- India is celebrating Vijay Diwas on December 16 to commemorate the 51st anniversary of its win over Pakistan in the 1971 war. Around 93,000 armed Pakistani soldiers surrendered before the Indian army on this day, the largest surrender since World War II. The Indian Army brought Pakistan to its knees in just 13 days forcing them to sign a ceasefire. The ‘Instrument of Surrender’ was signed between the GOC-in-C of Indian Eastern Command Lt Gen Jagjit Singh Aurora, and Commander of the Pakistan Eastern Command Lt Gen A.A.K. Niazi on Dec 16, 1971.

Any army of world can't fight without air force and supply line with many time larger army. As per Geneva convention the army which is defeated and surrenders must be given utmost respect. If Indians left your army and it's family members at the mercy of Bangladeshi Mukti bahini then not even general Niazi would have survived.
Whether 35000 or 93000, if Pakistanis were brave enough then they should have fought till the end rather then surrendering to India.

Now regarding the facts of 1971 bangladeshi liberation war to which you disagree:
First of all the Death figures and Rape figures were first mentioned by Danish and British news papers.
Secondly you cannot deny the fact that minimum one murder and one rape was committed by pakistan army. As per your religion Islam even if one innocent human is murdered then it's the death of entire humanity.
Thirdly Sheikh mujeeb ur Rehman was a visionary. He had realised the fact that if any nation was created on the basis of HATE, then that nation will never ever progress in future.
If bangladeshi history books gives more emphasis on the Horrors of Human rights violations by pakistan army's operation searchlight to butcher and rape innocent bangladeshi civilians, then bangladeshi youth which were born after 1971 will have Hate pakistan mindset in their DNA and the war crimes Horrors in 1971 would never allow them to focus in their future progress.

Post independence of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur rehmaan beleived that there should be peace and harmony in the newly liberated Bangladesh rather than the infighting between Native bangla speaking bangladeshis and Urdu speaking Bihari razakars. Sheikh mujib never wanted a civil war like situation in Bangladesh post independence.
This is the reason he downplayed the figures of Murders and Rapes by Pakistani army in 1971 war of Bangladesh liberation.
Sheikh mujib infact followed India's example. In Indian history books also the atrocities of Muslim invaders like gaznavi, ghori , khiljis and mughals are not emphasised , so that an anti muslim hate mindset can be avoided and india can focus on its political stability and economic prosperity for its future generations to come .
India and Bangladesh has progressed by burrying the anti muslim and anti pakistan hate mindset. On the contrary pakistan has unfortunately imbedded and developed the anti hindu, anti Christian, and anti jews mindset amongst their people due to which Pakistan's progress is hindered, both psychologically and economically.

That would of meant that 10000 people had to be killed every single day. Since US invaded Afghanistan and till they left 1.5million people died, Vietnam war was a far deadly war and there were 3,091,000 war deaths between 1955-75. And I can give you many more examples.
3 lakh women did not get raped by 35000 Pakistani soldiers. If that was true then where are the babies? DNA would of proved it.
