Thanks mate, no I haven't been on any tours yet but I did enter the Frank Boswell Trophy last year where I took it out 5 and 4.
My marker had to give me 18 shots though.

So, I have only played for the last 4 years, I started a little late, I’m 80 and really enjoying the game.
needless to say I have been hitting the ball all over the place. I’ve watched and tried to find some simple approach to just hit the ball correctly and in the right direction.
I found you on the internet mixed in with all the other golf advisers about 2 weeks ago.
Yesterday I played the best round ever, finally broke 90, shot a 87 and had so many great shots ( for me ) I was just so happy and thankful that I found you.
Your approach and demeanor is spot on.
    Thanks for the tips.
    Charlie

That's amazing mate, and very inspiring: starting golf at 76! I turned 70 recently, and although I started golf when I was 35, I dropped it for a number of years and now feel like a complete beginner again (almost)! 87 is awesome, no way I could play to my former h/cap at the moment (16-18), you're doing well! Be interested to see how you progress... Best wishes from Perth, Australia 🏌🏾‍♂🦘

I also often have the problem of hitting the ground first, then the ball. This often happens when I'm focused on the ball, but if I aim my gaze 2 inches from the ball I hit the ball much better, but I'd rather be able to see the ball and still hit well than aiming for a point that's 2 inches from the ball another factor for that is of course my early release.

Great information for the normal player. As disabled golfer that plays from a seated position and has limited hip rotation some of these ideas are more difficult. Any thoughts for a player that uses a SoloRider golf cart when playing? thanks glen

In your case you will need to place the ball position further back in your stance and also rely more on wrist bends

  • @NFiltr8Red

Club lag is key too. There are so many variables that it would take years for the normal person to master this. I’ve only started since February but I’m close to breaking Par. I’ve fished all my life and it has helped me immensely due to knowing your Swing strength. You can use 4 / 6 / 8 / Approach wedge and tilt angles to compensate for the missing clubs. That’s all I use.

With your videos I notice that you don't talk about twisting the hips. Is that because shifting your weight and turning correctly is a bi product and the turning happen more naturally or do you still force the hips to turn. In otherworldly, I don't see a violent turn of the hips! Great lessons!
