To be fair, if you can spend $1,500 on a monitor, you can probably spend 50 bucks on a stand. If I wanted a company to cut corners in any area to get me the most bang for my buck, it'd be the stand. Something that's easily replaced for cheap.

As if while buying this monitor the $1500 got added to your account increase of being deducted that you can even think of spending $50 after that.
Majority of people just save it and then buy. Not like those 0.00001% people who were born with diamond spoon in their mouth

** Here is all my favorite settings list of both SDR and HDR **
I tell you guys this Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 is very good monitor.
    But...
You have to know how to work the options on the monitor itself to be able to get these visuals!
But if you got the G7 Neo model then just try see if that good for you...
This is very important settings with " Saturation " this give more color for to both SDR and HDR.
Well, best settings is Saturation with 58 or 60 or 70.
I use 70 for both SDR and HDR.
Depending on which movies or games to run.
See and test what is fit well best.
Also important that " Local Dimming " to High or Auto.
Sometimes better use with High and sometimes better use Auto, depend on.
But you need use both High and Auto, However use often with High.
If you like can use also with Low, but i never use Low.
"Local Dimming" is important for both SDR and HDR.
This thing has do with Mini-LED.
You can change " Contrast Enhancer " On or Off, if you like it.
" Black Equalizer " 13 is great but you can change from 9 to 16 or up to 20 if you like it.
    9 to 16 is great
    " Contrast " with 75 and 80, 90 and 100 fine.
You can change Gamma Mode 1 or 2 or 3.
    I use 1 and 2.
Even you can change " Color Tone "
I use Normal and Warm 1 and Natural.
" Adaptive-Sync " is On this is good thing so you can use with G-Sync Compatible to enable if you wanna it.
But make sure turn off V-Sync in game.
If off G-Sync, you can use V-Sync.
I don't use G-Sync due they are not support to all games also i don't need that.
You can have " Adaptive-Sync " on and without use G-Sync and just enable V-Sync.
If you turn off " Adaptive-Sync " You can use with " Response Time " and " Low Input Lag ".
    I don't use " Low Input Lag " Just keep on " Adaptive-Sync ".
If you turn on " Adaptive-Sync " will work run with G-Sync or FreeSync.
HDMI or DisplayPort both work to run with G-Sync or FreeSync.
My " VRR Control " is On.
Well better use with HDMI than DP.
HDMI can get 12-bit color, with a lot color than 10-bit.
But make sure set on output color depth 12-bit SDR in PC.
This monitor model HDMI 2.1 get only 120Hz max at 4K.
If guys wanna run with DisplayPort at 240 Hz but get only 10-bit color.
This monitor support 12 bit color, That Amazing...
If you run HDMI on PC and don't forget turn off HDMI audio in Nvidia Control Panel or in Sound Control Panel, If you wanna use from motherboard audio ports or PC sound card.
If you have problem monitor like when is flickering or glitching or other just turn off power in OSD buttons then turn on power.
If this not help then just restart PC in Windows.
    Then is all good again.
I think DP is better than HDMI for that Samsung Neo Odyssey G8.
Almost zero issues for flickering or nothing at all.
I think HDMI got more issue.
This is just small problem, not big deal.
I did try only with PC Windows DP & HDMI.
I don't know about with Consoles at HDMI if have problem with flickering or other.
I did read from someone comment and he said about Scanlines problem..
    ===========================================================================
What i learned watching hours of reviews
240HZ = GAMING ONLY (Scanlines are not noticeable while gaming )
120HZ = OFFICE WORK / VIDEO (Eliminates scanlines)
*Get used to scaling your MONTIOR depending on the type of work you are doing.
    *SWITCH TO 240hz while GAMING
    * SWITCH TO 120hz while doing OFFICE WORK
    ===========================================================================
You know that settings on SDR will have different settings save from HDR on, If you run HDR will have other settings save.
So you can have two options SDR and HDR settings for saves. Great right?
    ----
    Like Viktor say:
You have to know how to work the options on the monitor itself to be able to get these visuals!
    By
    Viktors Reality
    Name TH-cam video:
    ODYSSEY NEO G8 4K 240hz CoreSync XBOX Cyberpunk 2077
    ---
Make sure change " OnScreen Display " > " Display Time " to 200 sec
You should know they all my settings Picture Mode like Custom, FPS,
    RTS and ect ect mean just like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
Just pick what fit well for right now.
So this all my favorite settings list for SDR and HDR

I feel like a lot of manufacturers are getting cheaper on their mounts due to the prevalence of Vesa mounting. They need to just offer it without a mount and make people buy the mount as an addition to cut costs and improve quality.

