I love how the 80's visual aesthetic was so intentionally campy and over the top that it goes all the way around to become ironically immortalized as the sexiest, most stylish thing in history. And the fact that glam metal like this and Italo-disco reached their peak at roughly the same period always blows my mind.
@@viktordickinson7844 This is the name of this subgenre of hard rock, sir. If you dislike it so much you should _probably_ be commenting on the authenticity of Belphegor or Imperial Triumphant fans instead of Alice fking Cooper.
Just saw Alice on the 6th in Raleigh. I've been to multiple concerts, seen just about every group/singer there is, and have seen Alice multiple times through the years. Best concert I have ever been to!!! Alice only gets better with age and his wife Sheryl looks younger on every tour. Everyone needs to go to at least one Alice concert in their life. He is awesome!
I completely and wholeheartedly agree with you . If you're a rock fan you have to see Alice live at least once . I got addicted to his concerts so I've seen him 8 times in total now.

The first time I saw Alice Cooper live was in the mid 90's. The highlight for me was he asked the audience (us) to request any song for them to play, I immediately screamed Poison as loud as I possibly could. He turned to the band and waved the baton, and BAM! Poison! Great memory from an amazing show!
"I wanna hurt you just to hear you screamin' my name" So poetic it should be coined on a Hallmark Valentine card and romantic its bound to get you laid
This song was so dark and haunting that even just listening to it gave you the thrill of doing something transgressive... what a great feeling for a 13 year old boy. How nice to have that feeling again today, I thank Alice Cooper and other great artists for giving me such pleasures in my youth

Out of curiosity, what didn't you like about rock? I feel like rock is literally impossible to hate simply because it's such a huge and diverse genre that encompasses so many types of songs, so you're bound to like certain types of rock. "Rock" includes anything from Jimi Hendrix to the All American Rejects, from Elvis to Black Sabbath, from Chuck Berry to Gwen Stefani, from Queen to Coldplay. I would go as far as to say that rock is the single biggest genre in the world, both in terms of variety as well as sheer popularity. That's why I'm curious as to how you could possibly hate rock?
No joke. I'm glad I was an 80's kid. Rock was real and true them days. Nowadays are just freaks and fakes. Justin Bieber is a fine example of what I'm talking about.
Because they mostly made their own music, not some premade producer shit that lacked a pretty front man/girl.. They had real bands back then! Weeks and weeks of stufio work to make one song.
Сумасшедшая энергетика, нынешним "звёздам" такое не под силу. Впечатление, как будто всё настоящее: и музыка, и жизнь остались в прошлом, а мы живём в какой-то искусственной некачественной имитации.
I have always loved this song. I was blown Away when we saw Alice playing live and my lady was on her feet, singing the whole lyric and doing all the actions from the video.
In addition to being a great star who made great music in his own right, Alice Cooper also helped several stars beat addiction. Dave Mustaine basically says Alice saved his life. Mad respect, dude :)
I remember hearing this song on the radio when I was 11, during a time so dark I've blocked out entire swaths of time. I'm 44 now, and this is still one of my favorite songs. It's got a passion I've seldom heard in anything else.
Yeah I remember the first time, I was about 17 in my bedroom. It completely floored me, I was just astonished that something so powerful could actually exist. I'm 40 now and it's lost some of it's oomph, but wow it still burns.
On her way to work one morning Down the path along side the lake A tender hearted woman saw a poor half frozen snake His pretty colored skin had been all frosted with the dew "Oh well," she cried, "I'll take you in and I'll take care of you" "Take me in oh tender woman Take me in, for heaven's sake Take me in oh tender woman", sighed the snake She wrapped him up all cozy in a curvature of silk And then laid him by the fireside with some honey and some milk Now she hurried home from work that night as soon as she arrived She found that pretty snake she'd taking in had been revived "Take me in, oh tender woman Take me in, for heaven's sake Take me in oh tender woman", sighed the snake Now she clutched him to her bosom, "You're so beautiful," she cried "But if I hadn't brought you in by now you might have died" Now she stroked his pretty skin and then she kissed and held him tight But instead of saying thanks, that snake gave her a vicious bite "Take me in, oh tender woman Take me in, for heaven's sake Take me in oh tender woman", sighed the snake "I saved you", cried that woman "And you've bit me even, why? You know your bite is poisonous and now I'm going to die" "Oh shut up, silly woman", said the reptile with a grin "You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in "Take me in, oh tender woman Take me in, for heaven's sake Take me in oh tender woman", sighed the snake Sighed the snake "Take me in, oh tender woman Let me in, I wanna come in Take me in oh tender woman", sighed the snake Come in

Beneath the makeup and the theatrics lies a master storyteller and a true musical innovator. Alice Cooper's ability to blend horror with humor, darkness with light, has made him a cultural icon. But beyond the shock value, his music offers a deep exploration of the human psyche. One of the greatest rock songs ever. So iconic and replayable, graced even more so by the presence of a positive role model for everyone and anyone who straddles the darkside of life.
@@RS-xq6je Alice Cooper is a role model precisely because he gave up alcohol and drugs in favor of a clean life. He realized he didn't need those things to be cool or extract pleasure from life. This must be a shitpost because everyone knows this about him

I love how the 80's visual aesthetic was so intentionally campy and over the top that it goes all the way around to become ironically immortalized as the sexiest, most stylish thing in history. And the fact that glam metal like this and Italo-disco reached their peak at roughly the same period always blows my mind.

