- After the recent emergency on I95, where 100s of vehicles were stranded in the snow, Jason shows how he prepares his family vehicle for similar situations.
With even a small amount of preparation, situations like this don't have to be an emergency.

love the father daughter banter 😂😂
The side eye from the dog was hilarious!!!! "Dad, really? Shut the door. You're letting all of the cold in!"
You have beautiful children. I love how you are such a good dad. They obviously love you and enjoy being with you. Well done.
You are an awesome dad. They are blessed to have you :)
God Bless your children. Your daughter's reaction was epic, I love it. Wonderful video, most often preppers forget that many of us have children and they need to be included in preparing as well.
There is an interesting story of a guy that was stranded in Alaska in winter (and -30F temperatures) who cut up the back seats to get at the foam inside to make "shoes" so he could walk to a place with heat & communications without getting frostbit on his feet..
The flexing tip is spot on. Taught my boys that while in cold spring turkey blinds. Beautiful family!
Excellent video with the kiddos and letting the youngest daughter drive (she looked like she owned that steering wheel 😁). I’ve made my Dodge Journey home for going on seven years now. Coworkers have joked how in a situation where vehicles are stranded… there I’d be angry for being disturbed (while cooking meals, watching TH-cam videos and staying warm). Do a summer heat video as well pls. Maggie wasn’t too interested in exiting for the fire drill. 👍👍😁🇺🇸
Snow tires are also important so you can drive around the suvs with summer tires stuck in the snow. :)
Just subscribed! Humor sold me!!! Plus of course the fun part! Everyone does clogs, but not this well!!!!!!!!! 🥳
The reality of prepping with your family ❤️
Lovely family Jason, c'mon Mom, we want to hear you too! Rob
That’s one thing that people don’t always do is make sure to keep a full tank of fuel during winter. Especially when there is a winter/snow storm coming, make sure to fill up!
A half-empty tank allows water to condense and freeze, which blocks the fuel lines.
If you do get into deep snow, dig away the snow near the tailpipe! If you don't, you'll die from carbon monoxide poisoning. And run the engine for short periods, only enough to heat the cabin.
Ay I don't like spaghetti or lasagna either dang it!!! I Definitely go for the chicken and rice, and raspberry cobbler ,beef tacos , chilie,, or just good old Ramen noodles.
You have a great family buddy it's good to see , keep up the awesome work 👍 I have a feeling we prepers/ Americans may need as much knowledge on these type of things in the immediate future . It seems like the world as we know it is going to hell one day at a time anymore. Everyone stay safe!
A Happy Days moment when you said Chines Fire Drill. Richie and the gang’s shenanigans.
Possibly the greatest survival tool of all, a family will push you beyond your limits to make sure they are fine.
How practical. To actually practice with your family.
Good advice . May the Lord bless you and your beautiful family, you seem very loving and fortunate for it.
Love the video. Great tips for being prepared. Keep up the good work and thanks for the time you spend educating the rest of us.
Make sure if you are leaving your water filtration systems in your vehicle that they will still work after freezing. A lot of filters do not work after being frozen.
Outstanding video!
Yep, good reminders. Living where I do in Southern Colorado. Weather can be unpredictable and dangerous if not prepared. I have always carried extra coats, blankets, water, snacks, and fire starting stuff in my vehicles. There have been times where we have been delayed because of wrecks or rerouted for various reasons. It always makes me feel like I can get my husband, myself, plus kids through nearly anything, at least for a few days.
Hi Jason as always great advice my friend keep yourself safe and warm God bless you always
Excellent advice sir. Literally had everything in the video during the Georgia "Snowpocalypse" about 8-9 years ago. Except tea. I carry spiced cider and hot cocoa for a warm drink. Everythinv you mentioned is extremely useful in that situation.
A front windshield shade with mylar on the front, reversed would reflect heat back in
Awesome family!
Fantastic video and as always you add humor and real life experience.
Equinox is prone to rear main failure below 20 degrees due to clogged pcv valve. Make sure the OEM recommended fix for the pcv has been done. If nit check and drain the line twice a year. Also AC Delco FC219 oil filler cap breaths unlike the stock on Equinox. That will allow excess pressure to escape and not lose the rear main seal.
If you live in a hot climate and are taking your car into the snow for the first time make sure your defrost is powerful enough to stop the windshield from freezing over. There are plenty of cars that can’t handle 15 degrees Fahrenheit causing your front windshield to become non clear.
Good tips, you have a wonderful family also!
Great video. Love the kids. Basic info that so many fail to grasp.
Good video. I liked that you had your family with you, and as in a real situation. Great info. Thanks.
Great practicals! I carry backup power chargers for small electronics. And a tarp and flotation devices...I'm in Florida..... 😂
There are candle lanterns that double as a practical heat source. Just having some people in the vehicle won't do anything. Automobiles leak so much air, and there is no insulation to retain any little heat you can generate with your body.
The best thing to do is to not go out in severe cold or to know where you are going, to guarantee arrival. Slow down to a safe speed!, take safer roads, or just stay home.
Thank you for the video. Good stuff all around.
Awesome 💞🔥
Love the video with the family. Great info
Outstanding

