That's probably its closest BMW competitor... Not in price but in performance. I'd imagine the GTS 4 is quicker around a track with more grip but I haven't looked into that.
Quarter mile would be close. But I don’t think the M4 would be able to keep up on a track. The 911 is 200kg lighter and has much more grip with its wider stance and fatter tires.
The thing thats really fucked up since speculators started buying if you actually drive these cars and put miles on them the value falls through the floor. There are so many 2 year old cars with less than 1000 miles on the clock. GT3, 7 months old in my OPC with 45 miles on the clock and they will sell the same flipper another one. I have 4 Porsches and love the cars but Porsche GMBH and their dealers well what can you say......
As nice as these cars are, they are not worth the price of admission. This is especially true in recent years. If you're purchasing with pocket change then it likely matters not, but if you are a well healed individual that still needs to work within the confines of some sort of financial reality, the price/value equation is not there any more. These cars are fast becoming status symbols more than anything else. Unfortunately. They were always status symbols to some degree, of course, but this is on a whole other level now (and in a very short period of time). The main aspect that is making this be the case is the fact that Porsche is intentionally creating artificial demand/supply in their favour by intentionally limiting production, increasing pricing, etc...If this is what works best for them from a business perspective then I guess it makes sense. Hard to argue with from that angle. As a car enthusiast that doesn't help me though...lol
The 911 is definitely not a sports. Especially the Turbo and Turbo S. Yoh just put your foot down and it goes fast and pretend like it’s exciting or engaging. This is now a supercar.
BMW M4 competition xdrive cheaper more power more space & AWD , 4seats , more tunable then the 992 gts & u cane get a much better exhaust sound if u modified it then modifying the exhausts of the GTS , bigger community , more tune parts...
GT3 is only good on the track. For your everyday roads, the ride is too harsh. It also doesn’t have the torque of the GTS or Carrera S. GTS will smoke the GT3 on 0-60.
It's a $200k plus car...I don't think people who buy them would care much about gas costs or maintenance costs! It's kinda like telling someone who bought a $5 million dollar home about the property taxes they will need to pay! Dude...they don't care!
Did you say the 2023 “base” Carrera has 473 hp ? Are you an owner….or a “journalist” who conned a dealership out of the keys for an afternoon of creating another “if I don’t know, I’ll make it up” TH-cam video ?
What have you driven in the line up exactly? I have a 991.2 GTS, and I find it twitchy, feeling every damn pebble in the road, and feeling connected to it such as I would on a sport bike. I drove a 991.2 GTRS on a race track and found it similar, but a LOT more feel and stiffness (a lot more noise and loads of top end.) I drove my buddie's 991.1 and it's just like my car, but with way less torque, more top end noise, but the chassis felt similar. My other buddy has a 997 C2S, and it drives similar, but doesn't feel nearly as tight and precise as the 991.1 or 991.2. I would say that the soul of the iconic car is the shape, engine position, and most importantly, it is always at the top of the class, with better performance characteristics as previous generations. Now, I drove an R8 V10+ (2021 I believe) and that car has no soul, no road feel, precision, but like you are on a pillow, it's the opposite of twitchy. Anyway, I wanted to challenge the notion that these have gotten away from the "soul of the iconic car." These cars drive like nothing else and that's what makes them really special - the new cars still hold that statement, so until a Porsche comes out and fanatics say, "it doesn't drive like a Porsche," then I think it has a soul, a very old soul at that.
@@jedediahsmart569 I've pretty much driven all Porsche from the 964 to 991 Turbo S, GT3, GT3RS on the track. My contention is with the size of the chassis and the overall body size of the car and the way it behaves while you're driving. Although the newer generations tend to be more refined and precise that, however, is not what I'm looking for as it compares to the older models as far as the feel and the sensibility of the older generations. The newer generations tend to be more high-tech which takes away from the manual element of driving. The higher technology seems to be taking more of the burden of the track whereas the older generation had more of a connection with your driving and how you want to drive. I guess what I mean to say is that the older generation are more analog and with much less technology, sort of like the raw machine and the human rather than the high-tech AI designed machine to handle a lot of the hurdles of driving.

I rented every sports car under $250k a few years ago, settled on GT3. When I figured out rear engine cornering, game over
992 C2S with manual and rear wheel steering is waaaaay too much for the streets. Amazing vehicle.
Sounds like you are flying to Orlando to drive my base 996 Carrera
That car is stock ride height??? Looks lowered and doesn’t seem like stock ride quality
It is lowered. Good eyes 👍🏼
Love my 22 Carrera S Cab MANUAL, I daily it! Great review.
The targa 4 gts looks even better imo its more $$ tho especially with dealership markups
I’ll take the GTS rear wheel drive with a manual. PLEASE! That color will be fine
Saw this car at Spanish banks at cars and coffee
I owned a 2006 Carrera S and it was 0 to 60 in 3.2 and only paid 44 grand for it in 2018
Your channel is great. First video of yours that I’ve seen. I am subscribing.
What year is this car and does it come in a manual gear box? ❤
Thanks for the awesome video!! 🤙🏼🔥
Yo! Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
GTS Coupe comes with SPASM as standard. Targa and Cabrio only get PASM
A gen
Simply put
Seats 4 people. I don't think so
It actually does if you’re below 5’10
Mine does...LOL.
Which headlights are those? I’m spec‘ing out a carrera s and don’t know which to go for
This one has the LED Matrix which give a “x” signature instead of the 4 dot as daytime running lights.
Ha.. My blue car made it in another one of your videos :) I think your wow's in thus video might be different had you just stepped out of my car, 😂 love your color choice 😂
Almost a full second faster than 991.2 GT3 w/ manual
Facts. But theres something even better (No AWD tho). Carrera T with GTS Turbos and a Tune. Best 911 bang for buck.
