    I attended the Meguiars Detailing class for over 6 months and began using only Meguiars products up to 2012. I also began using some of the Mother's products. In 2023 I was reading about Turtle Wax products and never tried any Turtle Wax products until I saw Turtle Wax hybrid ceramic wash. I got hooked on this and still use it. It gives and fantastic shine. Later as it was not sold in auto part stores I had to order it thru Turtle Wax. But later on I got the urge to buy the Slick and slide. I no longer do detailing on customer vehicles as I turned 75 and it's a lot of work at my age, but I still do my family vehicles and only use the Turtle wax products. Keep up the great Info!!! Yanni

    Thanks Pan for featuring our new Auto Fanatic 007 Snowstorm Car Shampoo we spent years getting this soap to do exactly what I wanted. The self cleaning and multi stage foaming is key for maint touch less washes for dust, salt etc where I show the dirt in the run off in my wash videos. Another feature is our soap can be used in direct sun and hot humid climates which was factored into development. We do sell gallons and 5 gallons and 20 unit case packs through our store at a great value of almost half off retail to the mobile detailers and pro users, via Amazon we just offer the 16oz for ease of shipping to new users.

    Koch Chemie GSF is always my go-to for flexibility, simply because it’s a pH neutral snow foam off the shelf, but if you combine it with 30ml of Koch Chemie’s Green Star you turn it into an alkaline snow foam to really help cut through road crud and remove some coatings for a reset, and since I always have both products on me it saves me having to carry both a pH neutral and alkaline snow foam.

    • @PanTheOrganizer

      @@PanTheOrganizer Yeah man, and is also a third product to carry around, which I said using GSF and GS together saves me from having to do. One less SKU to carry, one less product to buy and take up space, and since I ALWAYS have GSF and GS on me AF is sort of pointless except to maybe save 30 seconds having to measure out 30ml of GS.

    Pan, Yet another great video, I use The Adams, Mega foam since it won first place in your last video, I always wait for the 25% sale... I actually called and asked the company a couple years ago about using it as a contact wash. They said it was exceptional as a contact wash.. Since then they have changed the description on their website to include that it can be used in a two bucket method.. I suspect that most of the snow foam behaved very similarly is that they are all blended by the same company B&B blenders. Especially Apex, DIY, Chemical, Armour, Auto fanatic. Adams.. I'll go out on a limb and say turtle wax and koch-chemie are probably blended in house.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah it's hard to know who blends these products. There are only a handful of third party big blenders like B&B Blending in the USA. Some companies have their own chemists though.
      I don't really care who blends, what I care about the most is the end result and if it delivers on performance and sometimes value if that's a criteria for some.

    Awesome video, Pan, thanks for sharing! I've been using the Adams Mega Foam for a couple years, it does provide really thick foam, even with the hard water I have. Because I have to wash my vehicles outside, I typically rinse first to cool the surface a bit first, then apply the snow foam. Only use an ounce or two in the foam cannon, and it provides the nice, bubblegum-scented thick foam that I like. I do find that there is a bit of residue left over when rinsing, I need to do a thorough rinse job in order to get rid of it all; could possibly be due to being outside when I use it. This is just my experience, others' mileage may vary.
    Once again, very informative and educational video, Pan, thanks again for sharing! Keep up the great work!

    Its funny. I really got into car detailing about 3 years ago. I have always taken pride in keeping my cars clean, but i was a hose, bucket, off the shelf car soap and like mothers or similar brand wax. After getting an Audi S3 in 2020 i dove into car detailing in a much more extensive way and at that time i was using a gas pressure washer with a "essential washer" foam cannon and felt like i had really stepped into the "big leagues" using Mr. Pink wash. I loved the scent and swore by the quality of the foam and the product. Fast forward to today and i have found that Mr. Pink is still good, but no longer is my preferred soap. GSF, Adams Ultra/mega foam and gyeon bathe have since become my products of choice. I just purchased some of the DIY detail incredible suds and i have found that i love to buy a different soap as often as possible just to try them out. Pan, i love your videos! Keep it up

    Paaaaaan the ORGANIZER! i cant get the intro out of my head. Anyway, from the video, it appeared that the GSF from Koch Chemie had a more even sheeting down the panel and rinsed evenly, but the DIY was close behind and seemed to rinse quick. The Armour also ran down well and as you said rinsed easy.
    Personally, i would rather have something that runs down and doesnt stick, so it brings the dirt down with it. So for me based on what i saw, it would be the GSF followed by the Armour, then the DIY.

