So I'm planning on using these for gaming. Not casual gaming. playing games like csgo and Rainbow six siege where I need to hear footsteps and stuff. Will I need any sort of amp for these?
Yes I just found out they're closed back. Looking at the 559 instead.
Well the 558 are no where in stock in my country. The 569 and closed back. And the rest are too expensive for me.
I am considering buying the 569 also. Do they swivel around a vertical axis (if you know what I mean). I see that they swivel one way, but do they turn both horizontally and vertically?
Hey, they don't fold in or anything, but they do swivel a little both vertically and horizontally to help them fit to your head a bit better if thats what you're wondering!

Thanks a lot for the videos, i was actually looking for a new gaming headset, had my eyes set on the GSP300 but after your review of these as well and trying them for comfort in a shop, bought these instead, incredibly comfortable even after long sessions , and i've bought a clip on microphone for speech (a Spes Speedlink clip-on mic which is around 8-9 euros) , now i've got the ultimate gaming headset, ridiculous comfort and a really good microphone as well
I'll note i'm using a steinberg UR12 interface for my audio output (onboard sound for my microphone input) and more specifically a great piece of DSP software called Breakaway by Claesson Edwards, which is this really nice audio enhancer, pretty much can't live without it, i really recommend trying it out if you get the chance (there's a free demo) i find with the right settings makes a huge difference

"Bass could be more punchy" I'm almost tempted to get these anyway, as too many low-priced headphones just have *so much bass* and in general an abysmal frequency response, so much so that it's almost unlistenable, so I am happy to hear this as a change.

I've not used the 500 series in what feels like a lifetime, don't remember it at all anymore

How good is the mic quality?
Would you say now that the slightly cold sound is more due to your source since you mentioned that in your other videos about the focusrite dac being cold sounding?

Would this be the perfect audiophile headphone for going to school by train etcetera? That means that it shouldn't have (much) sound leaking and they stay in place very well and the built quality is also good to last a few years
If the nitpicker is happy about a product you are considering to buy that product... Buy it!
Hello Damir, Thank you for making such great videos. I was just wondering if you can recall, the ear cups on these. Does your ears touch inside in any way? I know their is a little notch inside, and am wondering if your ear tips touch at all, or are they deep enough where this doesn't happen? I'd love to hear your input, and thank you.
Thank you for the quick response, though I did just get home from demo'ing a pair, and sadly after a few minutes of wearing them the tips of my ears started to hit those raised pieces inside each ear cup. What a bummer, because that is a big deal breaker for me.
Yep, same here. I did think they were extremly comfortable otherwise. My GSP 350's are deeper for me than the 569's. Oh well, win some, loose some. Thanks again.
The soundstage of the 558 , 598 and 599 are wider and nuch more spatal. Thank you

I ended up buying a pair of Beyerdynamics DT 770 Pro 32 ohms,because Sennheiser never bothered replying to my emails or messages on facebook! Living in Mauritius,it's quite difficult to have stuff delivered from abroad,as most sites don't! But as Beyer has a local distributor,then that did it for me too! And well happy with it! Glad Sennheiser never bothered now! Blessing in disguise and all that! As the Beyer,while loud enough,with its warm all round bass, don't leak sound whatsoever,and for it's $179 price tag,is a very sweet all rounder,for home use,whether on laptops or on the move with phones.
Can someone tell me if I should get these 569s or the beyers 770 for around the same price? Use is for long causal video\music listening and every now and again gaming
You probably already decided but don't get the 770's mine broke after 3 years and the treble was too much. I just got a pair of 569's and they sound better for me and much better mids. Also they have a detachable cable unlike the 770's. Making them much easier to move about without risk of damage.
Sounds like these will work as dj headphones... but i don't like how it don't come with a coiled cable.

