  • In this video I will be installing Rallyarmor Mudflaps on my Volvo C30 R-Design. Volvo never made mudflaps for the R-design, so that means we'll have to do it ourselves.
As always, feel free to leave any questions you might have down in the comments.
    Car:
It's a 2012 Volvo C30 R-Design D4 finished in cosmic white paint. As for mods I have done:
Blacked out headlights with Halo LED DRLs. (Inspired by @emilyshields3667 's C30)
Rhinolip front splitter/front guard, whatever you want to call it.
    JR-Wheels SL01 18x8 +40
Goodyear Eagle F1 supersport tires 225/40/18
Lazer front led bar (behind the lower front grille)
    Aftermarket R-Design grille emblem
Foliatec GT blue(polestar blue) brake callipers
    Plasti-dipped front grille
M-Tec discs (C-hook front and grooved rear) and Brembo Xtra pads.
    Rallyarmor universal Mudflaps
Camera: Sony A6400 and Gopro hero 6 black
    Lens: Tamron 17-70mm f2.8
Editing software: Davinci Resolve 18 and Luminar Neo

I am not the first one to use Rallyarmor flaps on the C30s, I originally got the idea from Michael Hallock over at @MyNameIdeasWereTaken who fitted these to the rear of his magnificent AWD swapped C30.

Thanks :) I used separate audio recording for this one, so not being outside improves the audio a lot.

super awesome!! i love the look of mudflaps on that kind of car it gives it more of a tough look in my opinion. also i recently bought an 8th gen honda civic and i want to modify it a bit without spending a ton of money on it, do you have any recomendations for i guess beginner mods on a budget? Great video as always keep it up!

Yeah, I actually like the look with the flaps, especially once I move over to my winter wheels which are smaller and much narrower. Cool, is it a hatchback or a sedan? My go to mods are generally Tires (with or without new wheels), suspension (lowering springs for a budget, or coilovers for something more serious), a stage 1 conservative remap if it has a turbo, followed by things like upgraded sway bars, exhaust, engine parts and so on. But all of this can be quite costly. the first thing I would think about is wheels and tires. A good set of tires can completely transform almost any car. A civic is also great for tire cost, as you can probably get a good set of tires for around $400-$500 depending on where you are from. You can just keep original rims, or you can buy a set of wheels second hand for a reasonable price. I recently got "new" winter rims for mine. original 17" rims in decent condition for equivalent to $150. You can also keep your original wheels and DIY plasti dip them a new colour for relatively cheap, as in as low as $60 depending on where you live. I literally ordered plasti dip for my winter wheels today, and will probably make a video on doing just that. There are good options for budget lowering springs, just don't get some super cheap ones, there are plenty of reputable brands out there. Though installing them will require some mechanical knowledge and tools. If you want more cosmetic things you can probably get a wide variety of splitters, lips, spoilers and side skirts, since the civic is such a popular car.

@VinnesAuto thanks so much! I'll look into some tires and rims right now i have the stock steel rims with hubcaps 😂 i might just get some cooler hubcaps for now until i can afford a good set of rims. it doesnt have a turbo its a 2006 lx coupe completely stock so its nothing crazy not to fast or anything but its my first car and its a manual so i can't complain. i probably wont lower because i live in michigan and i dont really want to sacrifice the little ground clearence i already have mainly for driving in the winter because we can get quite a lot of snow i just dont want to get stuck. eventually i hope to have two cars so i can lower one and just make it crazy for the summer and keep the other one a little more practical for the winter. i'll also have to look for some splitters or spoilers those would be sick! it does have a bit of an issue with the clearcoat mainly on the roof and hood its all peeling off pretty badly but again its my first car and i bought it for dirt dirt cheap and other than the clearcoat its pretty nice. thanks for the response this is super helpful!!!

Hey dude are you on any other socials? I was wondering if you could send some photos of the fitted mud guards with some measurement? How much you have them sticking out and how low is the guard from the bottom of the trim.

Hi, I see that you have default DRL and also "halo" .. are they both active during the day or how it goes? (I didn't put halo on mine but gave it a thought)

    • @VinnesAuto
      @VinnesAuto  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

This being a 2012 model, it does indeed have the LED DRL for the foglamps. the halos are wired into the park-light, so no, they are not on when the DRL are on. I can have either foglamps or halos, not both. On my previous 2010, I could turn on the foglamps and run with the halos by putting the switch to the park-lights. This one has no manual control for the foglamps(DRL), all automatic.

La VOLVO avrebbe dovuto predisporre la macchina per questo tipo di operazione senza fare ulteriori buchi da nessuna parte

You *can* install them with just the two screws that hold on the inner fender liner, but then it might flap around abit.

That would be a matter of perspective, I'm guessing you're not familiar with harsh winter climates, where they really do help keep some of the salt off the car.
