Lyrics:
Dirty, rotten, filthy, stinkin...
She's my cherry pie
Cool drink of water such a sweet surprise
Tastes so good makes a grown man cry
Sweet Cherry Pie
Swingin' on the front porch
Swingin' on the lawn
Swingin' where we want
'Cause there ain't nobody home
Swingin' to the left
And swingin' to the right
If I think about baseball
I'll swing all night yea
Swingin' in the living room
Swingin' in the kitchen
Most folks don't 'cause
They're too busy b***hin'
Swingin' in there 'cause
She wanted me to feed her
So I mixed up the batter
And she licked the beater
I scream you scream
We all scream for her
Don't even try 'cause
You can't ignore her
Can we take a moment to appreciate how this video perfectly shows the transition between the 80's and 90's.
Yes and I'm 54 okay the 80's rural okay letting you know that okay
yes, by 1990 this was so dated, everyone liked Nirvana , Soundgarden and Alice In Chains
@@rickybobby6579 Nobody liked Nirvana in 1990 except a few people in Seattle.
_IN CASE YA DINT KNOW..._ As they say... Even in 1992 Guns 'N Roses, Aerosmith, Nelson, etc., etc. were dominating Music Television.

If they can sing "She's my cherry pie", why can't I sing "He's my banana split?" Lol Sweet banana split.

Rip Supernatural
I just finished rewatching this episode 😂

Supernatural, one of the best shows on TV!
I can't imagine anyone questioning that the 80's held a super amount of magic for us, that were lucky enough to be old enough to enjoy that time in rock history. We had a huge range of rock songs from love songs, sad songs, message songs, to pure metal, to glam to the max, and mixed up with songs that were a whole ton of fun! We are still grieving that time that most of us would love to recapture once again.
@Wendy Testaburger 1990 exact- and Warrant had stuff out before this for sure. so they're technically an 80s band but who cares
This song is way better than people give credit for. That's actually a pretty ballsy guitar riff and the lyrics aren't bad for something quick written out of semi spite.
Ehhh…it’s pretty bad. I get why Jani hated it so much. It’s basically Pour Some Sugar on Me, which is also not a great song.
For the album CC DeVille of Poison played the solo for this song
@@alexdelarge1433Jani seemed up in the air about this song depending on which day you asked him about it. One day he’s ok with it and other days he hates it. I think it’s clear that a well crafted song like Uncle Tom’s Cabin was expected to be a bigger hit because they put more work into it. Not a song that took 10 minutes to write. If you spend weeks or months on one song but the 10 minute song is the one everybody goes crazy about it can be disheartening and even confusing. When people asked him about it I’m sure it opened some wounds that maybe were closing up. He wrote it, I don’t think he hates it, I just think he’s upset that it overtook something he considered way more worth it to them. He said so himself the album was going to be called Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Cherry Pie was a last minute dump onto the album. It would piss me off too if that happened to me.
often the best riffs/melodies/chords are written spare of the moment. something about not overthinking it and just letting it flow
Today 5 years ago he passed away... R.I.P. Jani... This was the first Warrant song I ever heard, little did I know at that time he would become so important in my life, his songs basically saved me.. Thanks for everything Jani..

Got this cassette in High School and man did I get in trouble with my sister and my mom….but my gf got it for me on my birthday….I still have it. Wish Jani Lane could see this song reach a new generation of fans because of this song. Warrant is one of the greatest!
Why would you get in trouble? Its not very explicit
@@edge1000 the subject matter…of course.
That's not what he would have wanted...he would have preferred this song to die off and go away. 0:24 Seriously one of the catchiest riffs of all time
You can thank C.C. DeVille of Poison for that. He wrote the riff and played lead on the song for Warrant on this song. (Even mentions it in the liner notes)
Probably because it's repeated so many times throughout the song. :3
+RowdyRodimus I hope CC got his cut. Shame he didn't save the riff for Poison, I would have liked to hear how it turned out. That said, Jani Lane is an exceptional songwriter.
Actually, C.C. just played the solo.
tolkienoo He wrote the song in 20 minutes on the back of a pizza box which is now displayed and stored in a Hard Rock Cafe in Destin, Florida.
The band looks like they had a fucking blast making this video.
Huh.
he hated the song he said so in an interview that the record company needed a single like love in an elevator by aerosmith so jani lane wrote this song on a pizza box but he said that he was at a hard point in his life when they interviewed him about that so he cleared the air and said "Can I clear the air on that? They [VH1 producers] just caught me on a bad day. It was a bad moment-I was going through a divorce, my mom had just passed away, all this stuff was going on-and they sit me down in a chair and wanna start grilling me with questions, and I didn't wanna be there, so ... You know, push that interview to the side, I'm happy as a clam to have written a song that is still being played and still dug by so many people. It's hard enough to write a song, let alone one that sticks around."
Altrunchen i know right god i wish i was Bobbie brown so i could marry jani
Altrunchen . No
P
Altrunchen they probably did
I wish Jani would have realized how epic this song is! This song still gets every bar jumping as soon as it comes on!
The problem is that he was forced by the "fans to play this song every where he went and in between every song in every concert half the crowd would always be chanting cherry pie.
Loving banana split is not a crime
The editing skills on this video is mad

