Hello Vanessa, I am 69 years old and have sewn all of my life. I recently retired and starting watching a lot of tutorials to help me learn new techniques. I wanted to tell you that you are the best instructor I have ever watched. You do a great job of explaining what you are doing. Keep up the great work.

One of the best tutorials I've seen on attaching binding tape. I've watched a lot of videos on how to attach the ends and were never clear on how to do it. Your video was extremely clear and informative. I finally feel like I can attach the ends of binding tape using your method. Your videos are very informative and easy to understand. They contain so many helpful tips. Thank you.

I have made 9 of these. And have a few more to go. The walking foot is a big helper. And cutting the binding on the biasis is a blessing. The more you quilt the lengthwise and the hands the happier you will be. These are Christmas gifts and i am so happy. I have used
Insulbrite and cotton batting. Thank You Vanessa.

I made this today and getting ready to do needle work for binding. I will admit that even with the walking foot I did have some difficulty keeping fabric even, I changed to my Teflon presser foot with better success, didn’t have any problems with thickness as I have a heavy duty machine. Thank you for the tutorial and pattern 😊

Thank you for a great Tutorial. I made one with my old scraps of material and it came out fantastic, I also did a little quilting on the front. Received some great comments from family and friends. My son asked me to make one and it is a lovely gift idea and a friend has asked for one as well. Nice Christmas present. I will never buy Bias Binding again now that I know how to make my own thank you so much for sharing.

    Hi Vanessa,
I used your most recent publishing for the potholders and made some great quick gifts this year. I like this one as well. Does the Poly therm fleece described here have greater insulated value than an insulated batting that is used in the potholders? I can order some but don't have any of the poly therm on hand, so I was curious. Wonderful tutorials all around!

For the long outside piece, using batting tape, could I cut a piece of InsulBrite big enough for the for hand portion and then join with a piece of regular batting for the long center portion to save money on buying all that extra InsulBrite since your hands only go in the end mitt parts? I would also cut one long piece of regular batting for the outside portion that your hands isn't touching. Does that make sense?

And, you can always quilt the rectangles instead of basting, which will accomplish the same thing, but make it look much nicer
