  • Previous experience: Sim racing, and 3 laps IRL before this one. This video is my 4th and final lap of my stay.
    Any cuts or changes in the video is because of the weird way that Garmin Dash cams record video. The Gopro in the corner is a continuous recording.
    This car is just so so so so so more so good! So predictable, so stable, enough power to make it exciting and just an amazing experience on the track! (Totally not a biased opinion if you know my channel). This was probably the best experience of my entire life (not that I have one) and I can not recommend more to anyone who likes cars to get on a track, and just drive!
    The Nordschleife was such an experience in itself, yes I have driven it on my PC, and I was able to think what type of corner is up next, but what you don't get in sim racing, is that elevation change, that was probably the biggest difference. Already on the main straight I was like " wooow this is different".
    Car:
    It's a 2012 Volvo C30 R-Design D4 finished in cosmic white paint. As for mods I have done:
    -Blacked out headlights with Halo LED DRLs. (Inspired by @emilyshields3667 's C30)
    -Rhinolip front splitter/front guard, whatever you want to call it.
    -JR-Wheels SL01 18x8 +40
    -Goodyear Eagle F1 supersport tires 225/40/18
    -Lazer front led bar (behind the lower front grille)
    -Aftermarket R-Design grille emblem
    -Foliatec GT blue(polestar blue) brake callipers
    -Plasti-dipped front grille
    -M-Tec discs (C-hook front and grooved rear) and Brembo Xtra pads.
    -Eibach lowering springs (30-35mm drop)
    Camera: Gopro hero 6 black, Garmin Dash Cam
    Editing software: Davinci Resolve 18 and Luminar Neo

    what an awesome watch! so cool to see the car corner under heavy load and opposite load on higher speed corners, where i am from (california), the driving roads are too narrow and windy to get the car over 70mph. you're one hell of a composed driver as well! cheers mate

      Thanks! Yeah the car was very stable and predictable, which gave me the confidence to push it on the parts of the track I could remember.

      haha thanks! It was! Driving on track, and that track being Nürburgring, was just the most awesome experience ever! Total of like 3200-3300 km driving to get there and back, but sooo worth it! And the car was amazing too!

    Wow what a video, mad respect, you're driving skills are amazing. You could easily match the pace of the more powerful BMW in front of you :)
    Glad you enjoyed your trip to the Ring. Once I got my own car, I will probably do this as well :)

      Haha thanks :D To be fair, that was the Apex BMW M2 rental, so it's not like it was a very experienced driver, but it was still cool keeping up to it! But the C30 was just so amazing also! My main focus was still to just have fun, and let faster cars past since I'm not that experienced of a driver. Unfortunately we found out that Misha had his 25h race in Italy exactly when I was in Nurburg, but we'll try to make it happen if(when) I come back :)

      @@VinnesAuto Yeah you could tell that he wasn't very experienced. But that's still very impressive, since power is always very hard to beat :)
      Yeah the C30 did incredible, what tires do you have? I'm sure the Cup2(R)s aren't available, but a good track tire makes a huge difference. Shame Misha wasn't there but I'm sure you will be back :D

    • @VinnesAuto
      @VinnesAuto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, tires are super important, so I have Goodyear eagle f1 supersport tires. They are Goodyear's answer to the Michelin ps4s, only with a more sporty feel, better dry grip, and abit worse wet grip, but still perfectly fine in the wet.

    Awesome, needs some exhaust in my opinion

    • @VinnesAuto
      @VinnesAuto  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm thinking exactly the same. But I don't want to remove the DPF for Legal reasons, and because I don't like soot. There aren't really any bolt on options that I have seen, but I think a T5 exhaust will fit with small modifications.

      @@VinnesAuto I did a center resonator delete on my 2.4i r-design and it sounded throatier but only from outside the cabin, which wasn't what I was going for, I don't know about you but I'd go for a high flow cat-back exhaust setup when I have the money. Both the stock muffler and resonators do a lot of silencing in the c30, it doesn't do the 5 cylinder sound any justice.

    • @VinnesAuto
      @VinnesAuto  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@haziyo Yeah, I was thinking a cat(DPF) back system with one or two high flow silencers, since I don't want it to be obnoxious either, I just want to unlock that 5 cylinder sound.

    • @VinnesAuto
      @VinnesAuto  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I used the stock size for the D4 which is 300mm front and 280mm rear. I have Mtec discs with bremo Xtra pads.

  • @waltervila33
    @waltervila33 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Are you running 18 by 8.5 wheels with +40 offset? And if so do you have a big brake kit

    • @VinnesAuto
      @VinnesAuto  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm running 18x8 with +40 offset. I'm on stock brake size, but my c30 had the 300mm option from factory instead of the 278mm that many came with. I'm also on mtec slotted discs and Brembo Xtra pads.

      @@VinnesAuto do they fit flush with the wheel arches?

    • @VinnesAuto
      @VinnesAuto  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They are completely flushed on the front, and tucking in just a bit on the rear. But the rear does actually have alot of camber from factory, so they still look pretty good in the rear.

    • @waltervila33
      @waltervila33 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@VinnesAuto thanks very much for your answer I bought my rims with a +38 offset and was wondering if there was going to be a difference since is only 2 millimeters and want a flush fitment with no rubbing

    • @VinnesAuto
      @VinnesAuto  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you bought 18x8 +38, it might fit without poke in the front. If you got 18x8.5 +38 they will poke out unless you run more camber.

      When I was at the nürburgring, I had: -JR-Wheels SL01 18x8 +40
      -Goodyear Eagle F1 supersport tires 225/40/18
      -M-Tec discs (C-hook front and grooved rear) and Brembo Xtra pads.
      -Eibach lowering springs (30-35mm drop)
      I have since installed a Hardrace rear adjustable sway bar.

      Yeah, the PCP is basically my dream car. If you get the C30 T5, you can get the power numbers of the PCP with extensive upgrading, but it's not exactly easy. And you still won't get the carbon and exterior styling, not to mention the AWD of the PCP, but the AWD can be swapped over from a v50 or s40.

    I think this engine is better that the anemic D5 in this car

    • @VinnesAuto
      @VinnesAuto  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It is a better on fuel, but it's pretty much the same engine with a lower displacement, so it is just as heavy but with less potential. But still a great engine, you can't beat 5 cylinders in my opinion.
