Love the track......Sounds South American with a North American kick. Picking up a 99' Trooper tomorrow. Making that baby an Overlander. Wish me luck, y'all.
Awesomeness’
Very very nice... I drive my own Trooper to...great job👌🏼
I had an '87 Trooper with the 2.3 liter I bought at the end of '87.Lasted 20 years after my wife kept driving one night when the anti freeze came out.She warped the heads but it kept on going. What a great vehicle!
That’s a testament!
I had a white 88 (i think) trooper 2. Loved it. put warren locking hubs on it and bfg 31"ats. push guard, roof rack and it looked just like a range rover. went through 10" of snow. finally died trying to get up a clay/mud hill. Blew a head gasket. They all do. But great little rig.
Utah should be a crime. Just saying. LOL haha
Where are you from? Come visit!
Also built a trooper down here in Arizona. Awesome seeing this!
Very Cool!!
Been saving up money to throw a new front seal and torque converter in my 01 Trooper's transmission. I paid $1750 for this thing, and It's been a labor of love type situation over the past year or two getting everything fixed up but the TC and front seal. I've avoided videos like this out of pure jealousy of mine not working as it should lol, but this was a blast to watch. I am happy to say that I have saved up the money and I'm getting the work done this Tuesday, so I will be sooping mine up to be an overlanding vehicle as well once that's all squared away. It's rare to see people making content on these things, they're uncommon to say the least. I love mine though, bought it after it was sitting for 8 months. it made it home with all its problems 200 miles over 7% grade mountain highway and only cried for mercy twice.😆 Enjoy it man, these rigs are unstoppable.
This is just awesomeness. Ya, what people don't know is this first video alone, took me 6 months to make. This was from working a bunch of evenings and some 12 hour days. It takes a ton of time and work and money to make this happen. You get that I'm sure. This is why I was robing parts from 2-3 other vehicles just to try to save some money on the whole thing. Keep chipping away at it. Eventually, you'll have something to be proud of!
@@TJackSurvival Yeah man definitely, I'm in a FB group for these things where people have helped me every inch of the way. It's been a laundry list but they helped me make short work of it. There are people in my FB group who have entire fleets of Troops that they just pull parts from as needed. Really cool to see lol. I know how that is man, mine has taught me how much money you can save with just a little time, patience, and elbow grease. I'm proud of it alone for the simple fact that it's taught me everything I know about cars so far. At this point I wouldn't feel right giving up on her when she never once gave up on me.
I threw you a sub, didn't realize it was ACTUALLY you until I checked your vids LOL. Keep up the good work on it man. I know it's not the smartest to develop an emotional bond with vehicles, but I can't help but love these things, and I love even more to see one be brought back from the dead.
@@truck3696 that’s excellent and I understand. They can be a pain, but man they’re like another kid in a way. You want to see it successful. I’m probably in that same group. I think I dropped this video in there. Rob B has been a massive help to me. We don’t do these things in a bubble. They take outside knowledge and assistance. And ya it’s me. Good to meet you.
@@TJackSurvival Yeah, just like a second kid lol. Good to meet you as well, looking forward to more of your content. 👍
Love the music! Also love the project :-) for some reason it reminds me of Toubab Krewe which is totally kick ass!
With money we can transform everything in everything.
There are no secrets!
Way to utilize the unused! Your project is solid!👍🏼
Thanks boss
We had a first year 1984(?) Trooper with two doors, 82 hp engine, and manual transmission. Slow as you expect but kind of fun to drive. You don't see them anymore.
Those are rare. They make awesome troopers for wheeling especially if you upgrade that engine
Sharing on MeWe!
Awesomeness
Thanks for the video. I will continue to watch and learn for our own big tour to Turkey. It goes from Germany via Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Iran to Turkey to our HOME.
That would be amazing! I’ve been to Kyrgyzstan. It’s a beautiful part of the world
Nice to see it. Good project
Sup boss! Thanks
Nice video. Happy to see you excited about it
Thanks for the help boss!
Loving the process and the story, great job guys! And yes...I'm loving the music also.
Thanks boss!
The ultimate in recylcing! Good job.
Wish I had the skill set to be able to do something like this
If you can watch TH-cam video and you have tools you can do this. I’m a nobody and mines running now. But do know there’s a bunch of money in parts as you’re buying a new car one piece at a time.
Thank you for sharing. That was great, I have a 97 trooper, I can't find any detailed videos how to do the valve cover gasket
Ya man sorry I have no idea where to point you on that
If the old wheels will work, and if you have the space, it might be worth putting some budget tires on the old wheels and storing them just in case
I’m going to put them on a tear drop trailer for future videos in this series
Awesome content guys! I’m eating this shit right up! 🇺🇸🗽
Thanks
This may sound like a stupid request- can you take this baby to Sand Hollow and ask Matt's Off-road recovery to get you, I'd love to see a trooper on their channel. Although I doubt it'd get stuck ;)
I’ve actually already reached out to them. I’d love to do a video with them. Maybe a what to pack for self recovery video.
You can get anything stuck if you try hard enough!!!
👏👏👏
Ya buddy!
It doesn't matter what body you use. And even axles. What is important that the motor attaches to the transmission and you can weld the driveway or pay to have driveline welded. I love to experiment.
Awesomeness
I read many complaints about 4L30E transmissions in the Trooper, I suppose due to the bigger size and weight. The 4L30E is reliable in the Rodeo as well as all the other vehicles including GM and BMW cars.
I’ve got an ‘88 Trooper II I want to get up and running! I rebuilt the fuel injectors a couple of years ago and something went wrong... lots of fuel spraying everywhere.
I’m no pro but I think you did something wrong
Damn, the whole time watching this all I can think about is how expensive this must have been. It pays to have connections too for a workshop. Where'd you learn to do all this?
If you do your own labor like I did it’s not bad. The shop owner provided the knowledge that otherwise would have taken me months of digging into old TH-cam videos and threads. Some engine knowledge I picked up from a high school class I took as a kid. Some from helping fix ranching equipment when I was young and some from fixing and rebuilding vehicles I owned in the past as they broke down. I also used to have a jeep I built similarly to this years ago. A lot of this isn’t super complicated and requires experimenting or smart friends. But ya building vehicles is spendy.
Music was very bothersome but I appreciate you effort.
No music will make everyone happy. I had people on the last video say they liked this exact music. It is what it is.
Did you line the back side of the door panels with flexible body armor?
That’s a random question. You can use conveyor belt materials for this successfully though.
You still got trooper parts in Provo!!!?
What rims did you get? They look nice
Helo Rims from Pro Audio 4X4 in Provo Utah
If you are looking to install a 12V fridge, please watch this video

I love This steel front bumper… You can Send me the drawings or design? Thank You
It’s an ARB bumper.
But it’s still a Isuzu trooper 😂jk bruh 😎
True! A Japanese jeep Cherokee… but 500 bucks for a starter is well 500 for a starter
You live in Utah? Me too!
That’s where all the cool people live
Well that and Idaho\Texas/Alaska/and a few other places
@@TJackSurvival where about in Utah you hanging out in? I'm in the Payson area.
@@joegreen925 that shops in Provo. Great guys there.