Despite Neo G8's potential issues (scan lines or dead pixels / fald pixels) and common issues (low full screen brightness) it's actually very competitive for its weight class: 27in to 32in, Real FALD HDR, decent response times with fast refresh rate, non-OLED monitor
Most of the monitors we had a year ago that has real FALD HDR typically have terrible response times and cost on upwards of $2000 and the Neo G8's closest competitor, Asus PG32UQX costs up to $3000

For bright console games, yes, it is the best. For the best PC HDR it is Samsung G9 Neo (830 vs 350 nits sustained brightness), for dark/horror PC games it is QD-OLED Alienware AW3423 (the best contrast for dark details but not good enough for bright scenes with 260 nits).

One other thing that absolutely sucks about the stand is that it's HUGE .. the feet are so big they take up half of a large / deep desk leaving you with far less room for your keyboard and mouse especially if you like to have them in the middle or far on your desk, you're kinda screwed. It's why I felt forced to buy a monitor arm, but arms that support a monitor this size, weight and curved cost hundreds, the only affordable one is the invision mx450 and I'm kinda worried it might fail eventually and destroy the monitor. On top of that, my desk is pretty thin, the plate is assmebled from 4 different woode plates that are bolted together with relateively flimsy metal pieces and tiny screwd that go directly into the wood, which I had to loosen a few times and retighten (which made them not as thight as they should be). So, it kinda makes me worry. The monitor is incredible, the stand situation is horrible
Also I wish the monitor had some TV capabilities, like motion smoothing, anti judder etc etc in a special tv/content mode. It's looks absolutely fantastic but it's a monitor and movies etc that are 24fps aren't as smooth as on a TV (yes I enjoy the soap opera effect on movies, I think the whole 24fps thing is dumb and wish movies were 60fps, but I'm not even talking about that, there are other anti judder and stuff things that tv's have, since it's such a beautiufl monitor it really should come witht that since it's also perfect to watch content other than that , relatively large and a great tv replacement for whatever room you put it in)

I can buy this monitor for around 1k USD right now due to big discounts but I'm still hesitant if it's worth it. 😔

Seems a bit disappointing for a 1500.00 monitor. I'm looking for a new 4k monitor to go with my new pc and this one is out for me. May cough up more cash n get the Viewsonic elite 32 inch 4k monitor. Thank's for the review!

It always seems like Samsung monitors are very expensive for what they are. Like from what I'm seeing, this could be priced at sub $1000.

u mean all monitors... there are no reliable monitors in the monitor industry where they can guarantee u no dead pixels or a bunch of other issues on ur panel.

Finally honest review about G8 and not sponsored ! 300nits SDR and HDR 😂 (fake HDR2000 it’s not even 1000 nits at full screen) ,as my experience had my G8 two weeks ago and I glad I return it because of low brightness - Crazy Scanlines - Gsync flickering - light flickering - 5 dead pixel after two weeks! - artifacts - dark spots at screen …

A lot of folks have been complaining about lines in these and other name brand monitors and TV's. I work in an appliance store and Samsung and LG are complete junk. We don't sell them no more. With that said, Hisense U6G,U7G,andU8G are great TV's. Lenovo makes great products. Asus ROG Swift are excellent gaming monitors and have better colors and brightness than LG C1,C2, Samsung Odyssey Neo G8,G7,G9,and etc. The Asus costs about the same as these name brands. Asus has become a bigger name as of late but with our a doubt Asus ROG Swift line of monitors are the ones to look at especially for competitive gaming and just for best visuals. Hisense U8G is comparable to the LG C1... except Hisense is better built and should not give you any problems.
