    These are really great ideas. We are empty nesters but MWF I watch two of my grandkids because their mom works open to close those days. She’s a restaurant manager.
    On Wednesdays we eat at church so I don’t have cook. I’m going to work up a calendar for us and see how it works.

    Being prepared for the week has really helped our family. No more fast food runs. I don't meal plan but prep and got kids involved. Cook beef poultry and seafood roast veggies make a large salad and bake potatoes and other sides. Then everyone customizes their meals.

    Great meal planning advice. I'm pretty much a mono eater so I'll eat the same thing all week and the next week move to something else if I'm looking for a change. Right now I'm on a ground beef with sauteed onions and tomatoes kick. I might add spinach or okra to it which I always have frozen.

    • @MomFasting
      @MomFasting  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s so interesting! Have you always eaten that way, or is more in recent years?

      @@MomFasting I think it's been most of my life. My parents said when I was really little I didn't like many foods so I would mostly eat only certain foods. They tried to change it and thought I would eat what was given if I got hungry enough but that didn't work out very well. Now I eat a wider variety, but I still like having the same thing for a while when it's something I enjoy.

    Hello Lexi! That’s such a good idea to have a different theme each day of the week. They do that at school where Monday is normally meatless Monday and fish and chips on Friday for example. But my daughter said she’s so sick of fish and chips now that she’s had it for 5yrs 😅 how’s your week been? We’re finally in February! 🎉🎊 January felt like it went on forever. Second fast day this week after a 4:3 last week (the last time I did 4:3 was Oct/Nov 2021!!). 2022 was a mix bag of 6:1/5:2/daily windows. Recently, I’ve been watching this fitness TH-camr guy and he has bingeing tendency and would still have a few occasions of it after 10yrs of having lost and kept off 100lbs. He talks about how he has come to just accept it happens once in a while and not make it worse with unhelpful negative emotions and compounding the setback. And he would focus on getting back on track because that’s what he can control, instead of trying to stop the binges from ever happening again. And as long as the really good days outweighs the bad days enough, it all works out. It was such a good reminder not to expect you won’t mess up, and make a plan for how to make it easier to pick yourself up again. I then heard from another podcast that struggles is not failure! The universe is sending me lots of good advice to start the new year 😁

      Thanks! It was not my idea but I don’t remember where I heard it originally.☺️ I can imagine your daughter would be sick of fish and chips after 5 years! 😂 I do love some good fish and chips though, are they at least tasty? 😉 That is such good advice about not focusing on failures, and it’s true! Even when you feel that you have habits nailed down, stress/hormones can hijack you or you jus simply fall out of good habits and have to refocus. Congrats on a 4:3 week, wow! And how did you feel about it? I am thinking I’m ready for a change up, so I may actually switch to TRE for a couple weeks, we shall see. And yea for February! Spring is right around the corner, hallelujah! 🥳

      @@MomFasting the fish and chips are a hit and miss, sometimes ok sometimes yucky 😝 Yes! It’s so disheartening sometimes when old habits come back and u feel as if ur back at the same spot even if that’s not true. The weight came down fast with 4:3, I’ve forgotten how effective it is 😅 but i do find it hard and don’t intend on doing it for long. I think I’ll just use it as a short term push now and again when I feel up to it. 5:2 or 6:1 with daily window for Monday, Wednesday and Friday (so still the 4:3 pattern) would most likely be what I’ll settle on most of the time. What made you decide on doing daily window for a couple of weeks?

    • @MomFasting
      @MomFasting  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@patriciawai4791 nice! I think that’s a great plan. Well, bad fish and chips would be…bad 😬 haha. The reason for wanting to do TRE are multiple, ADF has been more challenging the past couple months and I’m not sure if that’s a sign I need something else for a minute. Also I’ve been curious what would happen if I did it for more than a week since that’s the longest I’ve ever gone. So part curiosity, part burn out?

    • @patriciawai4791
      @patriciawai4791 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MomFasting hahaha that’s true about bad fish and chips. You have been doing ADF for a very long time and it does sound like a good idea to change it up a bit and see how you feel. I’ve found a protocol sometimes feels hard at one point of the journey and feels easier at another time. So TRE might just be what you need now (even if you didn’t like it before) and it’s so good that you are listening to your body. Thinking back to 2022, I think I got burnt out when I sort of just try to do my best depending how I felt for the day, and in a way it was decision fatigue with how many fasting hours to do like food (how much or what to eat) all over again. So I’ve finally learnt the lesson that being intentional is important (for me anyway), something we talked about before but I still forgot. Let me know how you get on.

      @MomFasting  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@patriciawai4791 yes so true! I’m interested to see how a daily window without snacking will change things as well, and I’m going to be focusing on an early window, which I think will also make a difference. We shall see! I can see how the decision fatigue could set in with fasting hours as well. “Tweak it till it’s easy” is a long and ever-changing process!
