Man, I've been absolutely struggling with this problem lately; it's as if my iron striking got worse all of a sudden. Going to focus on the grip and give these tips a go!
Great explanation Alex. I suffered with this the last time i played. I was almost too scared to attack the ball as it was reasonably soft bare ground. This video will definitely help👏👏
This is my nightmare! I've been finding fairways a lot better but my iron play from 150 on in has been fatting. I do have a tendency to grip irons in my palm. Going to give this a go!
I am beside myself. I know what I’m supposed to do but I hit the ball off the turf like garbage. I can hit a few good tee shots but I can hit anything right off the damn turf.

Nope. Bottom was ahead of the ball for me. As I became more comfortable with the swing, I would try to get more power by pushing up more, but that would cause me to bend my knees more. This caused me to get too low. Very hard habit to get rid of. I will try the grip change though. Chris Ryan says the same thing about the grip.
I pay much attention to keeping a lighter pressure in my grip, especially the right hand, AND my left thumb well under the club grip on the backswing to avoid holding it in the meat of my left hand.
At times I’ve been hitting my mid irons ( don’t use any iron over a 6) fat. A friend told me to address the ball as usual, but aim to hit the ball 2-3 inches in front of the ball in order to make flush contact without hitting the shot fat. What is your take on this advise?
Your lessons are great but there messing my head up, I was an 8 had two years off and I can’t hit a thing , how do I practice . The driving range kills me
I’m not gonna lie I came here cuz I was struggling with fatting my long irons and I switched my grip to deeper in my palms (the opposite of what they tell you and I was pure
Hmmmmm The counter argument here is if your trail hand (is on the golf club) the motion you demontrate throwing the club (usig the left hand only) is almost impossible to do by accident...Please Argue
Immediate results, took this right out to the range and was very happy, thanks for the reminder
Tried this today out on the course. To my amazement I hit my irons the best I've done for a long time. Great tip, just hope I can keep it going.....
no way! so good to hear
OMG i think you have just saved my golf game (and possibly life!!! 😂). This problem has driven me to near insanity for 20 years.
Extremely happy I watched this

Such a great tuition.
Good work buddy keep it up.
Awesome tip. Seem to have much better control of the club face gripping the club more in the fingers :)
Great one Alex. Thank you. I’ve got a smash bag on order as retail shops are still closed in Melbourne due to Covid.
I'm praying for an end to your tyranny in Australia and around the world.
I like this analogy - always struggled a bit working out if my grip is correct - this pretty much answers it. EZ

Not a secret any more, BUT a new method to grip the club that I haven’t seen before. Smart!

Love the tip
I am an overlapper rather than an interlocker and have been for 40 years. Would you suggest changing after all that time?
It’s hard, maybe just give it a go and see how you feel??

They say you learn something new every day, and I realized I’ve always had a bit of a palmy left hand.
