I have some questions about the car if you don't mind. I have a C30 1.6D myself actually, and just upgraded to a D4 which is amazing. I'm guessing it is the "1.6D" and not the "D2" since he says it is a 5 speed gearbox. My 1.6D is remapped with a stage 1, and pushing 139 hp and 300nm of toque. These engines are derived from Peugeot, and the non-turbo version is 75 hp. Have you installed a bigger turbo? Because there is no way in any way that you have 170hp from a 1.6D on the stock turbo even with dpf delete and what else, unless your tuning company just lied to you about the numbers. As said, my BSR remap is 139hp and 300nm, this is pretty much as far as the stock turbo goes. Also, did you get a rear bumper from a 5-cyl car? Because the 1.6D of course only comes with one exhaust exit in the bumper. Nice to see someone else appreciating these amazing cars :)
@@Sam-fz9wf ah, ok, I guess it makes sense then. That's quite impressive, my new D4 has 177hp, so that's almost the same from a 1.6 4 cyl! (At least till I do a stage one on it.) I wouldn't recommend a first time driver to have a car with a remapped engine and risk higher insurance premiums and greater wear and tear on existing components. It always drove okay, if a little rocky on uneven roads. An okay car, but not a patch on my old Mk4 Golf tdi 130, that had 234,000 on the clock and its original turbo/gearbox before being written off by another road user. Apparently the C30 2.0 diesel is more reliable than the more eco-friendly 1.6drive, that has known issues.
Love these. But... There's a fair bit of "not great" advice here, for my money. For starters, the 1.6D (16v - 5 speed manual) was the one to avoid - high running costs thanks to DPF being designed to be replaced (at hefty cost) every 75k... And they'd need it sooner if Eolys wasnt topped up ok between - especially run on lots of short trips. The D2 was less horrible to run, but the 5 cylinder diesels were always far nicer to own - much better drive (no remap required), sounded great (no mods required)... Second... Theres no way you'd get +60bhp with a remap on one of these 1.6D units without more mods... And I'd be surprised if its road legal too (ie: hasnt had dpf mapped out) though I could be wrong. Beyond that, mostly pretty spot on... Though for my money, I'd take SE Lux over R-Design every day of the week - the harder suspension on R-Des didnt improve handling much but cost comfort... That garbage peugeot engine must have blown up not long after as it ran out of MOT 3 months after this video😂😂😂
worst volvo ever..
Sound system no upgrades possible, everything is wired but if you want to instaal CC or a Hitch , you have to pay A LOT just for switching a bit in the software, bad headlightning, no sore possibileties in the doors.... no more volvo for me
Don’t blame your 200k sound system and second why would you try to put a hitch on this like what. Crazy my 2008 headlights be perfect and my sound system bumps
Black wheels look utter shit
Because its ugly?
Just bought the 2010 2.0 powershift today 107.000 km lets see 🫡
you must be joking if that 1.6 D2 with DPF(109bhp stock) c30 is anywhere near 170bhp on a stage 1 remap if it was a D3/D4 then yes you are talking 2.0ltr 5 cylinder engines but not a D2 peugeot engine 4cylinder that cant pull the skin off a rice pudding, ive owned a 2.0D c30 prefacelift 140bhp Non DPF from stock and when it was remapped it was only just 176bhp on stage 1 remap running a ford 4cylinder engine, dual exit straight through custom exhaust, ramair airfilter...... i can tell this kid that owns it is a beginner to driving with bullsh*t fake figure they all lie about haha. yet now i own a v60 polestar blue D4 twin turbo 190bhp but when remapped itll be around 240Bhp
Agree, this will see 150bhp max on a stage 1 map.
@@neilpaice54 true even with the DPF & EGR delete its most would be around 155-158bhp at a push but with the errors & limp mode as many on the volvo c30 fb groups have done the same and ended up with errors/limp mode after DPF & EGR delete with remap then a week later they have sold on the car due to the issues
D2 = 1.6 8v 112BHP Peugeot engine 1.6D = 1.6 16v 110BHP Peugeot engine
@@oculusdrifter9261 yup, the 1.6 I dire. The 2.0d is better, not great better but better. The D5 is the one you want in manual. That’s the best… unless you want petrol of course. Love these little cars, I think they look great. If I was not an old fat man lol I would have one…. But not this one.
@@neilpaice54 ive own a Volvo S40 55plate 2.0D, XC90 2.4 D5 06plate, V50 2.0Drive 08plate, C30 2.0D 09plate and now this V60 2014 D4 2.0 twin turbo 190bhp engine from a v40 16plate had a play with a audi rs4 estate today on b-roads but he was driving rather dangerous at 90mph so i held back abit. he couldnt shake me tho as Torque beats BHP anyday
I buy one 2013 model
In greece e drive edition for 10.000€ 200.000. kilometers on speedometer before 1 month its not cheap here
Nothing wrong with the front but the rear is ugly as hell.