    Great Show!
    I live in Northern California, which has Continental/Mediterranean climates, hot summers, and cool wet winters with vertical no snow. Vehicals are garaged, and I typically wash outside weekly with TurtleWax Pro Pure Wash Slick
    & Slide pH 8.3, or 3D Super Soap Concentrate pH 8.0. Very impressed with their versatility, lubricity, and foaming abilities. Only negative for 3D is it's consistency, pours like honey, making it a little difficult to pour and mix. Gotta use some warm water for sure in both the foamer, and bucket.
    SIDE NOTE:
    I currently have Adams Polish Graphene Ceramic Coatings (not the "Advanced" version) on my vehicles. Coatings are holding up pretty well after 2 plus years. This fall, I did notice that the beading was fading to decent sheeting. I wanted those dancing beads back, so I gave
    Carpro Descale, pH 6 a try. BAM, super tight beads! I will have to make Carpro Descale an annual fall activity along with a nice topper.

    I was wondering u didnt put Gyon or Carpro in the mix and i thought u are quite a fan. (Sure u can not compare all products or the video would be way too long).
    I use gyon and carpro mostly or Gravity.
    I like the gravity one for the weekly wash because it's very good and not expensive.
    Also just a hint in Europe we are not allowed to to wash the car at home due to regulations. So 99% of enthusiasts go to a carwash box. So we can not use a foam Canon. I for example use an IK pump former and and a SOLO pumpformer (btw best pumpformer) with an battery airpump so i dont have to pump manually. (Drilled a hole and put an air valve in).
    So long story short. It would be nice for the manufacturer to put a dilution Manual for pumpformer on the bottle aswell.
    I know u did once a video bout it snow foam in Pumpformer. (Like 2 years ago?)
    Anywho... Nice video.
    Also i wonder... If u put in to a foam canon regular car shampoo what would happen? I think it would foam up aswell.

    I think the combo of using their products, the performance, and the TH-cam videos that they produce - I have converted to DIY Detail. I have one car that has a CarPro a professional ceramic coating and use that line of products on it. All of my other cars are now DIY. I’m about to put on the “stack” this spring.

    I'm just looking a good value (high concentrate) foam that is completely safe on my ceramic coating but still cuts through the grime as good as a high alkaline foam

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can't get that. No pH neutral snow foam can cut through grime and road film like a higher alkaline snow foam. pH neutral for weekly washes and lubrication is all you need. Once in a while, for a deeper cleaning, removal of grime and traffic film, that's when you step up to a higher alkaline snow foam like Bilt Hamber Touch-Less or CarPro Lift. I use both on my ceramic coated car with no issues. Just don't use those on a weekly basis.

    As an enthusiast who’s only maintaining 2 cars, and being someone who likes to tinker, soap lasts a long time. The value play doesn’t really matter to me. DIY Detail is KILLER but I have to admit that the thickness is a bit annoying. Not a show stopper just less convenient. ADS is next up. Heard great things.

    I am not a car fanatic, but I keep my car pretty clean. Using my power washer and foam gun makes washing the car fun! But I am not a car detailing expert in the least. My criteria for a good car shampoo is three-fold: 1. Medium to thick foam 2. Won't strip my wax off 3. Leaves a nice shine on the car. I foam up the car, wipe it, rinse and dry it. No 2nd wash. Since all of the products seem to foam well, can you comment on which leaves the best shine?

  • @ribaljamal564
    @ribaljamal564 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think a decently thick foam is what you’d want to really sit and soften the dirt and grime, I find runny foam doesn’t really do much except quickly take the loose dirt down, where thicker can really penetrate that layer of grime much better

    The only one that I've used from your test is the MegaFoam. It's the best pH neutral snow foam that I've used (e.g. CG Honeydoo and Adam's Regular Shampoo).
    Pros:
    * shaving cream foam with a 1.1 orifice, 1.2 gpm pressure washer, and TriNova foam cannon. Upgraded to a 2.0 gpm pressure washer and switched to 1.25 orifice in the TriNova and it's even thicker.
    * It's thin pouring out of bottle so really easy to mix with water in the foam cannon
    * Still thick foam even when I added something alkaline to it such as 6 oz of Purple Power Heavy-Duty Vehicle and Boat Concentrate.
    Cons:
    * I found it to be sticky in the rinse phase when my truck was protected with a ceramic sealant and had a monthly ceramic detailer topper. I've recently ceramic coated my truck, but haven't used the MegaFoam on it.

