXDT
Hi Steven. If you prefer spray on, rinse off maintenance products, here are my favourites:
bit.ly/3PoZSXv
bit.ly/3SUG7dy
bit.ly/3JXQvwN
All three can be used on all the exterior parts: paint, glass, wheels, plastics, headlights, tail lights, etc.
Thanks Lisa.
I need some advice on foam Cannon for Bosch Easy Aquatak 100 with a 360 degree nozzle. Will it be compatible with any Foam Cannon?
I don't know that pressure washer. You have to see if it has a standard 1/4 inch quick connect type connections.
What pressure washer psi do you recommend for starter?
Watch my car wash beginner’s kit video: th-cam.com/video/HMJLfwZcfSs/w-d-xo.html
Those measuring cups look like the pour easily into the foam cannon. Where are those from?
I bought them from AutoGeek over a decade ago. They aren't available anymore unfortunately.
Sir, what is the best psi or bar pressure washer you recommend for getting good foam from a foam Cannon ?
Where do you get the small mixing measuring cups? I have looked on Amazon, but I cannot find ones that are 2 oz.
I got it from AutoGeek over a decade ago, but it's not available anymore.
Do you have a video reviewing pressure washers?
Yes here: th-cam.com/video/_UwK_0VDK0o/w-d-xo.html
Pan I love Porsches, owned one for 11 years, they drive like no other cars.
The Turbo is an awesome car, but my friend it's an automatic.😫
My advice, trade it in on a manual GT3 Touring edition.
Cheers!
@@PanTheOrganizer
No doubt Pan, I've test drove a Turbo S and the acceleration is so strong with launch control, it can give you a head rush.
Thanks.
Enjoy.
See how I do a new car prep in this video: th-cam.com/video/t7HCBSVnizM/w-d-xo.html
Thank you!!
I already have my popular car wash tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/7Koj5j2Es5U/w-d-xo.html
@@PanTheOrganizer thanks!!
I like to use my foam cannon when I can but I do not have a garage so the pressure washer stays in the basement and hauling that out is time consuming so a portable foam gun is helpful I think both have a time and place
That gardenhose "foam gun" produces less foam than a wrung out sponge. That was pathetic.👎
Obviously, a foam cannon on a pressure washer is still the way to go.👍👍
Thanks, Pan. Good job.
Thanks!
Looking forward to a video of you and Matt Moreman at Destination OG. Two of my favorites!
That would be cool !!
Pan what about the efficiency
Hey Pan: how about one of those battery powered pumps prayers? THANKS!!

What if you use adams mega foam and put a better cleaning shampoo in the cannon with it. So it foams great and cleans
Hey, where are those detail guardz when you need them for the foam gun hose? 🤪
Hi Pan! A little off topic but are you a fan of using the foam as the clay lubricant? Of course, clay would be used with 2nd application of foam. Appreciate you! Thank you.
No, I prefer using a dedicated clay lubricant for that task.
Hello Pan the Organizer. Will carpro lift remove carpro reload coated car? Thankyou
According to CarPro, no.
@@PanTheOrganizer thankyou
Hi Pan. Which leaf blower are you using to dry cars?
This one: bit.ly/3zqh6xD
And I made a video comparing all my three blowers here: th-cam.com/video/4up2Atg4ks0/w-d-xo.html
Would pumping the sprayer while spraying damage the sprayer at all?
No.
I can't help but think that with some different nozzle and a possibility to adjust the air/water ratio the snowgun concept could achieve better result, what's your opinion on that Pan? BTW I always used distilled water in my snow canon, its supposed to make the foam a bit thicker
I use deionized water as well. Yes DI water always produces more foam and suds compared to hard tap water.
I like to snow foam because its fun
With a little DIY work you can attach an electric pump to the handpump to avoid having to spend more time pumping than spraying, like the oasser portable air compressor.
There are also how-to's on YT.
There are pump sprayers that now come with a Schrader valve so you can use an air chuck and air compressor to fill them. Like this one: amzn.to/3Q6ycY7
i always get some inspirations from this channel, thanks Pan
Happy to hear that!
What Pressure washer do u recommend for Personal use; I'm not a small business. Just a car guy
1000 to 2000 psi is what we use to wash cars. It’s not recommended to go over 2000 psi
So can I use the Adam’s Mega foam as a pre wash solution ??
It's a snow foam, so yes you can use it as a pre-wash. But it's a neutral shampoo, so won't do much cleaning. It's more for lifting loose dirt and adding lubrication. If you want a pre-wash with more cleaning power, go for something more alkaline like Bilt Hamber Auto-Foam or CarPro Lift.
@@PanTheOrganizer 🙏 Thank you!

Hi Pan! Just wondering. When you use a foam gun can you just foam the car and wash with your MIT without the buckets or do you still use the buckets?
I always use buckets. The foam cannon is just a part of the pre-wash.
Thanks Pan. The other 'style' 'Foam Guns' work a bit better than the one you showed us here. My son and I use (when we don't use the Pressure Washer) what I will call the 'Gilmour Style' one with the black adjustment wheel on top. Is there a pump sprayer that isn’t manual but runs on lithium batteries?
Hi Cody. We are starting to see some battery operated sprayers and pump sprayers.
Sprayer bottle: amzn.to/3QYfLVX
Pump sprayer: amzn.to/3QYfW3z
MJJC V2 With Bilt Hamber Touchless and I sometimes add 100ml or 200ml of Bilt Hamber Surfex HD in the cannon also for an increased dirt and muck removal at the pre cleaning stage. The awards, like every year, should be towards the second half of August or beginning of September at the latest. :)
Does anyone make one that works on compressed air? I figure it's basically the pump sprayer but uses compressed air instead of pumping. Or even a paint sprayer with a larger nozzle to make the foam
Ik FoamPro2 Plus! Exactly what you're looking for
Yes, this one: amzn.to/3zexLUM
Foam cannon and pressure washer it is. Thanks Pan. Any thoughts if it’s worth investing in the new Active 2.0 pressure washer due out in a month?
Definitely, definitely I will stay with my Chemical Guys foam cannon, thank you Pan for another awesome video
Thanks Joe!

Nice video off topic question 🙋🏻♂️ how long does Meguires ceramic detailer last? Is it just for in between washes like a spray wax?

No. Rain water has minerals in it, and depending on where you live, other contaminants. Nothing beats deionized or reverse-osmosis water to wash cars.

Do foam canons work with all pressure washers?
It depends what connector your pressure washer has. Most foam cannons come with the traditional 1/4 inch quick connect type plug, so your pressure washer must be able to connect to it.
Some pressure washers have proprietary connectors, like the K series from Karcher (K2, K3, K4, K5 & K7) so you need an adapter for those.
