You got an absolute steal on your prices!! We literally just had the same building installed up here in Ohio. Cost just a hair over 11k. (Purchase and install) our concrete slab and digging was almost 13k!! (Went a little thicker to have a 2 post car lift installed) but still. We haven't even started on electrical and insulation and all that yet. Crazy. Good job to you man
Damn! Yeah, I know things have gone way up since I first ordered this building… And I was fortunate to have a hook up on the concrete… Good luck with the building in the build out👍🏼
Looks really good. I did something similar about two years ago and I really enjoy it. My building is 28 x 20 and looks almost identical to the one that you did. I used rigid insulation as well but I did not leave an airgap like you did so I definitely learn something by watching this video. I may pull it off and put something back there to space it out and give me that 1 inch gap. Great job! Look forward to watching more of your videos.
Thanks for the breakdown, that gives me an idea of what I can expect. Great video of size, I'm restoring a classic 1970 Chevy C10 and before I retire, I want to start the process of adding a garage, working outside sucks😞.
Nice! I agree I worked on most things outside in the backyard prior to this… Just keep in mind obviously prices have gone up since I did this building. It’s been about a good year and a half.
Very nice. I'm following since the electrical/insulation video. I have a 30x30 and working on insulation. I used that same eagle coating for the floor but i added some clear artificial sand for slippage since My concrete floor was pretty polished.
I dig that wooden motorcycle stand. I'd like to do the same for my bike. How do you get it up there? A ramp I suppose? I'd love to see a short video on the construction and operation if you have the inclination. Thanks for your other videos, I found your channel while looking to insulate my shop. I'm also in Florida, Navarre here.
Thanks for posting these videos. I’m in Ohio and hopefully will be having my 24x36 metal garage installed next month. Ordered it in March and patiently been waiting. I ordered from a dealer for Carolina carports and since I’ll be trying to keep my shop warm I spent the big cash for their insulation package. Thanks for the tips with electric and water, I’ll be doing the same hopefully soon.
@@robertoperez95 my 24x36 building with 9 ft sidewalls ended up costing $13196.70 exactly. That included 3 10x8 roll up doors and it included their foam R-13 insulation package.
Nice shop man! Just tore down this old 29x23 workshop with 7 ft high ceilings in my backyard, the poor thing wasn't savable and you couldn't put a car inside. Decided a metal building as well due to cost.
here in AZ bought 28 x 30 metal building with 4 windows cost 20k. yep got it when prices jumped. Plan were $1300 but permit was only $140. But I also upgraded my steel to 12 gauge. I do like the wooded panel may do this and add shower inside since i will be living in it for a while til house is built. Love the plant idea. We hava alot of wind here and holding down plants was a concern.
Nice job man. Looks great. I’m looking to finish out my garage as well with some electric and insulation. Any ballpark numbers on your cost for insulating and wiring?
I can’t remember an exact number and keep in mind prices have probably gone up a little bit but I think all in for the insulation and wiring I was around $700
It’s been great I have zero complaints. The quality is really good and it functions really well. Definitely one of my favorite purchases in the garage.
I got a nice concrete pad in my back yard that I'd love to build on, but it is sloped for the rain. I'd like to make a 35' wide and 38' long metal shop, but that slop is probably going to be an issue, right?
What made you go bubble vs foam? I'm reading that bubble wrap is best so long as you're not cooling more than 8-10 hours a day. Also, I'm in Tampa also. Care to refer your friend's concrete contact?
It seems like the reflective bubble wrap would work as well in my mind I was thinking the R-value would probably be better on something thicker that also has a reflective backing like the foam board so I just chose that… i’m sure either one would work. It’s Leola concrete but they’re a giant brand. I’m not sure the actual crew of guys who came out to do the work. I don’t think they normally do small jobs like this.
Your videos on this have been excellent. A few questions. I am needing to learn all I can before doing a metal garage/workshop. I have a design for the standard 9' wall. Would there be an advantage to 10' walls? Also, did your building come from Eagle Carports? Thanks
Thanks I appreciate it, I went with the 10 foot sidewalls because I wanted to get the highest ceiling height I could in case I won day want to put a lift in this shop… I ordered my buildings from Big Buildings Direct… There’s a third video if you go to my page where I do show the finished ceiling👍🏼
Now that the ceiling is fully insulated and finished yes I’ve noticed around a 10° -12°difference from the outside weather… Plan on getting a mini split out there sometime this year super happy with everything
Just finished everything I’ll have a new video out in the next couple of weeks I did the same foam board insulation all the way across the ceiling taping and ceiling with foam all of the gaps so it’s completely sealed… That I used the same framing technique and plywood sheathing I did on the walls across the ceiling as well
How has yours held up so far? Somebody told me the tubing is pretty light and some one else said a guy had bad wind and it pulled the building out of the concrete. Anything like that?
It’s doing great I’m sure a lot of that depends on the company you use and the tradesmen/employees they have doing the install. My guys were fantastic. It’s been through a tropical storm and a hurricane with zero issues.
I’ve definitely heard and seen some terrible reviews on certain companies and their products. Big Buildings Direct specifically is who I used and they were great.
@@The_Heights good to hear. Wind got my barn 2 days ago. Totally destroyed. I was looking at versatube this morning and then you made me check out the company you used. Their prices are really attractive lol. Plus the install? Take my money. Funny enough my neighbor just put up a 3 car garage. I drove by it today real slow to look at it and it’s got the Big Buildings Direct “symbol?” on it. Looks like a bird or something? I need to go talk to him sometime and look at it. Looking at a 30x50 maybe.
Haven’t had any hurricanes yet I’ve had some really heavy thunderstorms it does just fine especially with the interior built out it’s a lot more rigid… It says it’s hurricane rated up to 130 mile an hour wind
Man wish I could get away with that pricing. Here in NYS right now it's $18,775.40 just for the 24x36x10 and $9,500.00 for the 24x36x6 concrete pad. That's not count counting the stamped plans needed
If you had property and didn’t have to deal with a ton of permitting yes I’m sure you could… I’m just not sure what will be required for all the permitting to make it a livable space
Hi. I'm interested in getting a metal shed also. Similar concept to yours. I'm in Brandon. Curious to know, what company did your use for your building?
Couldn’t put the total cost in for those details because the building wasn’t finished… Still had the entire ceiling to insulate and finish out with things like lighting exhaust fans etc. that was just the breakdown for the building itself

hello how much did you pay for installation labor alone on the building? thanks!
The very first thing I did was insulate the ceiling. Moisture/condensation will make it rain in your shop depending on temperature and humidity.
Awesome!

Nice. I'm in Homestead, FL - Who built your place? I'm interested. Thank you
The metal building it self was done by Big Buildings Direct
Looks great! Are you having any condensation issues? I am in Florida and putting up radiant barrier insulation similar to yours
No issues at all but if there ever is any condensation in between the insulation and metal wall that Internet half air gap should dry it out

How did you do the foam board and plywood around the roll up doors?
What did you use for the walls? Is that drywall?? Also, what did you use to attach it with, the metal structure or 2x4s??
This is half-inch plywood on the walls, and I used 1x3”s and 1x4”s attached to the steel framing to mount the plywood

Hey there, did you add the plumbing to the sink after the slab was in? Does that same pipe to the sink connect together with the shower?
Yeah I added everything after the slab and yes it’s connected to the shower
Did they use sealant under laps of roofing panels?
Great work man, Total cost???
Wasn’t sure if I replied… But all in now that I put up the new video and finished the ceiling I am at around $13,500
For the price that's amazing but you guys in the USA get so much more value for your dollar than up here in Canada.
