Thank you!!!! This is a great book mark. LOVE the fold over the ends trick. Where have you been all my life??? Thanks again. Looking forward to more great ideas.
Thank you so much Vanessa I really really appreciate your video and I’ve watched you before, but I really really wanted to watch again and to get the measurements down, so I can make a few of them for gifts. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
I love this tutorial! I just bought my elastic in every color they had. Now I am on my way to my sewing room to make about a dozen bookmarks for family and friends. I love all your tutorials.
I really enjoyed making this. It was easy and super fast. I made one for my husband with some Colts/Football fabric and put it in his college text book as a surprise!! I made a couple for some girlfriends too. I made 3 in less than an hour!! I really enjoy your youtube videos. You don't waste a lot of time, and you explain things clearly. Thank you. Teri
All the book lovers in my family will appreciate this. Great idea - and I can try out different sizes for regular sized paperbacks, larger ones and hardcovers, though I am thinking the latter two would be the same size. Thanks! Glad I found your tutorials!
was VERY thrilled to talk you yesterday at the Pasadena convention center and loved how charming you were to Karen and me. I will enjoy your videos even more (if that is possible)now that I actually met you. We also met Jennie after you told us she was in there. Thanks for that. I live in Pasadena but I would have traveled a lot further to meet you both, my favorite video teachers. Thanks again, May Light. (PS. this is an old picture)
nice idea, i am a beginner at sewing but i think this is a great idea for a book exchange as a little surprise. i dont think i can get that batting where i live but i have some thick eva foam
For some reason, I just saw this for the first time. As you held up the finished project, all I could think is that this would make a great headband, if you make the fabric part longer and taper the ends, don't you think?
Great project Vanessa, but I have a question on your iron. I have been considering getting the Panasonic cordless iron you have there - the reviews are good but a recurring debate exist, whether the iron gets hot enough. Most quilter reviews say yes. I would like your opinion. I haven't seen you do a review on it yet.
+LovingHandsDesign I d love this iron! It usually stays hot for 2 minutes after you take it off of the base. After that it will need to be put back on to reheat. Once I need to reheat it, I just move on to another part of my project until it is hot again :)
Thanks for the info. If it stays hot for 2 mins that good. I have a large quilting ironing board so I could get a large piece of fabric ironed before it cools down. So putting it back on the base and shifting the fabric this iron would be ready to go
Super cute! I love that you used FOE. I have some I've been trying to find new uses for. My latest has been using it on the waist of circle skirts for my daughter :)
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know a way to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid lost the password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Karson Tristian I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Great video, project, and lesson! I love that you do functional projects and inspire ways to utilize the beautiful fabrics we love so much! This was a great idea and I just wanted to encourage you to keep doing what you're doing; I am a fan of your work! PS. One skill highly neglected on You Tube is serging...I have a serger and have yet to sew one stitch! Terrified...so..if you know how to serge and you can share some tips and projects using the serger I would greatly appreciate it :-) Many Blessings, E.
+Elysia B (chattyprincess) thanks so much! So happy that you are loving all of the tutorials :) we just might have a little serger tutorial in the works ;) be sure and stay tuned!
I also would like serger tutorials and also some idea of what would be a good starter serger that is not to expensive .. your the best Vanessa TY for all the great information you give us ...
I have some stretchy tape I bought by mistake with some binding tape. Red pokadot. Didn't know what i would do with it. Now I do, and am using some tag fabric that came in a bagoscraps that I bought from MQC, I can write names on the tags or some other message. Tks
I loved this video and can't wait to get started on the bookmarks. I was wondering what Baby Lock machine you are using in the video and which machine do you prefer Juki or BabyLock? Thanks
+Mary Jedlowski so glad that you love the video! I am using the Baby Lock Katherine in my newest tutorials..she is great!! That is a hard question! I love Juki and BabyLock! I get the best of both worlds because I use Juki at home to sew but when I come to Missouri to film, I get to use my Katherine :)
Thanks for sharing! Ive been wondering the same thing. I follow the MSQ co and have had an eye on the baby lock too. Decisions decisions. Ive been sewing for abt a year, and think its time to invest in a good machine
+Zainab Barodawala that sounds like a great idea! When you finish your bookmarks, share them on the Facebook page, Crafty Gemini Creates!! I would love to see them :)
😊 ❤ love it. It's great for my daughters class. I can make so she can give them to them as a going away gift at the end of the year.
Thank you so much Vanessa, I really really enjoyed watching you again, I watched this maybe 6-year’s ago. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags

