  • Motivation is fleeting, but discipline is a choice. Also, building habits helps increase the likelihood of motivation by making it easier and more of a “default setting.”

    I watch your fasting videos (among others) for continued motivation on my fasting days in order to help me through, but at the end of the day, it all boils down to discipline

    Great podcast with Gin ! This video resonates with me - we can’t control what the scale does but we can focus on our staying the course. Consistency is the most important factor for me.

    Hey lexi. I am giving this low carb and sugar a go. With ADF. What I noticed is i don't get hangry as much. Must be all that carb and sugar craving. Enjoying it so far. I do have a sweet tooth giving up those delicious indulgence i thought would be hard but after 2nd day going cold turkey. I feel great. 😉

    Hi Lexi, and thanks for the video and content. Discipline is definitely what keeps me going. Still doing keto/ADF and my monthly 3-4 day water fast. It is second nature to me, and I love doing it and feel great when I do!

    Do you do full fasts or the 500 calorie mini meal?

    • @MomFasting
      @MomFasting  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have always fasted straight through, I find it easier. But so many people love the mini meal.

    Thanks again for the encouraging words ❤ I’m going to incorporate the habit tracker idea. I’ve been working on Omad, waiting for this to get easier. Goal is to ADF because my sugar is still going high

    • @MomFasting
      @MomFasting  ปีที่แล้ว

      Aw yeah hang in there. How long have you done OMAD? I’m going to tell you that ADF was way easier for me than OMAD. Depending on how you structure it, ADF is actually less fasting hours but can be more effective especially if you’re very insulin resistant. Take care!

      @@MomFasting hmmm 🤔 I didn’t realize that would be easier - I will have to go back and watch your video on that- I’ve only been consistent on Omad 3 days but I do consistently go 18 to 20 hour fast

    • @MomFasting
      @MomFasting  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kim-pr6gl it may be-it sort of simplifies
      Things by not having to think about food for 3 days, then having unrestricted hours on your eating days. The only way to know is to try it. Have you read Fast Feast Repeat by Gin Stephens?

    • @Kim-pr6gl
      @Kim-pr6gl ปีที่แล้ว

      Just wanted you to be the first to know - I did it!!! A 40 hour fast it was easier to not to eat than to eat and stop. 😊 I have been reading Gins book but I never liked having to do the clean fast 😮- but I kept an eye on my blood sugar and the plain coffee did make a difference (I prefer heavy cream)
      My question is - after 40 hour fast my BS is 113 should I continue to fast til it comes down some more or eat? I’m really not hungry

    • @Kim-pr6gl
      @Kim-pr6gl ปีที่แล้ว

      So I took a walk, it came down to 100 and decided to eat although I think I could have went longer. What would you have done?? I’m going to fast again tomorrow and before I eat if it’s still above 100 should I eat or keep fasting ?

    Hey Lexi, discipline is such an important skill…back to 5:2 this week and today is second fast day and it’s been a hard one. Willing tomorrow to come 😅 how’s ur week been?

    • @MomFasting
      @MomFasting  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey well look at you, almost done with your last fast day of the week! By now you’re probably all done and sleeping 😴. I’m doing alright, 3rd and final week of TRE. It will take me some time to process my thoughts on it…but as far as the scale it’s not great! 😅 like seriously. But it’s all good. I’m learning and it’s all part of the journey. 🙌🏼

    • @patriciawai4791
      @patriciawai4791 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MomFasting yeah doing 2 fast days is exponentially easier than 3 for me! 😂 it takes a conscious effort for me to eat enough nutritious food to sustain me on my fast day so it’s nice to be done with fasting by Thursday too. About TRE and what it’s doing to the scale for u, u must have had to resist the temptation to throw in some full day fasts 😅 what’s the plan next? I was just listening to fasting method and I love how they call 24-48hrs therapeutic fasts, I was so surprised how much better I felt after just one day of fast day on Monday (less swollen especially my face). I still have a slight cold but at least the cough is gone now. Btw, I’m very lazy too, if I could, I would sit all day 😂 my mum and sis are total opposite, they can’t sit still and constantly doing some chores or bake/cook/garden/socialise, I get tired just looking at them, and they naturally move at a faster speed too (it takes me twice as long to do dishes)! How are some ppl just so gifted 😂

      @@patriciawai4791 hahaha! We should form a club where we can validate each other doing nothing-🤣but seriously some people are just wired that way. My husband is one of them and he often says he wishes he could relax. He is either going going going or passed out hahaha. Yes there has been a real temptation just to go back to ADF early. But I realized I needed to keep going so I could learn something from it. I love how they call them therapeutic fasts as well and compare it to getting chemo. Of course when you’re not seriously ill it’s hard to see it that way, but still it is a powerful mindset shift.

    • @patriciawai4791
      @patriciawai4791 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MomFasting hahaha, imagine that! A club of doing nothing! Sounds so at ease! 😍 I know what u mean about the struggle of not knowing how to slow down, my mum became bipolar in recent years and my sis are sometimes on the verge of emotional break down, so….Well done for sticking out on TRE despite the temptation. I’m sure it was a valuable experiment regardless. I think one of the helpful learnings I got from a year of mostly TRE, that I wasn’t ready to go without frequent full day fast to maintain food freedom and that I really like the 4:3 fasting pattern instead of daily fasts. It was powerful when they compared it to chemo isn’t it. Love it when u hear same information being presented in different ways and it just further solidify ur belief. Btw, just want to recommend a podcast called ‘A slob comes clean’ by Dana K White. She talks a lot about taking immediate actions, changing the mindset from perfect to just making it better etc. I’ve learnt a lot from her decluttering/cleaning approach and applying the same concept to other areas including fasting. For example, episode 342: the myth of consistency, was very helpful.