I had a jug of CG Mr. Pink, finally used it all up, and confirm can be used in a foam canon. I agree with you, it is a mediocre product; lubrication and cleaning properties are not very good. Yo Pan, One of your best videos where you simplified the process....1 once for everyone and let's see the results. Companies and/or manufacturers will need to give serious attention to such details and simplicity as the industry moves progressively forward. I have used and still use the Turtle Wax as for the cost, the impact of contact wash and outcome remain my priorities. I want to give DIY suds a try and just ordered it. As a suggestion, I believe you should consider including additional suppliers to your links such as stores in Ontario, Quebec and even the Maritimes so that shipping cost and shipping time are possibly reduced for your subscribers and our clients. Keep up the good work, appreciate your expertise, insights and recommendations!! Regards, Edmond Martin

      He covered high PH soaps in first 5 minutes. This video is about ph neutral soaps that are used weekly mainly for lubrication on a contact wash and don’t degrade your coating/sealant/wax. BH would come in last place in this video and if you use it weekly you are crazy.

      @PanTheOrganizer  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      You seem to have skipped through the video, as I clearly spoke about this at the very beginning (first two minutes). This video focuses on the pH neutral, weekly wash type snow foams. The Bilt Hamber is a part of the higher pH snow foams that have higher cleaning potential, and that would be for another video. ;)
      I am very thorough in my explanations in my videos, so please consider listening from beginning all the way until the end. I usually answer all the questions people might have.
      But yes, Bilt Hamber Touch-Less is the best snow foam for pre-wash cleaning I have ever tested. It took home first place for my favourite snow foam of the year in my latest car detailing products awards video. I have used it in many videos.

      BH Touch-Less is the best pre-wash snow foam I have ever tested, and that's why it took first place in my yearly awards video for best snow foam. But it's a higher pH, and this video was only pH neutral. ;)
      But even with the best pre-wash snow foam, you must ALWAYS follow up with a manual contact wash with a bucket and soap, as that is what really revives coatings and removes 100% of the remaining dirt.
      Snow foams are just meant to remove a bulk of the loose dirt, debris, and grit, and start softening the grime and road film. That's 80% of the job. In an effort to reduce marring the paint during the remaining 20% of the job which is the contact wash. :)

I had to finished that one. I also used Mega Foam for maintenance pre-wash. With GSF I'm shooting the car of a nice blanket of foam & do the contact wash without rinsing it. Good results and good lubrification. For the coated car I'm using CarPro Lift (every month) and Reset afterward. Thanks again and keep on the good work!!!

    I am newer to "detailing" my vehicles. Silly question, after you foam do you handwash that foam with a mitt or do you simply spray it off and that is your wash?
    While I want to keep my vehicles clean, I don't want to spend my entire weekend washing my vehicles and not spending time with my family. Thanks!

      The snow foam is part of the pre-wash. You foam, let it dwell, and then rinse off. And then you can either re-foam and contact wash, or go straight to the hand wash. You always have to finish with a hand wash, it's the only way to get 100% clean results.

    What about if you have to use it under the sun because you have no choice. Then which one would you pick? Also if you have to use a garden house and bucket? No pressure washer.