Why is the 80's so much cooler than today?
The same reason the 60's were so much cooler than the 80's.

On her way to work one morning
Down the path along side the lake
A tender hearted woman saw a poor half frozen snake
His pretty colored skin had been all frosted with the dew
"Oh well," she cried, "I'll take you in and I'll take care of you"
"Take me in oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven's sake
Take me in oh tender woman", sighed the snake
She wrapped him up all cozy in a curvature of silk
And then laid him by the fireside with some honey and some milk
Now she hurried home from work that night as soon as she arrived
She found that pretty snake she'd taking in had been revived
"Take me in, oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven's sake
Take me in oh tender woman", sighed the snake
Now she clutched him to her bosom, "You're so beautiful," she cried
"But if I hadn't brought you in by now you might have died"
Now she stroked his pretty skin and then she kissed and held him tight
But instead of saying thanks, that snake gave her a vicious bite
"Take me in, oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven's sake
Take me in oh tender woman", sighed the snake
"I saved you", cried that woman
"And you've bit me even, why?
You know your bite is poisonous and now I'm going to die"
"Oh shut up, silly woman", said the reptile with a grin
"You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in
"Take me in, oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven's sake
Take me in oh tender woman", sighed the snake
Sighed the snake
"Take me in, oh tender woman
Let me in, I wanna come in
Take me in oh tender woman", sighed the snake
Come in

I'll be attending a Alice cooper and Rob zombie in Bonner springs in ks on Sept 15th, I'm 30 and I'm taking my dad cause he got me into that 80s rock 🤘
@@RoyalChiefHawkRob zombie is awesome. hope you Have fun with your dad,
Hands down one of the best concerts ever, have seen him twice and will do it again if I get the opportunity.
This tune really is a masterpiece, and probably one of the best songs of the genre
❤❤
One of the greatest rock songs ever. So iconic and replayable, graced even more so by the presence of a positive role model for everyone and anyone who straddles the darkside of life.
The amount of alcohol and other substance abuse is anything but positive and to be admired in my opinion
@@RS-xq6je Alice Cooper is a role model precisely because he gave up alcohol and drugs in favor of a clean life. He realized he didn't need those things to be cool or extract pleasure from life. This must be a shitpost because everyone knows this about him
@@RS-xq6je Compassion isn’t your strong suit, is it? Addiction struggles do NOT make a person bad. Alice Cooper is a testament to that-he’s basically the Mr. Rogers of shock rock.
@@ghostrights9314 they don't make you a good role model for anyone. I used too work with drug and alcohol addicts I'm fully aware. I am sorry if my opinion hurt your feelings but I won't change it, drug and alcohol abuse is not a good thing it should not be glorified nor does it make you brave or whatever it means your a poor example of what should be done and a shining example of what not to do, stay hard bro!
@@RS-xq6je I didn’t say that drug and alcohol use should be glorified. I said that people that overcome addiction should be respected; it’s a Herculean feat.
I think this song deserves an award for "most key changes in a hard rock song".
what do you know?
Ever heard of Bohemian Rhapsody? Welcome to the Black Parade?
@@jkkim6928 well he did say Hard Rock.....
JK Kim Ever heard of Stairway To Heaven?
The end of Bohemian Rhapsody is hard rock.
Alice, Warrant, Skid Row, Europe, Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue, Whitesnake... there's no way to explain the feeling when I listen to these artists 🤘🤘🔥🔥
..not to THIS misguisded generation, and not without help from Rebbeca, anyway.
@@sashasue00 wtf, and?? Did I mention any specific generation? Can't you talk about music of different decades? Couldn't I talk about The Doors, Guns n roses and Our Last Night in the same sentence? apparently no
@@sashasue00 that's a hella coincidence then
Alice Cooper was around long before the others you mention.
@@LivingOver60 I didn't talk about any specific time.
I'm here in 2024, at 53 yrs old. I remember when this song rocked out at my high school dances where long heavy metal t-shirts over spandex was the rage if you were skinny. Love love love Alice
Ditto lol
My two favourite Alice Cooper songs - This and 'Only Women Bleed'. Love them ❤️
This was Alice at his prime and this is by far one of his best songs ever. I really miss the 80s.
I’m obsessed with this song 🎧

Saw him and Zombie in concert last Saturday. Will always be the best concert I have ever gone to, and Nita Strauss is arguably the coolest guitarist to have ever played with Cooper. Cooper is a fucken legend and he will still be a legend 30, 40, or even 80 years from now