I'm stuck between choosing HD 569, Urbanite XL or the 4.40 BT. If you know those headphones too, which one do you recommend?
Yes, I'm aware but as far as the price difference is too low, I'd like to choose the best whether it's BT or wired.
The urbanite xl are brilliant with its active noise cancelling but too expensive and if you don't mind changing batteries every now and again,they're brilliant!
Which ones did you end up getting? I have almost the same dilemma, just replace Urbanite with Momentum 2.
I see a lot of your videos reviewing Sennheiser and it seem like you're not happy with any of them

Hi Damir, Sennheiser hd 569 vs hyperx cloud 2? I'm mainly looking for comfort (I wear glasses so it would be nice if the earpads would not push my ear to the glasses, but as far as i know they are both over-ear) , I just can not decide :D
yes i would use them for gaming mainly, but comfort is the number one factor for me, because previously i had headsets that hurt my ear and the top of my head.(idk why lol)
The padding on the 569 seems so comfortable. I am not an audiophile so im just ok with a clear and nice sound. Btw at the moment i use earphones just because i could not find a headphone/headset that i could wear for more than a hour so yeah... comfort above all (except it has really bad sound) So do you think it would be a mistake to pruchase the 569 for gaming?
So five years later, which one did you buy ? And for you what is the best choice between both, i have HyperX Cloud II and i want to switch on the Sennheiser HD 569 ?
@@Nuggetss_ tried both eventually, they were very close in both comfort&sound maybe the hyperx was a bit more comfortable but honestly no big difference.
Would these benefit from an amp since they only have 23 ohms
Some guy almost made me buy these after asking "Whats the best Bluetooth headphones?" They showed me those headphones and noticed the no bluetooth. Ugh but got them as a present recently.. im saving up for Bluedio headphones. But im keeping these headphones for studying.

Im eyeing on beyerdynamic custom one pro plus, dt770, and sennheiserHd series. But always having a hard time to choose. If you would help me choose one it’ll be greatly appreciated... my preference is best Comfort and best sound quality. You could give me your own personal preference outside the list. Damir Franc budget is 200 down. But i could prob save and adjust for above 200. Im not an audiophile but watching and hearing reviews and sound demos makes me want to experience the same great sound Quality you guys do with great headphones. Can't decide between the 559 569 or 598 se!! I am mainly going to be gaming, listening to music, watching movies! This will be for my PC not, traveling. Recommendations? Comfort? Sound? I'm currently using hypercloud x2.
559 -> bad sound bad comfort. Forget HD559.

Oh, I've seen the review 6 times and I have not noticed, my mistake. I have found almost none of these headphones and cost enough to think twice before buying them. I'm attracted to how comfortable they seem to be, although I'm concerned that the sound is not up to par and there are some better options. I recently came to discover that the ATH-M50X are really bad and I do not want to spend the money foolishly. The search is driving me crazy ...
Then I'll keep looking until I see if there's anything better than this, although I'm likely to settle for these, and if I do not like them... I'll leave you very mean comments! Ha!

Hd 569 bad for surround gaming?
From what I iunderstand, latest lineup tends to be closed-back headphones, which has some impact on surround sound compared to open-back ones. so if you're into more natural and spacious sound, i'd recommend looking into 559-s.
no no no. Everything but just not these crappy 559, lot of bad bass just ugly bass drowning out everything else, no mids and highs. Clamping force is to strong, velur pads are hard.Very uncomfortable bad sounding headphones. They should prohibit to sell it.

I have bought the HD 569 aswell, Ive had them for a week now. im being very cruel to these HD 569 now, but im very hard to please , so here goes.
The sound is fantastic, comming from a sennheiser 161 (10+year) (damn)(still working thou), the closedback really isolates you alot, need a flashing doorbell infront of me at times! I would really have liked a volume button on these aswell," off to by an external sound card with a volume guess., and these are not as nice on the head as you might think, my ear hurt and I get headache and feel my pulse sometimes on the ears and hear the beat! hole shit my ears are varm now, and I do feel the inside of the headphones touching my
earlobe, regular ears thou, I set these on some books every night so they expanse ... but everyone is diffrent I guess, and maby these will fit in a month or so, I dont regret them just yet, but im considering the senheiser game one next time

nah your head still looks big xD .
its been a month now, and my head must have shrunken or the headphone have pressed my big fat head together, anyways, they fit very well now, only once a week do they annoy me. and the sound is still very awesome!
i also find them quite uncomfortable... also they are warm after some time indeed. But coming from AKG K540 which are super comfy

Only comment i have, They are actually open back headphones. NOT traditional closed back. This offeres a wider sound stage and better clarity on lows and mids. That is why the highs are harsh and tingy. So keep that in mind
569 is a closed back model.
