The state does try to keep them together. However, if the foster home has no room or the foster parent can only wants 1 or can only afford 1 that is when they are separated. Atleast that is how it is in FL.

Beautiful young ladies..I'm glad they were reunited. In 95, I had twin girls a week after my 21st birthday.. Contemplated putting my girls up for adoption but I was afraid they would be separated. October 13th, they celebrated their twenty-seventh birthday and also my fourty-eighth Oct 2nd🎉🎉... So thankful, I decided to keep my babies

Beautiful women...I'm wondering why the state even got involved when they lost their mom if the maternal grandparents were willing to take them in🤔sad but I'm glad they were reunited.
Unfortunately with Black children social service agencies are quicker to throw them in foster care rather than exploring other options to keep the children with family.
The state will fight to take people's children even when there is family members willing to take the children in. When my auntie passed, she had 4 young children left behind and my mom and her brother fought the system for a few yrs to get legal custody of those children. How sad was that smh!

No, my sister is fostering so she can adopt and right now has a little girl with two brothers, all in foster homes. The 3 of them were together in another home and that family asked for the little girl to be removed because she was a problem. So she was placed with my sister. She is trying to get all of them so they can be together, but sometimes there’s a shortage of placements, foster parents are approved for a certain number of kids, based on the size of their home, capabilities, if the child is disabled , etc. so there’s a lot that goes into it, if they had a person approved for two kids, but already had one, then they had one space at another home, they would place the siblings separately, so they have a place to lay their head at night. Sometimes that’s how it works out, doesn’t seem to purposely break up siblings. My sister said in the classes she had to go through they were told that It’s more devastating when siblings are broken up than it is that the kids are without their parents.. 😩
My niece and nephews were separated to punish my sister for disrespecting the CPS personnel involved with her case. My mother and I stepped up to foster her children but were denied. End result- they were separated and ALL abused in every imaginable way. One of them on the very night of his placement.

Sometimes the father or the fathers parents oppose adoption, but in most states kids can make their own decisions where to live.
