I'm not trying to be awkward here, but you're supposed to wear a wristwatch slightly further up the arm than the bones at your wrist. That way it fits more comfortably and the crown or its guard doesn't touch the back of your hand, and the watch never constricts the movement back and forth of your wrist. It seems to be a recent phenomenon that people try to wear a watch actually over the the top of their wrist bone. It seems pointlessly uncomfortable to me. I wear mine an inch up the wrist, behind the wrist bone and have no problems with the buckle or crown/guard of any watch.

Your history is correct, although Rolex designed and built those early Panerais, and did so up until the mid 50s, Panerai simply commissioned them…modern Luminor and Radiomir are essentially vintage Rolex designs, and vintage Panerai are actually Rolex watches. It’s a rich joint history that Richemont tries to hide.
the background of the date is of same colour as the dial and there is shadow inside that date window. It is difficult to see the date.The borders of the window should be beveled and the date should be slightly bigger.
What you were doing with the seconds hand at around 18 minutes is called back hacking. Us classic Omega Speedmaster Professional fans know all about it.

They skimped out on hacking, and in later versions of this reference added a closed case back. Plus I’m sure there was a price increase at retail since the previous reference 312. The PAM 312 movement did have hacking seconds and I believe quick set hour similar to GMT movements on some other brands. Personally this for me is the best all around PAM you can get. I don’t care much for hacking seconds since it’s not a chronometer spec watch. Then again some of the most expensive Patek Philippe or JLC are non hacking so the hacking or non is a personal choice. I good either way. Arguably there are pros and cons to hacking vs non hacking movements. But that gets into the engineering aspect of movement durability and watch maker debate. I say enjoy it and wear it. It’s expensive yes but very different from most other watches. Cheers enjoy
