    The HD 569 is the most comfortable pair of headphones I’ve ever used. The main negative is that the coating on the ear cups and headband foam start to flake off as they wear. Expect to have black bits on your head and ears for a period. The good news is the flakes eventually all come off and then the headphones go back to being awesome again.

      @@OldAussieAds how are these for purchasing in this year? also i am pretty new to this and i dont know the purpose of the quarter inch jack, and i find the 3.5mm jack cable too short for my setup, can i use an aux cable extender? does that decrease the sound quality?

    • @OldAussieAds

      @@apratimsingh1306 There are quarter inch jacks in some sound equipment, especially in older gear. My 90s era digital piano for example.
      From memory both cables included in the box (long and short) are 3.5mm. The long one doesn't have the mic and remote controls.

    Got them for a good price and was pleasantly surprised. The stage is pretty big for closed back headphones, and I absolutely love the dry, analytic sound signature. On top of that, they're incredibly comfortable.
    I don't get the bad reviews at all, besides the problem with the ear pad coating. Getting a new pair every 18 months isn't expensive, it's just a bit wasteful. Sennheiser should offer replacements.

    Why would they have a dip at 300Hz like the m50x? If that wasn't recessed, it would sound more full and smooth. I guess it's just work for the EQ.

    • @IsawUupThere
      @IsawUupThere 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not heard the 569, but anyone who's saying there's a big difference between the m40's and m50's is talking out of their ass and you can dismiss their opinion. I would not recommend the m30-m50 line if you're not going to use them for monitoring or tracking. They are fantastic for what they are built for, but they do clamp - which is great if you're wearing them while recording, but not so much if you're sitting at home playing games or listening to music for hours (ymmv, not every head is the same). As an every day headphone you want something comfortable and also something that's more forgiving to badly recorded music rather than something that will point out all the flaws and Sennheiser has historically been really good about that... but again, it's very much personal preference. I'm a bit older so I appreciate "harsh" headphones because I simply don't hear as well upwards of 10k as a teen would. Some people seem to hate bass and dismiss anything that extends below 50hz as inaccurate (these people should listen to some actual studio monitors and not the grotboxes everyone seems to think are studio monitors)... but you can't argue with people's personal experience. Unfortunately the only real way to find out is to see for yourself.

      I found the m50x's way too loose.. the headband is so freaking wide! I have a small head but had to get rid of them because the headband was so wide they barely stayed on my head

    • @IsawUupThere
      @IsawUupThere 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If they're new, the earcups should touch when they're not on your head. So unless your head collapsed into negative space they should stay on your head at the very least. The springy part should be metal, so you could just clamp them together over night to tighten them up again.

    • @iu7860
      @iu7860 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      well they sit on my head if Im sitting and not moving, but I expect a headphone to be comfortable and stay on my head if I look down at my lap which they did not. I'm just saying that they weren't very "clamp" like for me so saying a flat statement that they clamp depends on the person's head. I found them to be extremely wide and so did my partner so we got rid of them because they didn't fit either of us. I have a small head though, not a huge noggin'

    I got 'em, ultra comfortable and lightweight, padding is damned nice. They sound great, and totally closed-back. For the money I paid these are a total steal. I now own these, the Hifiman HE400Is,
    and Pioneer X7 DJs, I cannot decide which pair I love more, honestly. Although, the Hifimans are the tops for me, overall. They just sound sublime. But these Sennheisers cannot be counted out,
    and supposedly their opens are usually better, but these are also excellent cans. Both these and the Pioneers are super efficient, Hifimans, not really. True the bass on these isn't as defined
    or sharp as the Hifimans, but still I enjoy it.

    I really hate it when manufacturers put proprietary plugs on the cables. I like to have the cable plug into the headphone through a standard 3.5mm jack. This way, when it gets snagged, the plug will just snap right out and there will be less chance of the cable breaking. And if it breaks, I'll be able to replace it with just any other cable. I don't see any point in a proprietary plug, other than forcing you to buy replacement cables directly through the manufacturer. That's a bit of a deal breaker for me.
    Otherwise these headphones look very comfortable and I like what you had to say about the sound quality.

    I wouldn't even LOOK at any Senheisser headphones after the Venerable HD 540. It completely baffles me what they have been doing these last 30-40 years, Even the HD800S is nice but tried too hard. Similar with AKG. There were some realm god realm type engineers back in the 80's which sadly haven't been seen or heard from since. Man, makes me so sad

      @BeliveInUrself No, I have these headphones and that's exactly what they sound like if I don't push them back so my ears are as forward in the headphones as possible. It's muddy, boomy, awful sound stage, and has terrible high end. Then you get it to fit right, and suddenly it sounds great. It's night and day. I'll bet everyone who says they sound terrible don't have them on right, because honestly I've never owned another pair of headphones that were this particular about fit
