Saw Joan Jett at a free outdoor concert in Denver a few years ago. Since it was outdoors I was expecting there would be plenty of room to find a place to watch, and I thought there would be just a few songs I'd really like. Wrong on both counts! The park was jam-packed and the entire show absolutely rocked -- one of the better concerts I've ever seen. I was already a fan, she's now one of my absolute favorites!

Listened at full volume driving down the highway and singing along . I will say that Joan Jett had a harder edge to her music and oviously was the lone front . I'm just saying at that time women had a harder time getting credit than men in rock .

My baby girl (she pretends to hate me calling her that but actually loves it!) was born in '94. She grew up in the shop with me turning wrenches, building race cars and listening to REAL music! I taught her how to play guitar as best I could but she's way better than I am now! She took body shop classes in high school and continued them in tech college. She now has her own shop doing body n paint on hot rods. The tech school also had a music program and she met a few people there. They've got a band now. Somewhere in between all of this she also found time to give me twin grandsons! She always was my lil overachiever! Oh and she also paints all of my project vehicles for the cost of materials...THANKS BABY GIRL!!

The 80s was the golden age of rock. And Joan Jett made inroads for women in rock. She was on the bleeding edge and GREAT at it.

@@tac07man52 Heart was fantastic too. The sisters hard rocking playing Led Zeppelin and of couse their own music . Ann has a hell of a voice and Nancy wailing on her guitar. Listened at full volume driving down the highway and singing along . I will say that Joan Jett had a harder edge to her music and oviously was the lone front . I'm just saying at that time women had a harder time getting credit than men in rock .

My baby girl (she pretends to hate me calling her that but actually loves it!) was born in '94. She grew up in the shop with me turning wrenches, building race cars and listening to REAL music! I taught her how to play guitar as best I could but she's way better than I am now! She took body shop classes in high school and continued them in tech college. She now has her own shop doing body n paint on hot rods. The tech school also had a music program and she met a few people there. They've got a band now. Somewhere in between all of this she also found time to give me twin grandsons! She always was my lil overachiever! Oh and she also paints all of my project vehicles for the cost of materials...THANKS BABY GIRL!!