    Love the hybrid stuff , for the price and what it does you can't go wrong with them. I just started using the pure wash soap with a bit of apc for a pre wash and I really like it . Also use inside job for Interior love it. Staples in my business

    I was a bit surprised when you mentioned the Adams should be used more as a prewash. I’ve been using it for my two bucket method. Nonetheless, always great to hear your expert perspective as I’m just a consumer

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I actually asked Chris Gallahar, the main chemist at B&B which blends Adam's products, and here's his response:
      "Adam’s Mega Foam is designed and intended to be aerated - so used via a Foam Cannon with a Pressure Washer or a Foam Gun with a standard Garden Hose. It basically requires that aeration from the Foam Cannon/Gun, and some pressure, to really get the ‘oomph’ out of the foaming. The Adam’s Mega Foam was launched primarily due to its intended usage with those other tools as a companion product, so it should be used as such. If you’re going with a bucket wash, I’d suggest reaching for any of the other formulas.
      Will it work in a bucket wash? Technically, yes, but nothing miraculous. It would look paltry compared to any of the other shampoos, which are more designed around any of a 2-bucket wash or a foam cannon/gun because they’re using more standard, primary and secondary surfactant systems, whereas Adam’s Mega Foam is actually quite unique in its composition."
      I hope this helps.

      @@PanTheOrganizer this definitely helps. My understanding of prewash might be the issue. I thought prewash was the foaming of the car using the foam cannon then rinsing, just to get the initial dirt off the car. I apply foam again to the car prior to doing the contact wash using the two bucket method. From my understanding the Koch chemie gentle snow foam was a good pre wash when used in a foam cannon. I’ve been using Adams megafoam is my foam cannon and in the buckets.
      With your suggestion I should keep the Adams for the foam cannon and add another product in the buckets for a contact wash, which I’ll look to do!

    The TW slick and slide is amazing shampoo. Foam cannon it kills it, 1.5 oz in my liter size cannon bottle produces shave cream like foam and I can use a decontamination towel with it. It rinses so easy. Don’t wear flip flops on finished concrete surfaces or you will bust your butt, its that slick. My new favorite. Thanks

    I think years ago, the difference between average and great products was miles wide. I remember using the cheapest wax possible on cars because there was no TH-cam, no podcasts, nothing. You just saw some old tin of wax in the garage and when that was gone, you went and got another one for $1.49. It might have given you a decent finish for a month or two, but that's all anyone expected it to last.
    Now, the most pedestrian product in stores gives you better results than some of the most expensive products from 20 years ago. In terms of visual performance, other than thickness of the foam, I just don't see a whole lot of difference in any of these. It looks basically like a commodity product, these foams in the video anyway. They all look quite outstanding, and in light of the commodification of these, would just get the most cost effective foam.
    I don't think you're *only* paying for marketing, because the chemistry will matter, but marketing costs will bake into the end product cost more than just about anything else. If you're doing paid work, not DIY work, a customer with a $100,000+ car will expect some degree of exclusivity in products. I don't expect that client to be satisfied knowing you used turtlewax. But if nobody is watching, I suspect the more value foam will work just fine. And if you're doing paid work, you could always buy the expensive stuff and just refill the bottle with cheaper stuff, like a budget cruise ship bar.
    My cynicism about Chemical Guys is that the explosion of the product line is deliberate to crowd shelf space out at stores. It's sold at Walmart. And when you have 40 different SKUs to stock, it will just be a wall of Chemical Guys stuff, so everywhere you look, all you see is Chemical Guys. It's like how Bud Light comes in 6 pack bottles, 6 pack cans, 12 pack bottles and cans, 15 pack, 18 pack, 24 pack, etc...all the same beer, but the objective is to crowd out competitors.

      You made good points here. I agree, products are CONSIDERABLY better than they were even 5-6 years ago. The competition is so high, that we as consumers benefit as brands have to make sure to keep pushing product innovation and quality to new heights if they want to earn our hard earned dollars.

    Another informative vlog, I did enjoy your your experiment of neutral pH vs high pH. It showed the cleaning power of the higher pH snow foam. Perhaps you might consider an experiment test of various neutral pH snow foam soap and the cleaning power of each on a dirty vehicle. I did appreciate you mentioning your top three in this video as far as lubricating when hand washing from a bucket.

      I made a video of the 15 best pH neutral soaps here: th-cam.com/video/kWSQSpD0Rww/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZdjmVTgvG9EdMvGP
      Once a good pre-wash is made, a pH neutral soap is usually all you'll need. Once in a while, you can use an acidic shampoo to remove limescale and mineral buildup and water spots (like CarPro Descale or Labocosmetica Purifica).

Ya know to help with removal of light dirt, and then possible come back with a brush. I know simple green makes a few outdoor cleaners. Any thoughts?
