I had 70% tint applied the other day on my vehicle’s rear windshield. When am driving at night i get refractions from headlights of cars behind me. Is this normal? It is really hard to see at night due to the refractions from headlights.

Double shrink
Double Shrink it and add FILM-ON solution if that doesn't work then add 1oz of 70% isopropyl alcohol to your baby shampoo mix to make the adhesive on the film tac more. Note when you add alcohol
once you squeegee the water out avoid relifting the tint to adjust it to position, it can detach the glue from it,

So, I have 2017 Elantra. The car seemed to have window tint when purchased. Bought the car brand new and now, 5 years later, there are a bunch of bubbles showing on the rear glass around the defroster lines. Is there a simple fix for this?
With cheaper tint, sometimes the adhesive on the film just stops sticking to the glass so it lifts and that's the result. Normally after that period of time it's a re-tint.

I have a 2019 Lexus es 350. about 10 days ago i got my front and back side windows and the rear window tinted in 3M obsidian tint 15% all around. The back window tint never shrank around the defrost lines. Knowing that it takes a couple of days for the ting to shrink down, I waited until yesterday and went back to the tint installer. He (the guy that actually did the work not the owner) told me the job was perfect and there's nothing he can do as some defrost lines are thick and it is what it is. I work with someone who also has a 2019 Lexus es 350 F sport. He tinted the whole car in 5% by the same installer (not sure if it's the same guy who did both cars but same place). His came out with no problems. Can this be corrected? I have pics but don't know how to show you.
3M has high standards and a warranty that all retailers should uphold. If you’re unhappy with your tint I would try to get a hold of the owner and tell him your situation take a picture of your car and your friends car and tell them you want it done as is. If they say no say that’s fine please remove the tint and give me a refund and take your business elsewhere.
@@jond8013 jon i was told the job was perfect a d that some cars have thicker defrost lines which keeps the tint from laying perfectly flat. The owner is ok. The installer had an attitude. Many people on TH-cam said it does happen. I’m not happy with it but maybe at some point I’ll do something about it. It was mentioned if i went darker like 5% I wouldn’t have had that problem but I prefer to see out of the back. Thanks for replying.
@@vmega44 nah that’s just them being lazy. There’s things you can do to make it lay down like extra prep and cleaning with a scrub pad, or having defroster lines on while installing. Chargers have thick defrosters too and sometimes come with peanuts (bubbles) on the lines but I’d just rip and remove and redo it. If those guys were any way professional they’d redo it no problem
@@krazex @Tint Studio I've got the same issue, and when someone's got their headlights on behind me my window lights up like a ladder. Very annoying. Any advice for approaching my tinter with some "ideas" or just let them take another crack at it?

Your gonna want them when it’s cold and you can’t see from the fog that don’t wanna come off your windows try to keep them
@@jad03121 I live in Florida. The thing is some dude tinted my car messed up he re did it but now my lines are half missing. I don’t want to buy a new window. Could I scrape them off or what should I do? A new back window is like $500 bucks I heard. I live in the miami area so it’s mad hot always. It’s annoying when I look out back window. Someone said to do 5% back window and it might hide it I have 20% rite now. Can you help please or any ideas. God bless

An interesting challenge idea i want to see you do that ive never seen anyone do is Tinting while On the Road lol have someone drive a twisty road and with patterns already cut, try to tint while moving. Safety is clearly not a priority in this idea tho

How do you remove tint glue from back glass?
try finger nail polish. the acetone in it helps a lot. wear a mask tho cause you don't want to inhale the fumes lol
No! Get a hairdryer and heat up the tint from outside. Peel gradually
@@dwayne2031 that works for sure. I mentioned finger nail polish remover because I’ve done it and it helped make sure that all the tint adhesive was gone. How is that a bad idea to you ?

@@dwayne2031 oh yea you right about that. I definitely had that in mind when I tried it so I see how that can be a concern. What if you run into an issue where you use the heat gun on the outside and the adhesive still sticks to the window when peeling

How about don't run the car inside the workshop and kill anyone.
Hit the Demister with 100 grade Steele wool,
Check shrink the film.
And for gods sake, do yourself a big favour and squeegee the bottom half of the film first so the bottom sits down nice every time.
Why Steele wool???
Because it smooths down the thicker or corroded bars on European and older cars , the metric dots clean up with a blade way better than clay blocking. And the film bites down better.
If your clumsy probably best sticking with the clay block though.
You do struggle with mounting a bit so yeah.
(I'm the guy that invented the method you use to mount way back in 1989)

Oh. Park the car with the rear screen in direct sun. For about an hour or so to cook it on.
If your going to do that you don't need to worry bout all the prepping of the bars so much but you do need to organise the pick up time beforehand with the customer. As you know the longer you can have the car for,, the better everything's going to be when the customer comes to pick up their car.
(Been tinting for 40 years now)

in my opinion so you have a lot more chance of getting dust
Both options work but imo more chance of dust back rolling it, you are touching the glue side of the tint way more.
Obviously if you carry it and touch every piece of the car on the way it that wouldnt be good.
You should just show ppl how to shrink with a glove .
but I don't know how 😅 lol I've hardly ever used one
it’s the same shit as using. soft card or hard card, just less likely to crease it

Reverse/back roll. Do not copy this guy. Also use steel wool 000/ 0000 to clean the defrosters. Use a bulldozer tool to smooth out the bottle edge of the film👍
