    I have these,and I'm very satisfied with them. Amazing soundstage for closed headphones.

    Sennheiser and closed backs, ugh. Yep. I've heard both the 598 Cs and 569 and from what I remember they are identical.
    You know a cheap Senn that actually surprised me though? HD 200 Pro. Tyll reviewed the 471i favorably, which is basically the same thing, and I agree.

    I love the comfort of the 5 series. I use my HD 599 SE a lot because of the comfort alone. The sound signature is also forgiving / comfortable.

      HD599 is such an underrated headphone. I saw so many people on Reddit et al talking about the X2HR over black Friday when the HD599 was also on sale and cheaper. The HD599 is the one that should have been getting the hype.

    • @brydon10
      @brydon10 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally agree. It's a well balanced headphone that is great for pretty much any genre and that sale for $100 USD ($130 CAD) on Amazon is a complete steal.

      @@WheezyTech Hey Wheezy great video as always. In the UK I cant find these headphones anywhere I wanna get really comfortable headphones i can wear for hours, that are closed back, Dt770 have been mentioned but people talk about the harsh treble/sibilance issues which I dont like. But I want comfort over all things, any recomendations?

    I have these, I don't dislike them but I vastly prefer my HD 558's with leather pads over them.

      Wheezy Reviews Completely agree! I had to burn them in and mod them to get the sound signature I was looking for (removing the foam inside the ear cups and replacing with thin adhesive felt). They're a great set of headphones. I also picked up a set of HD 58X's which are in a class of their own. :)

    Found a HD569 for $40 used but everything seems it decent shape even the ear pads. Worth it at that price? How’s the soundstage on these?

  • @longkick649

    I had a Sennheiser HD 569. Their upper midrange frequencies are as you describe them. Listening to rock, metal or even pop music in them is very tiring. And the ear pads eventually begin to crumble.

    Hi! thanks for your review! really complete. I have doubts about buying the HD 569 model for half the price, or this model (HD598 CS) considerably more expensive for my pocket. Do you notice a big difference between the two? It is for use at home with my digital piano, I estimate to use it for a long time. Postscript: the old model has one more year of use and the pads are very worn, I will have to change them, even so it is still quite a difference in cash and I want to know if it is worth it. From already thank you very much. greetings from Argentina.

      I have the 569's and they impressed me more than the DT 770 80 ohm, sound wise. I'd say they're worth it especially at half price.

    This review came out 2 years too late for me :\. Yea the original earpads evaporate in about 4 months, the Geekria don't fair much better, the outside that you said feels nice has also evaporated, the top band is down to the raw cushion, and they currently have Brainwavz's cheapest pads on them.
    4 years of incredibly heavy use (TH-cam, Gaming, Music - Hard Rock) and I'd say I'm not too upset with them. They're horrible for gaming though.

    I've just bought 599 at 99€ on amazon and I'd like to know your opinion, since you own one. thanks for this review, I was right when I chose the 599 by the way.

      @WheezyTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WheezyTech speaking of the 599, at first I was puzzled for its "sterilized flatness"...almost disappointed. instead, day by day I'm appreciating it more and more. make it clear it's not a piece of art, but has few rivals at the 99€ I payed on Amazon. moreover it's reliable, nice looking and very comfortable. it could be matter for an interesting comparison test with the closed-back K361. it just need few days of break-in

    • @WheezyTech
      @WheezyTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think thats the kind of headphone thats the best. One that doesnt have some wow element to it. Like wow this is bright or wow this is bassy or whatever. When you don't notice it thats when it works best for most genres. Whereas if it had a fun bassy or v shaped sound it would certainly be really enjoyable for some types of music but bad for others. It is good to have a pair of fun headphones but I prefer my headphones to be mostly transparent so I can enjoy whatever music I throw at them.

    "This headphone was one of the mistakes I made along the way" dude not only do I agree with your sound review but that's what I always said about my (well not anymore) HD569. Sennheiser really can't do closed backs it seems.

    • @pedecia
      @pedecia 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The HD25 and HD280 are amazing.

    • @albertovicinanza
      @albertovicinanza 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pedecia The HD25, have boomy bass and a peak in the treble followed by a sharp drop-off (that's what most graphs tell me and what I gathered from reviewers at least, haven't been able to hear them).
      The HD280 are decent but the upper mid-range is a bit recessed and they lack top end extension (again, judging from graphs and reviewers).
      Don't get me wrong, for what they're supposed to do they're probably really good (HD25 portable, durable and serviceable, HD280 isolating for monitoring) but they're far from perfection. The 598Cs and 569 are good at what they're supposed to do, being really comfortable, but they fail in the sound department.

    • @pedecia
      @pedecia 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@albertovicinanza I own more then 20 headphones of all price range and as portable closed headphone I enjoy the HD25 very much because also it cuts the outside sound in an outstanding way. I don't care about graphs and never look at them. They sound amazing in my ears. (I do own several headphones that cost over 2000USD). I prefere the Sony Z7 and Z1R more for my taste but the ycost much more and are huge compared. So Sennheiser have done an amazing job packing up so much sound and punch on a feather midget headphone like the HD 25. It is just art! SOmetime we just need to seat back and listening to just music leaving the technicalities outside/inside the house. ;-)

    • @albertovicinanza
      @albertovicinanza 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pedecia Absolutely, don't get me wrong, when we're talking about enjoyment that's a whole different thing and it's entirely subjective, you can totally enjoy a headphone even when is not accurate, I own many headphones as well and absolutely enjoy some weird ones like my Grado SR80e. I was just talking from a neutrality and accuracy standpoint. The 569 were annoying though.

    After a year, the earpads and 1.5m cable started breaking apart a bit. I am quite disappointed especially for the price it has but at least the sound quality is solid. Could you recommend some place in europe for good earpads at a good price?

    I love these and was actually just wondering if there was a way to get more clamp force and this was the video that popped up. But since I own these I thought I would give my thoughts.
    -My Earcuffs do exactly as his did and well I have had them long enough that you would have never known there was a layer material on top, it is all gone. edit: I see no issue with out that outer layer, so I would not consider them destroyed when that comes off. Just peel it and use the headphones without it. I didn't even notice when it was 80% gone. i just noticed black dust on my shoulder, looked at them and went "Damn".
    -Comfort is insanely good. I'm talking 3-4 years and use for 10 hours a day, no joke, I use them all day everyday as I don't really leave the home, I do everything from my pc and always have them on.
    -As I said I need more clamp force though. I am not getting a seal around under my ear anymore.
    -Build quality is great. I was concerned by plastic at first, but there literally is no sign of wear besides the pads. Band is fine, plastic is fine, opens up fine, bends and twists fine, and so on.
    -If you plan to use it for gaming. I use a mod mic with it. Warning it will not stick to the soft outside material, use plastic under it. My mod mic has stayed there for over 3 years never falling.
    I do disagree with the guitar being piecing. I actually love music with guitar specifically and woman's vocals specifically. Ironically I find the bass to be the lacking part. I feel in games that those are the sounds hardest to hear and it doesn't impact much for music. So me and Wheezy are having nearly opposite opinions on sound. Maybe my unit is just off or his idk. I do own another pair of different Sennheiser headphones and the bass is notably better on them.
    Honestly I couldn't recommend another headset more if you plan to use them for a long time. Everything still works greatly.

    • @WheezyTech
      @WheezyTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would look for a monitor headphone something like a K371, MDR-7506, M50x, M40x, not sure how much isolation you need for e-drums, I assume less than for a regular drum kit? K371 or K361 would get my vote I think.