+Teri Sanders that is so great!! You can bust them out really fast and in mass production :)
Love how you explain the why's and show the process. I see a lot of bookmarks in the future!
All the book lovers in my family will appreciate this. Great idea - and I can try out different sizes for regular sized paperbacks, larger ones and hardcovers, though I am thinking the latter two would be the same size. Thanks! Glad I found your tutorials!

Love this tutorial! The perfect bookmark for my Quilter's Planner! Thanks for another great tutorial Vanessa! :)
+Kelley Hornberger Yes, girl! What a great idea!
I made 18 in less than 90 minutes! Thank you for your awesome videos.
Super idea. And what wonderful fabric. I keep a scrap box of fabric and this would use them up
+DeeLightful Co LOVE this fabric!! So many great prints in it :)
Just love your tutorials. Thank you!

Love it! You’re a good teacher. Thanks so much for sharing.
you are such a great teacher! thanks great for Mothers Day this year. Wonder if you make this in a 4x4 hoop for and Embroidery machine?
Judy
Cute and super easy, I have a ton of fabric scraps I can use to make these! Thanks!

Vanessa, that's a great idea 💡. I can definitely see me making some of these. Thank you so much 😊
Love it as usual! Thanks Vanessa
+kweunique You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
For some reason, I just saw this for the first time. As you held up the finished project, all I could think is that this would make a great headband, if you make the fabric part longer and taper the ends, don't you think?
She has a reversible headband tutorial like that on this very channel. Then again maybe you know that and are joking.

Thank you for making this tutorial! i have found my diy Christmas gifts this year!!!!! :D
Muy prácticos para las más pequeñas. Gracias por compartir
Great stocking stuffers, thank you
great tutorial. Thank you! Wondering if you fold the fold over elastic or use it unfolded? I've never used this before. Thanks!
+Lyn Evans so glad that you love this tutorial! You do not need to fold the elastic. It is already folded for you :)
Thanks! Have not used the elastic before. Will have to go looking for some!

Can you do a video on some type of storage caddy that can sit on your work space to hold your tools. Something that you can leave out, but not a mat.
+Shaneka this one would be perfect for what you are needing! th-cam.com/video/0f6gpIw9p_Y/w-d-xo.html&nohtml5=False
+Crafty Gemini Creates this will work. Thanks.
Great tutorial.link for supplies doesn't work
I think we can use the same way to make the pin cushion that goes around the sewing machine
Great idea!
Is there a particular reason you have to use Peltex? Would a good stiff piece of cardboard do in a pinch?
+Margaret Williams You could most definitely use cardboard. Just don't wash it. If you use the peltex you can wash it without it losing its form.
I like this idea
What are you using as an ironing board? I’ve been looking for something flat like that!
hey vanessa
awesome video
we can use stiff felt to make these little cuties and customize them.
what say:):)
+Zainab Barodawala that sounds like a great idea! When you finish your bookmarks, share them on the Facebook page, Crafty Gemini Creates!! I would love to see them :)
I loved it, thanks
Great idea😊
How wide should the elastic be? The link in the description does not work 😢
Such a bummer my Kindle has prevented me from using these! I like a lot.
+WealthisoftheMind so happy that you love it! :)
muy bello
+Olga Artavia Gracias!
That's great thank you
Your link to where you can get the materials you used do not work😪