Kid: I'm just going to sleep back here
Dad: that's the plan
Kid: what 😧
Thanks for the great video, thinking ahead for a few days saves lives, we have a abundance of solutions in the world, if we're aware of them!
Empty water bottles are good to pee in. So I've heard.
Large volume. Don’t want to stop that process mid stream. Or so I’m told.
I would definitely have toilet paper, but add some wet wipes/baby wipes as well. You can get a lot of hand warmers as well.
Excellent! Was your house right around the corner? It looked like a fun experience. Maybe not in real life if you’re feeling desperate. Great teamwork!
I have decided peanut butter and wheat thins are the Highest density food that will last years and still tastes good. Power bars that do not have a coating that will melt is second best but don’t taste great after 12 months.
Peanut butter is actually what we stock up in the south for hurricane season. It keeps well in heat & cold, can be eaten straight out of the jar, most people like it, full of protein and good fats. Easy to store.
I have thought about including some almond butter for those allergic to peanuts but I don’t personally know anyone with peanut allergies so it hasn’t happened.
Dried/dehydrated peanut butter or almond butter is even better because it has a longer shelf life.
People are so weird man 😕
...anyways good vid dude keep up the great perspective and info! 😉
Where is that road you’re on? It looks greener than what I would expect.
great video
Baby wipes better than tp, helps u detail your car in down time too😁
I brought a 1 gal thermos and filled water that stays in the car all the time
Daughter #1 not thrilled with this exercise...she wants to go home.
Capri Sun foil drink pouches do not freeze.
When you have a "luxury" SUV, you don't need any extra stuff or preparing! You already have AWD, ABS, and some other acronyms, so you just start your "performance" turbocharged engine, turn on the heat, and GO.
Screw the ice scraper or snow brush. Those $30 all-weather wiper blades will take care of any ice or snow on the windows, and you have the "brightest headlights allowed" to blind yourself and other drivers. And your $30 UFC T-shirt and eye-phone will keep you warm in the sleet.
👍and a comment
Your daughter may love East Indian food no pastas. Very healthy and hard to find authentic in the restaurants
Reason why i keep my tank full...
My goodness
YES! I was going to do this but you beat me to it.
Poor Maggie
👍👍
So where did you get such beautiful and fun children???? You’re wife must be a babe!!!!! No negative reflection on you. Well maybe just a little…Great video!!!! Fun and informative. Sorry but the kids were the stars!!!!! 🤨🤣👍🏻

You lost me as soon as you said Chinese fire drill was offensive! Can we please drop the PC BS!
I was laying the sarcasm on pretty thick. I am about as far from PC as it gets.
