The Pam1312 of 2019 has the hacking second in the P9010 movement. The 2020 version with the steel back is a downgrade compared to the older Pam1312 version.
its not a downgrade if you look form the perspective where slapping a balance wheel spinning very fast with a lever is not a good idea, mechanical watches arent so accurate anyways.
I might buy this watch. I need to know if it is easy to swap between the rubber and alligator leather straps. Also would be nice to know if the alligator leather strap is waterproof like can you go swimming with the strap. I know that swimming with the rubber strap would have no issues since the watch is rated 300 meters
@WR4K I heard that Panerai is hated for some reason and I'm wondering why that might be even though they seem like really well made high quality watches. I'm not going to let other peoples hate effect my opinion because if I like the watch then I guess that's all that matters at the end of the day
Panerai are disliked as they have said some of their movements are made in-house. In reality they aren't made by Panerai in-house. Thus collectors dislike being misled by the brand. Regards, #WR4K
Lots of comments about hacking seconds. I don't really get it. I have two watches that don't hack including a Pam 111 and I don't really see the disadvantage. You wait until the seconds hand hits 0 and push in the crown...you've just set the exact time. I have many watches and AP and Patek watches often don't have hacking seconds either...but nobody complains about them for some reason. Perhaps it's just that some Panerai watches used to hack and they removed the feature?
On a legacy movement like the Unitas in your 111 it wouldn't bother me, it comes with the territory. However the fact that this is a modern movement that already hacked and was then downgraded to non-hacking for no reason, losing all of its decoration at the same time, is unacceptable in a ~$10,000 watch. If they significantly downgrade the reference to cut costs, they should lower the MSRP as well instead of continuing to raise it. Panerai has no respect for their customers

Wow a 11k cad POS. How does it not hack the secs? Every watch I’ve ever had hacked. From a 900$ Seiko to 9k Omega PO. I do own a Pam112 but it’s a two hander so.. Panerai should be ashamed of themselves here on this. 🤦🏻♂️

Perhaps you'd enjoy a 42mm, 40mm or even 38mm version. Lots of size options w/ Panerai.
