Even if you say that Zealios V2 are what BOX Royals should've been, we can't take away that Kailh's engineers cracked the code for what actually increases tactility. Zealio V1's tried to increase tactility by changing the shape of the bump in the slider, which never really worked as well as expected for increasing sheer tactile resistance no matter what weighting in the coil springs they tried. It seems nobody could figure it out until Kailh realized that the shape of the bump is not the same as the magnitude of the resistance, and that what actually increases the magnitude is whatever element in the switch is directly pushing against the slider bump: for MX-type designs, that would be the contact leaf; the same way that for BOX clickies, it's the click bar. Therefore, thicker contacts = more tactility, which is independent of the shape of the bump or the weight of the coil spring. This principle is exactly what Zeal took advantage of with the V2's, and he owes it entirely to the BOX Royal.

Well said! I will try these if my halo clears with krytox 202 don't do if for me 11 days from now. Lubing your switches doesn't decrease actuation force unless you lube the legs... Man this keyboard game is interesting

@Kyle Louw at the beginning I used 205G0 for all switches too.
Now I would not recommend doing it like this though.
      205G0 only for linears
      TriboSys 3203 for tactiles
the G0 numbs tactile switches while the 3203 doesn't make them as smooth but keeps the tactility.

Love all your reviews and guides! Great quality work. For better or worse, your sound tests have set a standard I have yet to reach with switches!
You have said that Cherry housings are your favorite for sound; is it possible to put a Zealios 2 stem in a cherry housing? The sound of the zealios in your QXP was a bit more high pitched than I had hoped.
For context, I use tribosys 3204 lubed cherry mx clears with 68g springs. I really like them but would like a bit more tactility.

The intro was very creative and fun and the quality of the video itself (recording, editing, etc) is very rare in our community.
The information is on point, you focused enough on HP comparison which is really useful and what a lot of people wants to know about, described the feeling in a very deep and knowledgeable way, from feeling to sound and etc, really cool!
I don't even have good suggestions for improvements, maybe comparing good lube options for the switch? Well, you kinda did that and more than that would probably be unpractical anyway.

I want to build my first "real" keyboard. Currently using a 30$ mechanical keyboard after my razer broke. Can't decide which Zealios V2 I should get. I want a switch which is a bit heavier but I don't know if you can actually get tired after longer sessions if the switch is to heavy. Is it possible to get tired with any of those weights? And is the 67g a good choice for not getting tired but having a nice tactile bump? (searching for a 75% with no bezels atm. too :D) Want to use it for typing and gaming.

@@manwithllamaMake sure you buy a brass plate and lube the switches if you want this particular sound. Its worth it.

I really want to use these, but i have no clue (and don't have enough skill and time) to make a custom keyboard. Does anyone know a tenkeyless keyboard that comes with these?