Granted I was never a fan of these guys whatsoever but I remember meeting them when this album came out. I worked as a head buyer in a very large (now very defunct) record store chain in NYC and I was really impressed by how incredibly nice these guys were, some of us who were working that in-store, were dreading it. I met alot of people during these years from 1988 to 2000, Some celebs were really nice and some were really gigantic egotistic assholes. Warrant were at the top of their game and a huge band at this time and could have been really big jerkoffs. They were the exact opposite, especially Jani Lane. The place was filled to the balls with fans. The way these events usually went was fans would line up and usually had like 3 to 5 hours or so to get stuff signed. These guys were there for like 10 hours, taking pictures with fans signing lp's, posters, cd's, body parts (use ur imagination..I saw ALOT of boobs that day). They would not leave until everyone got a chance to meet them. They were just a really genuine bunch of guys who really loved their fans and loved the fact their fans made them famous. It was really nice to see. After the instore was all done the band left a bunch of cash behind for pizza's for the store. No one ever did stuff like that. Just wanted to share that story. Needless to say when I had heard about Lane's passing a few years back it kinda hit home a little and I remember talking to a few friends from the store we worked at that day, Really sad. He was a really good guy. Like I said, We had alot of celebs in and out of that store, very few of them ever spoke to us. These guys came into the back offices, hung out with us, smoked and just bullshitted with us. They were definitely a high point of those long gone days of music retail that are unfortunately now gone. RIP Jani Lane. Thanks for the pizza
thanks for the story;)

How can you not love this song 😂
CoCo Cartel, right! It's a funny song!

You'd have to be a prude or a pseudo-intellectual comedian.
Jani Lane hated this song. There's a video about glam and hair metal where he talks about how this album was already done, and Jani got a call from someone at the record company who said "I've been listening to the album, but I don't hear the single, we want something like Love In An Elevator." So Jani wrote Cherry Pie in one night, dropped it to the record company the next day, and regretted it since. The album went from being called Uncle Tom's Cabin to Cherry Pie, his legacy was Cherry Pie, he was in cherry pie eating contests on guest appearances, all he was known for was Cherry Pie...
He says this in the video, while almost in tears; "I could shoot myself in the fucking head for writing that song".
I have never been into boy bands.

My mom met Jani at Hammerjacks Concert Hall in Baltimore, Maryland one night. She was sitting at a table with her friends when he walked by and accidentally spilled his drink on her! He felt so horrible and kept apologizing over and over. My mom smiled and assured him that it was okay. He still felt so bad that he ordered her and her friends a bunch of drinks on the house. He sat down and hung out with her for a good hour and treated her with such kindness and sincerity. She said he was a true gentleman. This was back in the early 90s and he was the kindest, most compassionate man with a great heart ♥️😊
Awww thatz a nice memory.
Jani Lane...did not expect this song to be such a hit that it dominated his life. He rejected that he became known as 'the cherry pie guy' ...rather than embrace it all. So he drank himself to death.

Every stripper in history has danced to this song
Also to girls girls girls THE CRUE.
Take it off....Kiss, lol. 🤩🇳🇱
Is that why my mother loves this song??
@@LAPISTime25 Holy shit dude
To the already listed ones I would add what it would be my list for that "Walk on water" by Aerosmith, "Pour some sugar on me" by Def Leppard, "Bad girlfrend" by Theory of a dead man, "Beautiful dangerous" by Slash ft Fergie, "Rocket Queen" GNR (minus the last part), possibly "Dancing with the queen of New Orleans" Bon Jovi and a personal one, "Vuelo Nocturno" by an Argentinian band Rata Blanca
Fun metal in the 80s... Bring this back!
Just wait, I'm sure it'll be back in a few years