I’d rather get a naked GT3 than a fully equipped GTS
Me too. But to get an allocation on a GT3 if you don’t have connections is like winning a lottery
@@1980blingbling True. Maybe the used car marked is an option. Prices are not much higher than MSRP
I dont know all Porsches are over priced. 😢 Especially, these days.
Thinking of 992 or 718. Thoughts?
Turbo body is different, what's standardized is the widebody layout. Turbo body is wider than this.
Actually all 992 are the same width.
Imagine being so bent out of shape about the word "Carrera" lol
This spec is amazing!
A 911 turbo would smoke it
The 3.0L twin turbo ain't a "Turbo", and the turbo-less Taycan Turbo is a "Turbo".
Crazy cool color!
Brandon, great car... please pay someone to do 2 step paint correction 👍
Pink 30hp less ,CONFIRMED !
Ccloawns..
All Porsches have the same problem with the steering wheel In the way of the dash boards
Yep
Minimizing the display takes care of that problem. I don’t mind it at all.
@@PJ-ps3vv wait what do you mean?
Everything you need to know is visible.
I wish they’d stop prosers from doing “evaluations” on cars they spend 2 hours driving the shit out of…..only to get back into their Kia Sorentos.
Talk to owners !
Damn I get tired of this crap !
Yes actually the GT3 is by miles the best most fun Porsche on sale today. U just gotta use ur brain a bit n get narrower tires so u can actually enjoy the car on public roads.
I see you with the Lucid Motors hat 👀
;)
I wonder how this would compare against M4 competition xDrive in performance? Haven't found anything on this
That's probably its closest BMW competitor...
M4 gets dusted on track, see C&D Lightning Lap Every Car
One is a boat and another is a boat. The only difference is one has a dagger board.
The most beautiful Porsche is the carrera 4s
Honest Q: Why not just get a new Nissan GTR?
Greta hates this 🤣
The thing thats really fucked up since speculators started buying if you actually drive these cars and put miles on them the value falls through the floor. There are so many 2 year old cars with less than 1000 miles on the clock. GT3, 7 months old in my OPC with 45 miles on the clock and they will sell the same flipper another one. I have 4 Porsches and love the cars but Porsche GMBH and their dealers well what can you say......
185,000$ better be good 🤦♂️
As nice as these cars are, they are not worth the price of admission.
If you're financing a Porsche then I got news for you... you can't afford it.
@@plasmac9 Wow, do you post ridiculous things like this a lot? Absurd.
@@dlj1285 Go finance your Hyundai and keep being poor.
@@plasmac9 YES
The 911 is definitely not a sports. Especially the Turbo and Turbo S. Yoh just put your foot down and it goes fast and pretend like it’s exciting or engaging.
This is now a supercar.
Is it Ruby Star?
Man, all this a headache 😅 if you broke glad I can enjoy watching you be fancy 😉
Fast enough for me.
This thing is humongous nowadays it resembles a large raunchy American car.
What color is that looks amazing
It's called Rubystone or Ruby Star. It's a 3000 dollar option
@morgan von Sweet!! & only 3g option not bad. 👍🏻👍🏻
BMW M4 competition xdrive cheaper more power more space & AWD , 4seats , more tunable then the 992 gts & u cane get a much better exhaust sound if u modified it then modifying the exhausts of the GTS , bigger community , more tune parts...
Whats the color?
if it's a porsche color I think it's rose red
Rubystar
The 992 is turbocharged! Stopped watching immediately after seeing the disconnect, was this intentional deception?
GT3 is only good on the track. For your everyday roads, the ride is too harsh. It also doesn’t have the torque of the GTS or Carrera S. GTS will smoke the GT3 on 0-60.
Porsche prices are just over e top expensive.G8xs dont evem come close in term of cost..and I'm talking Carrerra S and base here..
I like this car. The GT3 is doing too much the Turbo also doing too much
It's a great middle ground. I have yet to drive the 992 turbo or 992 GT3 though.
Save 33k....but still over 150k lol
I'll take whatever savings I can get over in 911 land
@@RoadsUntraveled definitely
Good luck with those maintenance costs. 😂 Tesla maintenance costs are almost $0.
It's a $200k plus car...I don't think people who buy them would care much about gas costs or maintenance costs!
It's kinda like telling someone who bought a $5 million dollar home about the property taxes they will need to pay!
Dude...they don't care!
I’d rather have a Lexus GsF than a Carerra
Then you should get a Lexus!
Did you say the 2023 “base” Carrera has 473 hp ?
Are you an owner….or a “journalist” who conned a dealership out of the keys for an afternoon of creating another “if I don’t know, I’ll make it up” TH-cam video ?
Nope, never said that.
Targa for me anyday
Not AWD?
911s❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
0:12 That's a very bad sticker job. Yikes
Is it the video quality or something cause what’s up with this color? 🤨
It’s 4 GTS
Not GTS 4
Once you drive the gts you know that no other supercar can come close
I mean I wouldn't go THAT far haha.
10:35 👍
Im getting me a 991 C4 GTS
Targa 4 gts better
TTRS
Carrera 4 gts not carrera gts 4
Year round? Haha
he talks like hes unsure lol do a little more research
Not a fan of Porsche after the 997 series. Porsche completely got away from the soul of it's iconic car.
Totally agree with you Smart. The drive and feels is still right there, just more matured than before and that's what I'm guessing the OP ment...
997 was a sports car. The 911's that followed are larger. Many people feel they have evolved into Grand touring cars withthe Cayman becoming Porsche's Sports car.
@@wcmontana exactly, the new 911 post 997 seem like a small utility cars or mini Caymans. They lost that true original Porsche sport racing feel IMO.
No thanks.
