    Totally agreed with George Yeo, I say pay attention to the interviewer, when Yeo explained why the Asian don't see Western perspective. The interviewer drifted off looking at the book. Why? He has close his mind, & he didn't want to hear others explanation when he hear something that he doesn't agree. That show why the West are ARROGANT & doesn't want to keep a open mind. I agree with George Yeo view points.

    • @AdrianCHOY
      @AdrianCHOY 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If Ukraine's current choice is to confront Russia, let's consider an alternative approach. Ukraine could opt to join Russia outright. Instead of engaging in conflict or reaching a compromise after resistance, a direct alliance might offer better outcomes.
      Wouldn't that simplify matters?
      By aligning with Russia, Ukraine could avoid accumulating debts to the USA and potentially the IMF during post-war reconstruction. It would also prevent Ukraine from being used by NATO in conflicts that don't directly impact them. Currently, Ukraine finds itself embroiled in a war, unwantedly caught between the USA, NATO, and others.

    That is the problem with the West. Most could only look at issues from THEIR perspectives which I cannot blame them since they have the hegemonic power for a long long time. My way is the best way although mostly many times, don't do what I do. LOL. Many looked down on Putin and called him evil reincarnate. I was never interested in Putin but boy when I first hear him speak, I am very impressed with his speech. He backs what he says with facts. No dramatic rhetorics like some leaders. Ever since, I look forward to his speeches. And I know the West looks down on Russia and called Russia the gas station. The Chinese call Russian 'fierce warriors' and not for fun having being their neighbours forever.

    I agree with George Yeo. But the question really remains - why does Putin insist on using force instead of doing proper negotiations with Ukraine, EU or even NATO?
    What this means is that before anything, since history till now, Russia has already adopted a very adversarial stance in its foreign policies.
    We do not need to negotiate with leaders or countries who take world peace and country boundaries lightly. If it takes a world war to put these sort of leaders and regimes in their right place, so be it.

    • @Blaze7296
      @Blaze7296 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      A personal opinion I'd throw out for the sake of discussion: warfare and diplomacy are both sides of the same coin. Consider this:
      1) The whole point of diplomacy is for a country to get what it wants from another with words.
      2) The whole point of warfare is the same, except it's with force.
      3) Countries are generally assumed to be rational actors, hence it will always use diplomacy first because it's always less risky to use words than to use force.
      4) If all avenues of diplomacy fails, then two options remain: either the issue at hand is not worth the effort and they back down, or the issue is serious enough that backing down is not an option, hence they turn to war.
      That Russia resorted to war implies that they have already exhausted diplomatic options, and whatever issue that is aggravating them is grave enough that they can't back down. Hence the war.
      IIRC, Channel News Asia published a piece date 8 Mar 2023, quoting Singapore Minister of Home Affairs, K. Shanmugam, regarding his opinion on the war. He did give a brief overview of Russia's history with the west: Russia genuinely did try to engage with NATO diplomatically, even as late as 2010 under Dmitry Medvedev, but they were consistently not taken seriously and their concerns brushed aside. Fast forward 10+ years with no real success in diplomacy, and their concerns are grave enough, they have no choice but to wage war.

    • @shurakishi4707
      @shurakishi4707 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Blaze7296 NATO was precisely created to guard against Russia or then Soviet Union.
      NATO did not bother Russia at all - it is a defense union. It did not expand or invade Russia.
      People who are saying "Nato expansion" are not correct as it is not NATO which is expanding, but more countries joining NATO. And why do more countries join NATO - the latest being Finland and Sweden?
      AGAIN, it is precisely to stay guarded against a country like Russia.
      The world better be prepared that one day Russia really acts aggressively towards other countries. It is not a matter of if, but a matter of when.
      That's the real test of NATO as an organisation - how fast will they be able to put Russia out of action militarily.
